Venezuela is a mess at the moment.

There's no other way to describe it.

Some people find chaos, and when there's blood in the street as the saying goes, as the time

to invest, I'm not so sure that's the case at the moment, we will see.

But at the moment Venezuela is, it can't feed its population, its oil production continues

to fall and that's the only thing that was saving it.

I think Venezuela has become a very important example, as if we needed one after the experiences

of North Korea and South Korea, East Germany and West Germany, but if we needed another

example for the 21st century then if you take the country with the largest oil reserves

in the world, potentially one of the richest countries in the world, and drop Cuban-style

Communism into it, that you can bring it to the brink of bankruptcy.

And that's essentially what's happened.

Now if there's a change of government in Venezuela, it'll be like the Wild West.

When you have that amount of oil reserves, as John D Rockefeller used to say, the only

business worse than a well-run oil company is a badly run oil company.

You're still gonna make money, they're gonna pump that oil out of the ground, the problem

is that they've been incredibly incompetent about doing that in the current environment

and unless they can turn that around they're gonna be in trouble.

But if they do turn that around it's gonna be like the gold rush of the 1800s, it's wide

open.

If the right government comes back in the sky's the limit again.
