My name is Lauren Kuehn, I'm 32 years old and I've been sick since February of 2016.

Hi, I'm Klaus and I'm so glad that you're joining us

for the 43rd annual recording here at Christ For The Nations.

The next song you're about to hear is a very special song to our family.

Laura Kuehn was here as a student from the years 2003 to 2005.

God deeply touched her life while she was here.

Surely, after she married my nephew Andrew,

they had 4 children together and life was good.

Two years ago, Lauren was diagnosed with cancer,

and begun to fight for her life.

She inspired so many others in the way that she worshipped,

and the blogs she sent out.

Just how she lived her life.

The very thing that she learned here on campus,

in these chapels, in these nights of worship,

she literally lived it out in this battle.

She did passed away this last Christmas Day,

and finished her race this side of heaven.

There was a song that she would listen to everyday.

That song is called "Defender".

It became our anthem.

You're about to worship with that song tonight.

And it was the lyrics to that song that gave Lauren strength

for the journey and in the battle.

She would take the iPod and would play that song

during her times of chemotherapy

and the patient's around her would just begin to weep.

We're honored this eventing to have Rita Springer

come and declare that God is our defender.
