Dr. Connealy: It is very easy to prevent cancer.
Ty Bollinger: How would we communicate that to people that are watching?
Dr. Connealy: Well, I tell people prevention is priceless.
It will save you lots of aggravation.
I tell patients, "Look how comfortable you are, sitting here, enjoying your beautiful
life.
You're walking, you're talking, you're feeling, and
you're enjoying your world. You go on a walk or you go and eat or you go out to a movie, and you're just having
a wonderful life."
But once you get the diagnosis of cancer, what happens, Ty?
You know, you've talked to enough patients.
Ty Bollinger: It changes quickly.
Dr. Connealy: Your world stops, okay.
And once you enter into the system and you need a surgery or you need a chemo or radiation,
you are losing your life.
Ty Bollinger: You mentioned and I love the quote, "Prevention is priceless."
So, is that part of your prevention of cancer protocol, the nutritional aspect?
Dr. Connealy: Nutritional and a lot of things.
I tell people illness boils down to five different things.
Sleep, if you don't sleep, how are you going to have a good immune system?
It takes nine hours to restore your immune system.
Hormones, you have to have your hormones balanced.
I'm not talking about female hormones and testosterone.
I'm talking about all of your hormones.
For example, if you have high insulin levels and your blood sugar is high, what do you
do?
Cancer likes sugar, right?
Even though the doctors don't tell you that, the doctors will tell you "Oh, you can just
eat anything."
First of all, it's all over the world about how you treat illness—whether it's a cancer
or heart disease— you've got to get off sugar.
Sugar is a poison for all of us.
If you have a high hemoglobin A1C or high insulin levels, you're going to be predisposed
to cancer.
If your adrenals—your adrenals are your stress, immune, and longevity glands.
Well, if those are tapped out—which a lot of people's are, because people are in outrageous
stress—so then, you are going to be pre-disposed to cancer.
And then the female—we can go through in the male.
When do males get prostate cancer?
They get prostate cancer 50 to 60 years old.
What happens to your testosterone levels?
It drops.
But a lot of the cause of prostate cancer is the environmental estrogens, the xenoestrogen.
"Xeno" is the Greek word for foreign.
So the number one pollutant in men today is phthalates and then fungal infections, I find,
are a big, big issue.
And then the female—why would God design the body to self-destruct with their hormones?
All 25 year-olds—they are at low-risk actually for cancer even though we do have 25 year-olds
with cancer.
That means all young people would be getting cancer because their hormones are at the highest
level.
So it's all about the balance of the hormones.
But when doctors see patients, they don't explore all that balance.
But with us, we do a very expansive work-up on our patients to know every single, little
detail.
Now, infections.
If you have chronic infections, for example, HPV, herpes, HIV, you increase risk of cancer.
We have multiple patients—head and neck, over 30% are related to HPV.
Then you have nutrition and it's not just that are you ingesting foods that have nutrients
and power and potential, but are you absorbing them?
Lots of us have gut compromise.
Ty Bollinger: Why?
Dr. Connealy: Our gut is not good because they are loaded with chemicals, our food have
GMOs.
We have now, in the wheat, glycerophosphate.
All of our food today is challenged and compromised.
And then we're all stressed so our sufficiency of hydrochloric acid in our stomach, which
is naturally there to deactivate all the bugs, whether it is viruses or parasites, is compromised.
And then all of our food is laden with toxicity.
We're eating dead food and we want to be alive.
How's that possible?
It's not possible.
Then next group is toxins.
For toxins, we have emotional toxins and then the environmental pollutants.
I have done thousands of heavy metal tests.
I have never seen someone who has no heavy metals, never.
Heavy metals interfere with the replication of DNA.
So there's no way we can possibly—and I know the body was not designed—there is
no safe level of heavy metals.
Regardless of what the EPA says, the body is not designed to have heavy metals.
Yes you can function and survive, but you are not surviving at the optimal.
Then we'll talk about the environmental pollutants, everything from phthalates to
benzenes to fireretardants.
I mean chlorine, fluorine.
The pharmaceuticals now that are in our body—you are not even taking.
Ty Bollinger: They are in the water.
Dr. Connealy: They're in the water so we are getting them in another way.
Detoxification.
We have every single patient, and it doesn't matter whether what you come in for, you're
going to detox.
We always fix those big five areas and get the body in homeostasis as much as possible.
And then the patient has to do their part.
I tell people I am only as good as you are.
We're partners.
Ty Bollinger: Right.
So those five steps, that's part of the prevention.
And then if you could hit all of those things you covered, the sleep, balancing hormones,
the infections, nutrition, the toxins.
Dr. Connealy: The toxins, the environmental toxins.
Ty Bollinger: Right.
As well as the stress, right?
Dr. Connealy: Yeah, the toxic emotions is the stress.
Ty Bollinger: Part of the emotional toxicity.
Dr. Connealy: So we teach our patients either with meditation—we do breathing.
We give them CDs on how to do different things because you have to do things—you have to
learn how to do it on your own.
Yes, we'll hold your hand, but the bottom line is we want our patients to learn these
self-help techniques on their own so they can survive themselves.
And you've got to have a doctor who is going to partner with you along the way because
life is not going to be a cream puff.
You're going to have blips.
You're going to have roadblocks that you're going to have to deal with.
So on a regular basis you are counteracting the challenges that someone is going through.
They need help. We all need help.
