Now lets get to todays list of the Top 10 Video Game Movies We Can't Wait To See

#10 Gears of War

Thats right gear heads a movie is in the works for Gears of War and we couldnt be more excited.

For those of you who dont know Gears of War is a third person shooter that follows the

members of Delta Squad.

They are a team of soldiers who are given the task to save humans on the planet Sera.

However the idea for the movie is not going to be entirely based on one game storyline,

but will be creating a new story within the Gears of War universe.

This is exciting because the script will be worked on by screenwriter Shane Salerno who

also wrote the first Avatar sequel.

#9 Portal

When valve created Portal I bet they could have never imagined in their wildest dreams

that one day they would have JJ Abrams on the red carpet hinting at working with them

on a movie.

While the release date is still set to be announced this video game movie would be incredible.

The clip we showed is just a fan concept, but if Abrams is involved you know its going

to be next level.

#8 Minecraft Despite losing their director the Minecraft

movie is still set to be released in 2020.

With Warner Brothers on their side this movie will happen just not as soon as we had hoped.

Currently the plot for the movie involves Steve being the only person in his village

that doesnt fit in.

However one day while mining he meets Klunk and together they will go on to have some

crazy adventures.

Currently Steve Carrel is being rumored to play Steve so theres also that to by psyched

for.

#7 Sonic The Hedgehog

Gotta include Sonic on this list as video game movie adapations we cant wait to see.

It also made us wonder what took so long to finally get this live action movie of the

Sega classic going.

So far the cast features Jim Carrey as the villain Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden from Westworld

and Parks and Rec star Ben Schwartz in the title role.

Sure itll be a lot of CGI, but that will definitely assist in bringing this franchise to life

with the release date set for November 8th, 2019.

#6 The Witcher

Based off of the successful Castlevania series Netflix is going to take a swing at bringing

to life the Witcher.

I mean technically the game is based on novels, but those were transformed into the wildly

popular rpg that we know today.

Now with Netflix its going to be an eight part series, which feel like longform movies

and seems to be the only way to truly tell this story.

#5 Monster Hunter

The Monster Hunter movie will tell a story of two heroes who come from different worlds

to defeat a shared danger.

That danger is the powerful and deadly monsters that roam the land.

Currently British director Paul WS Anderson who brought Resident Evil to life is teaming

up with Capcom to make this movie.

That alone gives us an extreme amount of confidence this film will be a hit success.

#4 Halo

For years fans of Halo have been waiting for a movie to be birthed from this insanely popular

game and after a few false starts it looks as though we will be getting our wish.

Apparently Showtime will be bringing a 10 episode live action series based on the first

person shooter.

The details on the storyline are still air tight, but Rupert Wyatt who directed Rise

of the planet of the apes is on board and it will be produced by Steven Spielbergs Amblin

Television so those are all good signs.

#3 Detective Pikachu

When this trailer dropped we couldnt have been more excited.

Especially with Ryan Reynolds voicing the character of Pikachu what could go wrong.

Not to mention Goosebumps and Shark Tale director Rob Letterman will be in charge and with the

angle of Pikachu acting as a detective it gives the series a fresh storyline for Pokemon

fans everywhere.

The movie also has Pokemon and people living side by side which will give viewers a hilarious

insight into that relationship.

#2 God of War

The new God of War game has made Kratos more popular than ever before so with that we have

to expect a movie adaptation in the works.

There was a God of War movie about Japanese pirates, but we all know the real God of War

is a buff bald guy.

Even Pacific Rim Uprising director Steven S. DeKnight has been hitting up Sony to make

this movie happen with Dave Bautisa rumored to play the role of Kratos.

#1 Five Nights at Freddys

For about three years now this popular point and click horror adventure video game has

been rumored to be in the works for a movie.

So far we know that Chris Columbus will be writing and directing the film for Blumhouse

Productions.

They have yet to release any production details or release dates, but the idea of a robot

bear going on a murderous rampage just sounds like movie magic in our eyes.
