Conor McGregor KO impossible? Video proves Floyd Mayweather has a chin of STEEL

But a video uploaded to social media site Reddit this week shows that the task will be far easier said than done – not least of all because 40-year-old Mayweather has never been beaten.

Seeking to improve his record to an incredible 50-0, "Money" Mayweather's dominant reign across five divisions of the sport is made more impressive by the fact that he has touched the canvas only once – a knockdown against Carlos Hernandez in 2001.

Victories against the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya all came without incurring so much as a scratch, much less being dropped to the floor. Floyd Mayweather has proven he is able to take a punch.

Having earned a reputation as arguably the greatest defensive boxer of all time, Mayweather's durability is an attribute that has been overlooked during the course of his storied career.

It is rare that "Pretty Boy" Floyd gets caught by a punch – but the above video demonstrates why he has become near-impossible to beat, even when a shot sneaks through his otherwise impenetrable defences.

He is able to absorb damage and recover almost instantaneously thanks to his superhuman cardiovascular ability. The 40-year-old is currently 49-0 in his storied career having won titles across five divisions.

"That [Marcus] Maidana punch is always funny to watch because, for how hard he [Floyd] gets decked, he just looked annoyed and disappointed in himself," said one fan. Another wrote: "Maidana one clearly rocked him.

[Shane] Mosley shots hurt him bad. "The amazing thing about Floyd is he gets hit with the one shot but very very hard to follow up and land follow ups which makes him so good.".
