Light My Way - the fall prevention system from Bellman and Symfon.

Getting Started

Light My Way comes complete and ready to use

with components for bedroom, hallway and bathroom.

Unpack the boxes and install the components in the following order:

The Bedroom

The first thing you need to do is mount the batteries in the bed exit sensor.

Use the supplied screwdriver to open the battery lid.

Insert the batteries.

Then put the lid back on again.

Put the bed exit sensor under the pillow,

or under the mattress at the head end of the bed.

Select the bedroom switch.

First, use a pencil to remove the frame from the bedroom switch.

Then remove the cover from the adhesive tape,

and attach the bedroom switch to the wall.

Select the bedroom lightbulb and place it in the bedroom ceiling lamp.

If there is not ceiling lamp, you can place it in a floor or table lamp instead.

Flip the ceiling lamp switch and keep the lights on.

Remove the cover from the adhesive tape.

Cover the switch with the bedroom cover.

To make sure it's working properly, flip the switch to turn on the ceiling light.

To test the bed-exit sensor,

first make sure that the room is dark,

then gently press the pillow or mattress to turn on the light.

The Bathroom

Place the bathroom bulb in the lamp above the basin or in the ceiling.

Flip the light switch and keep the lights on.

Select the bathroom switch and pull the battery tab to activate it.

Remove the cover from the adhesive tape

and attach the bathroom switch so it covers the current switch.

To make sure it's working properly,

flip the switch to turn on the light.

The Hallway

Place the hallway bulb in a floor or table lamp.

If the socket doesn't fit, use the included adapter.

Flip the switch to turn on the light,

then put away the light switch so it's not turned off by mistake.

To make sure it's working properly, go to the bedroom

and flip the switch to turn all the lights on.

Customization

If you have a double switch, you can easily customize the frame

on the cover for the switch.

First, use pliers or scissors to cut tracks,

following the markings in the frame.

Then use pliers to remove the residual plastic.

Remove the cover from the adhesive tape,

and attach the switch cover on top of the switch you want to over-ride.

Follow the same steps if you have surface wiring.

Depending on the living space, in most cases you won't need

all the components in the box.

Accessories

If the bed is adjustable, use a bed pocket

to keep the bed exit sensor in place.

The accessory is available in white canvas.

If you care for a patient or loved one with dementia,

use contrast frames to indicate the position of the light switches.

The switch frame pack is available in clear blue.
