From THINK+change. Finding Health:

What is the difference between CBD and THC?

CBD and THC are naturally occurring cannabinoids in the cannabis plant.

Cannabis is also known as marijuana.

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that are reported to relieve and treat a variety of

conditions.

CBD is known largely for its muscle relaxant properties.

Isolated on its own, CBD is non-pychoactive meaning it won't get you high and

has been reported to, at a minimum, be effective in treating epilepsy, PTSD, and anxiety.

THC is known for its impact on sleeping and eating habits.

THC is considered effective when treating the side effects of chemotherapy, as well

as multiple sclerosis and glaucoma.

CBD can be derived from hemp, a non-high producing form of cannabis.

THC cannot be derived from hemp.

Additionally, hemp is legal federally, and medical cannabis is only legal in certain

states.

State-approved use of medicinal cannabis is new, and the long term effects and benefits

are yet to be researched.

Recent studies have shown that both CBD and THC may have tremendous promise in treating

a variety of conditions.

Dosage of CBD and THC medical cannabis can best be determined through a partnership with

medical practitioners.
