Hi, I'm Jacob Collier. I'm the musician for the Over the Horizon 2017 Project.

When I come to arrange something I'm used to working with a small amount of material

but this was by far the smallest about of material I've ever had to work with it was just 5 notes.

Doo, Doo, Do Da Do.

for me the most part of the fun

was organising ways in which this melody could appear in unexpected ways and areas and sounds.

This is always something I've loved to do but for this project I wanted to squeeze out

this bit of material as much as possible and just make it as broad and varied as I possibly could.

Hi, I'm Ramy Dance, Director of Over The Horizon featuring Jacob Collier for Samsung.

Jacob is a creative at heart and he makes all his own video so the pressure was definitely on to make sure

we come up with someone cool and engaging

I decided to shoot on motion control which in itself is super challenging

but completely rewarding the edits looking incredible and I'm really, really happy with the results.

I heard when I was speaking with Ramy initially about this crazy camera which dose these ridiculous motions

and its all automated and its crazy and I've never seen anything quite like it.

so I was all so excited to jump into this and create this multi Jacob environment

not in the static way that I was used to with the status of Jacobs in different parts of the screen

but more that there are Jacobs moving around and the camera itself is moving around and this kind of thing

is not very possible to do without the most astonishing team of people.

One of the extraordinary things about Jacob is his ability to take a sound

transform it into another sound and then turn it into really a extraordinary piece of music.

We were mastering this track because its going to be pre-loaded on the Samsung phone.

So the consideration was essentially

to make sure that any elements in it which need to be enhanced so they come out better on the phone.

This has been such a crazy journey to make this optimistic, rhythmic, harmonic, melodic song

out of these 5 notes and I'm so excited for you to see it.
