Waching daily Dec 2 2017

We aren't coming out here to make excuses with weather and heat and visiting team and etc. alright.

Challenge is a lie that we sit here, right now, in the standings and where you're trying to go to get over that edge and jump off and say, we got this.

But it isn't gonna be easy, don't fool yourself its not gonna be easy, but you're gonna be in a situation, alright, again that you have something to prove.

You have something to prove for everyone that picked us eleventh or twelfth in the PAC 12, not gonna happen

Can this young team get in the NCAA tournament, well, we're about to find out.

Its gonna be a challenge, its not gonna be easy, but were behind ya. Got it?

It's tough when you're on the road, you've got to be a road warrior, for sure. You've gotta be adaptable and you've got to be willing to do whatever it takes to meet your role on the team.

In the Pac-12 we play games on Thursday and Sunday and so you leave Wednesday to go on the road; so it's a long four nights on the road

There's some benefits to playing on the road- we're big on the term "Road Warriors" and it's something our head coach likes to use.

But, you get to come away from the distractions of being at home, and being in Pullman. You just focus on soccer and then your study hall and getting your studies in.

But it's very difficult; you're in a hotel for four nights, you aren't in your bed, your schedule is different

You're doing video, you are rooming with people you aren't used to rooming with.

We gotta play in front of a different crowd, different surface, possibly different weather. On the back end of a weekend, on the road, is really tough.

I mean, you've got 48 hours in between possible travel from venue to venue, and you got tired legs and have to use your whole bench,

your depth is key, so winning games on Sunday, on the road, really, I think, sets you up for huge success for possibly getting into the NCAA tournament.

1, 2, 3- COUGS!!!

So we're here at 2017 Women's soccer selection show for Washington State University. A little nervous, but hoping that big UCLA win will win the day, and we will be in the tournament again, which is where we belong.

Tell me how ya feel…. I'm super FREAKING EXCITED. This is the selection show, and I have a good feeling.

Super excited… very nervous, very excited. (super duper excited) Fingers crossed, it's gonna work out.

So proud of everybody in this room and all the support we have, you guys had a great season so far and we look forward to going to Orlando,

, you know what guys I look forward to going to Florida two weekend in a row, we gotta take one thing at a time,

we don't know where we are traveling yet, but Shawn and Jessica are going work on that.

Do know, that if the game is on a Friday we will leave on a Wednesday and if the game is on a Saturday we will leave on Thursday.

Its going to take…We will go out two days ahead a time for sure because we probably have the farthest trip across the country,

but hey we are in the tournament, we don't make excuses here as Cougs,

we know and we will be excited here about this and the wonderful opportunity.

We got in and it was so FREAKING exciting haha and everything just went from there.

We were lucky enough to get a charter flight, so we bused down to Lewiston and everyone got on our own personal private airplane.

Our goal this year was to get a little bit of redemption for last year and not making the tournament

and then take it a step further and get past the first round of the tournament.

Those last two minutes were pure adrenaline. Trying to hold on and just get the ball away from our goal

and the final whistle blows, and it's just this big sigh of relief and accomplishment and focus.

to move on to the next game.

Since we play in the PAC-12, its just another game.

Yes, it's the second round of NCAA tournament, it's crazy that we got there

but it's just another game.

And so, we were all ready to go and knew, without a doubt,

that we would be able to take the game.

She knew exactly where that girl was going.

I didn't want to celebrate too soon because that always seems to jinx it...BUT

the excitement just rose before that girl even took her pk, and again, the sense of accomplishment and relief and mental focus and excitement for our next game.

Excuse me ma'am, but where are we going? TO THE FREAKING SWEET SIXTEEN, BABY!!! (screams)

I think that caught up to us a little bit, in the second half,

and they kinda took it to us.

And so, getting into overtime was a blessing and a curse because we knew we could reset,

but we also knew, we were tired.

I was really proud of everyone for playing their heart out.

I don't think anyone gave up at any moment.

It was just a little bit of mental fatigue that got to us, I think.

Those things happen,

but that's also what makes you better

is you know the moments when you have to push through

and that's ok, this is coming for us.

This is when we're gonna be tired, and youre going to be able to get through it the next time.

I'm so excited for next season. I've been thinking about next season, this season because we're gonna be phenomenal.

We're gonna be playing as a team more than we have this year or in previous years.

. And, we are going to do some great things.
