2791 2791 2791 We've risen, we've endured, we'll Powerup
Meet Shaker Robotics, your neighborhood high school robotics team
If you looked inside, what would you see?
Hmmmm?
Sure we could tell you that we scour the land, planting a flag that says "FIRST Robotics"
every ten feet But that's not what you want to hear, is it?
Three terms I would use to describe Shaker Robotics are
Well, first off, teamwork Stratigic
And always ready for the challenge I chose teamwork because everyone here has
to learn to work as a team together We've all gotten pretty good at that
I guess you could call us a family of tech geeks, all joined by a love of innovation
As a family, we make an impact on each other everyday
So acting as a role model is always in demand You can tell someone to follow something,
but it's useless if you can't embody it yourself Take a second to reflect
What was your favorite club in high school like?
Did it influence you?
Did it teach you something just by embodying a concept perhaps?
Ok, ok We know that was cheesy, but it's true
Just look at these guys Shaker Robotics displays self confidence
Because it's definitely made me more open to new people, new things, and ideas as a
person I think before I was on the robotics team
I didn't really think of myself as someone who knew how to innovate or knew how to create
things But once I got on the team
I learned a lot of new skills and strategies on how to really take my ideas, and put them
on paper, and get them out there, and really show what I can do
I think the team ended up changing me such that I looked at commonly thought of just
to be normal things in the real world That I started looking at from a more strategic
and just overall well rounded standpoint As a family of young role models
We try to endorse these notions to our community as well
But how?
Explain these concepts Manifest them
Flaunt them if you have to Demonstrations, for example, are a great way
to do so They also increase an enthusiasm of STEM and
Understanding for the characteristics we display We've done a lot more of the community outreach
lately The Boy Scout STEM Week, we've been there
since they started that We've also had the opportunity to do the very
first Girl's World Expo In addition to having a booth and being on
the main stage showing off our robot We also had an opportunity to have one of
our students be interviewed for TV So we've had a lot of opportunity to talk
about not only our robot But FIRST and what it means to the community
In the end, does it really make an impression?
Yes Even if it's just to one person
We still improved the world in our own small way
We grow everyday Even in our outreach, an area where we have
much room for improvement In order to do that, we must be willing to
continue no matter how difficult our trials become
Since our rookie year, we've had drastic improvements in terms of achievement occur within the team
We've gained a better understanding of the words FIRST writes about on it's website
And our robots have improved as well I'm excited to see how this team turns out,
an I'm willing to root for 2791 through any endeavors we encounter in the future
What about you?
