Hello my name is Mrs. Centeno and I will be your first grade teacher this year.

For now I will not be your teacher. Mrs. Baptiste will be your teacher. I am taking care of my baby that was born in July.

But, I will be your teacher in September until the end of 1st grade.

I am very anxious to meet you all and am very excited about being your DLI teacher this year. We will learn alot and we will have fun! See you later, Bye!

I was working on a chemistry degree right out of high school

when I heard about energy auditing

I really liked the idea of using science to save the environment,

and I love these classes

I mean we get to do all sorts of hands-on assignments

that give a real-world field experience

I've worked all sorts of jobs in my life-- driving truck, operating heavy equipment, building houses...

My dad, he was a logger. So I grew up thinking about

what it means preserve the planet's resources

yet still be able to make a living.

When we first started the program I thought our students would be

going to work for utility companies exclusively. But I found that's not the case.

They go to work for utility indeed, but they also go to work for engineering firms

They go after school districts, state, federal and local government,

they have gone to work for engineering firms

It's just really quite all over the board.
