World Toilet Organisation is to make the sanitation agenda continuously visible
continuously palatable.
In 2013 World Toilet Organization's founding day
19 of November (World Toilet Day)
was adopted unanimously
by all 193 countries of the United Nations
Because, toilets are so important to everybody's life
and we have to keep this agenda alive.
One the hallmark events of WTO is the Urgent Run.
Which is our call for a urgent action to
end the global sanitation crisis
this actually held in celebration of the UN World Toilet Day
and we hold every year since 2014.
It aims to bring communities
around the world together to raise
awareness and to raise funds for
this global sanitation issue.
So ever since 2014 There were over 63 events across
42 countries around the world and it was not just organized by WTO
held by local communities, schools, students, companies, associations and NGOs as well.
World Toilet collage is a very important pillar of WTO
It was started in 2005, with an aim to built the capacities of different
stakeholders in sanitation value chain.
Since its inception
we have trained corporates, NGO staff, cleaning workers and many other
stakeholders in sanitation value chain.
here in 2015 we partnered with
Reckitt Benckiser who set up an additional World Toilet college in India
So far we have trained 2000 people in India through this College.
Sani-Shop is a social enterprise initiative
wanting to build toilets in countries like Cambodia
in a sustainable way. We build and sell the toilets locally.
Cambodians were thought how to built toilets
so that they can in turn sell to the local people
We believe that when they buy it, they will treasure it.
Unlike if they get it for free, they may not use it.
That is whole idea of SaniShop; it's a mindset change
that toilets is more than just
a place for doing their business.
They will get use to having toilets in school and at home.
World Toilet Summit is an initiative of WTO.
It started at a time when toilets continued to be a
Taboo subject. Not a lot of governments
were addressing it on a national level
cooperates and non profits soon needed
the capacity to be able to achieve more.
When Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser,
governments, ministry they have readily partnered with us and they have taken
their own initiative to make sure that there is sustainable sanitation
available in the countries and cities where they are located.

[360 Video EXTRA] Bones (CH 4) - Searching for Kristopher - Duration: 6:54.
It was a fantastic day. I was stunned by the terrain that we were on... incredibly
rugged, basically like wandering around on a coral reef. My shoes pretty good.
It's just just beautiful how stunning and alien the landscape was. How are you
feeling? Pretty good... feet are beat up a little bit, but I think
it all went pretty well considering the training we were in.
I have seen Lava Beds before... and I guess it wasn't too unexpected, what I saw. The coral kind of
formations on some of the sides of the lava flow were pretty cool.
I hadn't really climbed on that kind of stuff.
Most of the boulders kind of reminded me like walking out on a jetty... just
kind of moving from rock to rock. How did you feel about leaving me all alone to
search that last little part at the end of the day. I felt a very small amount of
guilt but not enough to shed any tears at the moment. You could certainly see,
all jokes, aside that I mean 50 yards, a hundred yards, 200 yards of separation
from somebody they're no longer being able to hear you. The indefinite
qualities of the landscape... you really can lose direction very quickly if GPS
equipment that... like I was using.... were to fall out of your hands, you would
very likely not be able to recover it because the boulder holes go down in
areas. You just can't move anything out of the way to get to it.
I was certainly struck with a sense of how quickly a person could get in
trouble out there, lose any sense of direction, and just be
swallowed by the landscape, and even when you're with a group, you know, guy my size
it's... it's not easy to navigate that, and you know if somebody falls breaks an
ankle a hand, or wrist, gets a significant cut, which literally could happen with
any single step, you know, how do you get them out? if you've got two hours of
daylight left and you've got somebody who all of a sudden can't move will
completely depend on leaning on two other people it certainly struck me that
you just go even slower.
We are in a big rock boulder field here but, you know,
we're definitely five minutes out and I don't see anything that really resembles any
kind of a lava tube. There's lots of little valleys and dips but not like... in
some of the other places I've seen a defined area where it looks like it's
lower, like a little creek bed almost.
I'm really not expecting to find anything this.... looks... this late but it is
interesting to see the type of train that they might have had to traverse or
try and navigate kind of gives you an idea of how easily you know you can get
hurt out there and if you're alone that's just about it.
I'm not sure that those trees over there are actually as thick as they look though. Yeah. You want
to try... those those were thicker back there though. You want to try to go to go
over these trees and see what we see yeah see if we can find a trench.
Kind of fascinating. Well to spend so many hours to go a mile is crazy. Yeah.
You know it's kind of thing somebody tells me, I'm like does that make sense?
There's a bald eagle. Yeah. I wish I had my camera on that. Yeah Yeah. That took us
pretty much four hours, didn't it pretty close to four hours didn't it. A mile in
and mile out. Yeah... and I don't think there'd be anything to gain by faster. No.
from the big lava bed and maybe you've been able to use a VR headset. Let me
know what you think of this I'm planning on doing some more this in the future. On
this production it was a turned out being a lower resolution than resolution
camera than I'd hoped. I want to do more of that in the future.
