OUR PROPOSAL VIDEO + WEDDING PLANS - Duration: 6:55.

Katrina Axtell

Would you marry me?

Of course

Buenos dias!

So in case you haven't seen our last video

You should cause um, me and Katrina are engaged now

A lot of family and a lot of friends and a lot of fans saw that coming

and a lot more people were kinda shocked

Some didn't know we were a couple

Cause we're not super public about that kind of stuff

So we wanted to do a video explaining how all of this crazy thing happened

- So first we're going to explain how this whole thing happened

It started off when I was studying in Buenos Aires in 2015

Julian was there for his music and...

I stumbled upon one of his shows.

I guess we made an impression on each other because we became really good friends

Which lead to the two of us taking a road trip -video link below-

But to be honest, I fell in love with him way way before he fell in love with me

And I wasn't sure and I didn't say anything, so I kept my mouth shut and I just enjoyed

the friendship that we had

It was something that I wasn't willing to risk losing

- And we were both in different mindsets, We were both coming out of relationships

-Yeah. I left, I went back to Minnesota

We maintained really close contact. Anyway, a few months later I moved to Buenos Aires

Him and his roommate invited me to come live with them, so I moved in with them.

From that moment on, we spent almost every single day together, getting to know each other

During that time we were performing on the streets a lot

We were super broke, really stressed out all the time

And that was a super bonding experience for us as well

But one night we were talking about the future

And we both kind of admitted to the other that we could see ourselves

In each others lives 10 years, 20 years in the future

And we kinda had this moment where we realized

"We love each other, We want to be together"

And that was the moment that we kind of started "dating"

-A lot of people ask how we actually got engaged, who proposed

So we've been talking marriage ever since the day we started dating

Cause we had been together as friends for a long time so we knew what we were getting into

So we've been talking about it seriously for the last 6 months

And we've been wearing different fake rings for the last year or so

Just to get used to the idea -To see how engagement felt on us

Just a little addendum, I would say that maybe staying with that couple

That we really liked that they were engaged

I think that affected a tiny bit

So there wasn't really an actual proposal

I didn't get down on one knee or whatever

We just decided that we wanted to do it

We called our parents when we made the decision

And we weren't still "engaged"

We were driving to Seattle where we are right now and we said

Hey tomorrow let's in the morning go get our rings

In the afternoon let's get our engagement tattoos

And in the evening-ish

Let's go on a romantic place that we can exchange the rings at

And that ended up being a ferris wheel

When it comes to the wedding we wanted to be sure

That everyone that wanted to celebrate with us would have the opportunity

Cause we travel so much and I'm from Corrientes and we live in Buenos Aires

Katrina's from Minnesota, it got complicated fast

And the wedding planning is already killing me -The wedding itself

is going to be really small, just family and really close friends

We don't wanna exclude all the people who have supported us and who mean a lot to us

So what we're doing is having two receptions

We're having one in Minnesota and one in Corrientes

-We're not really fans of either big parties or tradition

When it comes to doing like a white dress and stuff

Like Katrina wants to get a white dress but not the normal ones

-It's going to be different

It's going to be...

Me

So far it sounds like the wedding itself is going to be in May

Followed by a reception in Minnesota

That would be around mid or late May

Um... but before that we're doing engagement parties in Buenos Aires and in Corrientes

Corrientes probably near the end of February

-And for the people that listen to our music in Argentina

We will love to do some meet ups to celebrate that

That will also be fun

-But our marriage is a little more complicated than most

Purely because we're from different countries, we have different citizenships

Neither of us can stay in the other's country for more than a certain amount of time

And there's a lot, a lot of legal stuff to deal with

Now you already know that weddings are pretty pricey

Especially in the US, people go crazy

Even though we wanna do something kind of simple

We do have a lot a lot of costs, mainly for legal reasons

There's costs for paying the lawyers helping us through the process

Actual costs that go to the government for both of us to get our Visas

Plane tickets

So that's going to be a big expense in our wedding

Now usually in weddings I see a lot of people get housewarming gifts

Like utensils for the kitchen, furniture, um, things to put in their new home

But since we live such a nomadic life, that's not practical for us

And so we were thinking, how can we allow people to help support us in this marriage?

And really for us the most helpful thing would be helping us cover those

Unconventional legal costs

And so we set up a registry that allows you to contribute whatever amount you'd like

And we have a few different topics, one of those is definitely the legal one

Which is the most important and the most immediate

But we also wanted to give you guys options,

if you would like to send us a gift, you can help contribute to our honeymoon

We also would like to start saving up for our very first home

When things have settled down a little bit

I know money is a really impersonal gift and we would really love to get letters

From anyone who'd like to send us one

Just to hear from you, maybe draw us a picture

-We're leaving two addresses, one in Minnesota and one in Corrientes

That you can send stuff to

-And we would definitely love to respond to you so make sure you leave your return address

So we can send you a letter or a picture back

-So thank you for being part of this

Thank you for supporting us and it's lovely to share something so personal with you guys

We didn't say goodbye yet, but okay -But I'm sending them kisses cause we're thankful

-Okay

-You're weird, stop that
