Welcome to The OdySea Aquarium Pal video.

Helping you prepare for a trip to OdySea Aquarium.

With Pal everyone gets to go.

Today, Danny and Mary get to go to OdySea Aquarium. Awesome!

The family walked past the OdySea in the Desert courtyard, sometimes they have events here.

Their dad pre-ordered their tickets on the OdySea website so they can skip the line.

Danny and Mary choose to have their picture taken. Cheese!

They head inside and smell the salty ocean water.

They show their tickets to the Guest Services Representative and get a map.

They are ready to start their journey!

OdySea Aquarium is an ocean wonderland, in the desert!

General admission lets you visit over 6,000 animals

and explore more than 65 exhibits!

Plus, you can add on some cool adventures like Sea Trek, an underwater experience

behind-the-scenes tours and animal encounters.

Lots of people like to explore OdySea Aquarium.

Danny and Mary remember to stay with their grown-up.

If Danny or Mary ever need a break they can rest on a bench.

There's even a quiet room available. Just ask a Guest Services Representative for help.

OdySea has bathrooms and drinking fountains throughout the aquarium,

including some special bathrooms with a great view near the entrance.

The OdySea Aquarium journey follows a drop of water

falling from the sky, down through fresh water rivers and streams

and out into the oceans and down to the deep sea.

After riding the escalator up from the entry area

Danny and Mary start their journey.

The kids check out the cool fresh water critters

and have fun with the interactive exhibits.

The lights are dim here because that's how the fish like it.

Danny and Mary watch their step and use the blue guide lights to help them find their way.

There are lots of interesting fish

and even some animal friends that live on land!

Next, they move on to the Shoreline.

The Lighthouse Cafe is here if they want a snack.

This area is brighter because these animals like the sunshine.

Danny and Mary love exploring the

three different touch pools.

Everyone who chooses to touch the animals must wash their hands,

then touch gently using two fingers.

The water can be cold and the animals feel so neat!

Danny washes his hands after touching a stingray.

Time for one of their favorite spots, Penguin Point!

Danny loves to watch them waddle on land

then dive gracefully in the water.

Penguins like to play and so do the kids.

They stop and enjoy some games before moving on.

Danny and Mary are ready to move on to the next level, deep ocean.

They hear music, see blue lights and feel wind

on the slow escalator ride down.

Danny hears 'Salty the Sailor' introducing the 3D movie,

they are just in time!

They put on special glasses that make it look

like the whales are right in front of them.

After the 9 minute movie ends

Mary wants to take a picture of a stingray.

She remembers to turn the camera flash off, the animals don't like the bright light.

'Click!'

They walk through a tunnel on their way to the

OdySea Voyager, an interactive exhibit where you board

a submarine and become an ocean researcher.

Submarines board every five minutes.

Danny and Mary remember to stay in their seats for the 20-minute ride.

The submarine slowly rotates to view four different

exhibits filled with lots of animals.

If the family ever wants to get off

they can walk to the back of the submarine

toward the 'Exit' sign.

Danny loves being an ocean researcher.

They learn how OdySea Aquarium rescues and rehabilitates injured animals

and what they can do at home to protect the ocean.

After lots of exploration it's time to go.

Danny and Mary exit through the gift shop.

They may or may not get a gift and that's okay.

Danny and Mary saw so many amazing animals at OdySea Aquarium today

and they can't wait to tell their friends and family about what they learned.

Created for everyone by OdySea Aquarium and Pal.

With Pal everyone gets to go.

WHY IS HYPOCHONDRIA NO LONGER IN THE DSM 5? | Video by Psych-Minded - Duration: 7:44.

welcome back to psych minded I'm your host Kalley Marie. Today we're going

to be talking about the new diagnosis of hypochondria. Thank you so much for

joining me today. If you're not yet subscribed please subscribe so you'll

never miss a video on mental health or psychology. I put out content every

single week so be sure to hit the subscribe button, If you have

Instagram be sure to follow me on there as well. I'm very active. I always

post when new videos come out and I would love to interact with you on there

so please be sure to follow me on there also. Today we're talking about a

really exciting topic. I've done some recent collabs with a fellow youtuber a

friend of mine named Trey Jones and his show or his channel is all about anxiety

and health anxiety. I thought it would be a really good idea to dive into

some diagnosis now of different anxieties and we're gonna start with

health anxiety. So this anxiety was formerly known as hypochondria but when

the dsm-5 came out a couple years ago they switched it up for a couple reasons

and essentially rebranded it so let's dive in and talk about it

so the dsm-5 is the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for psychiatric

