Waching daily Dec 3 2018

Hi, I'm Taylor and I am a big dog lover

But I'm also a singer/songwriter and this is the reason why I need your help. At the start of this year

I released a song called 'Spark Off The New Year'

And when I released it I didn't have anything planned for it

I just put it up online and left it as that but it's been my

experiences this year that has made me want to actually do something about that song and I'm gonna make a new music video with your

help. 'Spark Off The New Year' is a song about

pushing the restart button, something happening in your life that has made you see the world in a completely

refreshed, new perspective, and this year did just that for me.

Earlier this year Sydney Dogs and Cats Home

contacted me because they had a dog they were caring for and they needed someone to foster this dog

Obviously I said yes

Within a couple of months. I fell in love and soon enough. I adopted Sasha

"She's Sasha Beadle-Williams"

"Sasha and I are gonna go home - okay bye!"

Unfortunately

our life together did not last for too long because within a month of me adopting her she passed away unexpectedly

while I was on a holiday...

"I have just found out some very sudden and bad news about my dog that I recently adopted,

Sasha, in Australia. She suffered from a cardiac arrest and

passed away on the spot.

So she wasn't able to be revived and she's now gone..."

Obviously what happened with Sasha was completely unexpected and a tragedy.

But it has brought a whole new meaning to that song

I wrote so long ago. And therefore I want to honour Sasha and other rescue animals: dogs, cats,

any animal, and also honor the rescuers themselves. So this is where I need your help.

Now I need you to submit a video of you and your furry or feathered friend

Singing and dancing along to my song 'Spark Off The New Year.' Basically, just look up my song;

you can find it on YouTube, you can find it on Spotify, you can find it on iTunes. Find it,

set up a camera, and video yourself. It can be on your mobile.

The video needs to be approximately 30 seconds

Make sure that you film it in landscape mode

not vertical

Landscape mode horizontal mode and then send your submissions to me via my Facebook page,

my OFFICIAL Facebook page, and you'll find that link down below

Please feel free to introduce yourself and your rescued pet to me as well.

My aim is to choose my favorite videos and then edit them together and then create a whole new video for my song

'Spark Off The New Year'.

So let's Spark Off The New Year with a bang and encourage people to adopt not shop and

Rescue those poor animals who need our help and love. Please submit your videos by 14th of December,

Friday 14th of December.

That's in just under two weeks. So get your camera's out, get your paws up, and start dancing to 'Spark Off The New Year.'

I'm looking forward to seeing your submissions!

Thanks guys. See you soon

DePaul University 2018 Holiday Video - Duration: 2:12.

I want to thank all of you for joining us today for DePaul's inaugural tree lighting

ceremony.

Today's events are new to the DePaul calendar, but after seeing the joy spread throughout

the afternoon, we trust that this will be the start of a great tradition for our community.

The holidays are a time for people to come and celebrate together, and the DePaul community

has the ability to do just that.

Christmas is even more important to me since we're doing this together as a Vincentian

community.

Honoring the basic human dignity of everybody that surrounds us, resonates not only in our

Vincentian mission, but our mission as human beings that live on this Earth.

With this in mind, we aim to honor and respect each other, and to remember that we are all

of different backgrounds, but can come together and appreciate each other this holiday season.

This tree symbolizes the hope we have for our community and the world.

It is a symbol of our faith and dedication to one another.

Regardless of your religion, background or beliefs, this tree is for everyone at DePaul.

Just as we remain grounded in our Catholic and Vincentian mission, this tree stands firmly,

it's rooted in place, every year it will grow bigger and stronger.

As the fall quarter comes to a close, many of our students will soon leave for winter

break.

Our holiday tree, however, will remain lit.

We hope its glow will serve as a beacon of light to guide our students back to DePaul

in January.

Gabriel and I hope all your holidays will be filled with love and laughter.

Alright folks, it's the moment you've been waiting for, the tree lighting!

Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one, yay!

Tax Office 2019 Reappraisal Video - Duration: 4:51.

Hello. I'm Jocelyn Andrews, Tax Administrator for Johnston County.

My staff and I would like to answer some of the most common questions concerning reappraisal.

What is a reappraisal?

Reappraisal, also known as revaluation, is an in-depth process that resets the taxable value of all real property to its current market value as of January 1, 2019.

Personal property is listed and valued annually; however, since real property doesn't depreciate as quickly as personal property, it is treated differently.

Why do we reappraise?

North Carolina statute requires each county to conduct this process every eight years at a minimum.

The last revaluation was in 2011 and Johnston County has changed considerably since that time.

As a result, your value will likely be different than it was eight years ago.

It is necessary to adjust real property values for changes in the market to ensure that each property owner pays their fair share.

How is it done?

An independent appraisal company was contracted to determine the market value as of January 1, 2019.

To ensure our assessments are accurate, every recorded sale of property in Johnston County was evaluated through a combination of computer-based and field reviews.

County staff appraisers then reviewed the results to verify that the characteristics of each property are accurately reflected in county records.

Your property was compared to sales within your individual market.

Johnston County has roughly 100,000 parcels of land and it is home to many different market areas.

Within these varying market areas values have increased, decreased and some have remained unchanged.

I heard the term market value. What is market value?

Market value is the most probable or likely price for which the property would sell in an open market, meaning the buyer and seller are equally informed.

It is determined by the actual activity in the local market, not by the tax office.

What affects market value?

There are a lot of factors that affect market value.

Some of the top influencers are:

Location -- the market your property is located in,

the amenities in and around your property,

and the proximity to employment opportunities and schools;

Supply and demand -- the number of available houses compared to the number of buyers;

Construction Cost -- the cost of replacing or building similar structures, additions to or remodeling of an existing structure;

and the main driving force affecting market value is the local economy.

Will the reappraisal affect my tax bill?

The appraised value is only one piece of your tax bill.

The county manager reviews the financial needs of the county and, after preparing the project cost,

the county commissioners adopt the budget and set the tax rate.

The tax rate is then applied to each property's value to determine the amount of tax to be paid.

Cities and towns will also use the tax value to set their own tax rates.

This is an opportunity to equalize the tax burden among all property owners and all types of property.

The only issue the tax office can address is the appraised value.

How does it benefit homeowners?

Like all North Carolina counties, Johnston County depends on property tax to fund programs and services for its citizens.

The county has limited sources of revenue, so the collection of property tax is an important part of funding education,

law enforcement,

emergency services,

public health,

social services and other programs.

Reappraisal is always a challenge.

The goal is to simultaneously appraise thousands of properties in a way that is equitable for all property owners.

We are committed to working with property owners to ensure that every property is appraised at a reasonable estimate of its market value as of January 1, 2019.

As always, if you have any questions or need additional information, we are here to assist you.

Please visit our website or call our office to speak with one of our employees.