illnesses so any sort of mental illness that you get diagnosed with you will

have your doctor or your psychologist or psychiatrist go through and this guide

will tell them the symptoms that need to be present for how long and stuff of

that nature so when they did the dsm-5 they try to update it every I think it's

every couple decades not sure on that I'll have to double check and maybe

annotate that but when they updated the DEET when they did the dsm-5 the newest

addition they took hypochondria out of the diagnosis they did this for a couple

reasons for a couple different diagnoses they

wanted to take out some of the diagnostic names that had negative

connotations so we know that hypochondria can have sort of a

stigmatized it's never been represented very well in the media and so that was

one of the goals of the dsm-5 was to sort of take away and

to rebrand some of these names and hypochondria was one of them so what

they ended up doing hypochondria is definitely still a diagnosis it's just

no longer called that and it's much more specific so there's two different

diagnoses that they've divided hypochondria into essentially and they

now refer to them as either one illness or the other so the first one is known

as a somatic symptom disorder called SSD and essentially this is health anxiety

with physical symptoms so the typical symptoms of being concerned if you're

you know having certain illnesses show up maybe you have cancer maybe you have

you know some terrible illness that you are very obsessed over and maybe even

convinced that you might have this might consist of you know you're going to the

doctor and checking a lot trying to see if there is a problem the most prevalent

symptom is the health anxiety but with somatic symptom disorder you have

physical symptoms like fatigue and anxiety and maybe even like headaches or

stomachaches that go along and sort of play on the anxiety so you not only have

the fear of your health but you're also experiencing these physical symptoms

that are kind of making the anxiety worse and could even be you know part of

the anxiety causing the physical pain and so it can get people trapped in a

lot of different cycles mentally and cycles with anxiety and it represents it

shows up for everyone a little bit different just in terms of the somatic

symptoms and when we talk about somatic symptoms what we're referring to are

symptoms that have no apparent medical cause so that would be like the

headaches or you know fatigue some of those more general symptoms they may not

have a direct reason or a direct disease as to why they're present and so

somebody with somatic symptom disorder may mistake these symptoms or be

convinced and truly believe that they are experiencing a you know this symptom

as an indicator of something much more prevalent or much more serious somatic

symptom disorder is most often diagnosed it's about 75% of the time that somebody

with the typical hypochondria symptoms might be diagnosed with somatic symptom

disorder so most people that experience health anxiety are going to have the

physical symptoms along with it the other side of health anxiety the other

disorder that they diagnosed now is called illness anxiety disorder and this

is diagnosed only about a quarter of the time for somebody who's experiencing

some sort of health anxiety because most of the time it does have a physical

presentation but with illness anxiety disorder it's just the anxiety you just

have the fear and some of the obsessions and the doctor checkups and the visits

and that sort of thing the googling we should have talked about

that sooner I'm sure you have at one point in your life consulted dr. Google

for your symptoms that is prevalent in both of these disorders where there's a

lot of obsessive checking and research that kind of goes on and are in our

minds and on the internet to try to see if we are correct in our assumptions and

of course this only makes the anxiety worse so I highly recommend you don't do

that first of all and I'll make more videos in the future on how we can help

combat health anxiety and just anxiety in general but I really wanted to give a

good starting place and talk about these two new diagnoses and be sure to watch

my collab with Trey because he talks a lot about what this health anxiety is

all about he goes into so much great detail and depth on what goes on and you

know the mind of somebody who struggles with health anxiety so I'm flink that

below and everywhere you can find it because it's just fantastic so be sure

to watch that if you want to know more about what those symptoms are like if

you're experiencing health anxiety so we have these two new diagnoses right we've

got somatic symptom disorder which is the presentation of health anxiety along

with the physical symptoms and then we have the illness anxiety disorder which

is not as commonly diagnosed where you're just experiencing the anxiety

itself so if this sounds familiar to you or you feel can

learn about your own health be sure to visit your doctor and be sure to talk to

them about what you're experiencing if you are having a heightened anxiety

about your health it really is normal in certain

circumstances but if it is becoming a detriment on your life that is where

disorder kind of comes into play there's a lot of factors but we often mark

disorder and mental illness as the number one you know component being that

it's a it's a detriment on your life it's causing your your social life and

your personal life too you know Trey mentioned in his video that it's it was

hard to go to work it was hard to maintain relationships so it really

becomes something that you know leaks into every single area of your life so

I'll do more videos in the future on how to compat health anxiety but for now go

talk to your doctor but I will leave you with this understand that the core root

of health anxiety disorder either of the disorders is the way that these symptoms

are being interpreted it's them it's the things that the person with the disorder

is telling themselves about the symptoms that causes the problem so that's that

was one of the things that stuck out to me and my research is that it was the

way that it was interpreted so the good news about this is that it is possible

to get over you can learn to reinterpret some of these symptoms and again please

watch Trey's video so many good things that you can do like today to help you

if you are feeling really you know you don't feel like you have any empowerment

over your health so we will we will continue to explore this issue I hope

this was helpful for you today and if you have any questions for me please

leave a comment below I want to know what you think about how the anxiety I

want to know what you think about as always so please leave a comment before

you go give me a thumbs up don't forget to subscribe and I will see you guys

next time bye
