In this video we're going to discuss our top
five video ideas for content marketers.
Sometimes it may be difficult to come up
with your initial video idea
or topic.
Hi I'm Dave with Nickel City Graphics
and today we're going to discuss why these videos
could help you kick start a video marketing campaign
or help you incorporate video into your content marketing
strategy. By having high quality video topics
you'll be able to effectively execute your marketing
strategy.
Say what you want about Twitter, but every second
700 YouTube videos get shared.
It may be difficult to put that into perspective.
Ultimately it just goes to show how important
video is to your content marketing strategy.
It's so easy to share
and acts as a social currency.
Before you turn your camera and your lights,
you're going to need something to talk about.
Now these aren't the only video topics
but they'll definitely will help you get started.
Our first idea involves interviewing someone.
This could be a testimonial
but it doesn't have to be.
You might want to consider finding an expert in
a related field,
who you can sit down with
and have a chat with.
Figure out some questions you are your target audience
me like they have answered
and then fire away.
With this, you're really looking to gain industry knowledge
from a seasoned veteran who knows a thing
or two about the industry.
Here's an example.
Let's say you're working on a marketing plan
for an automotive company
or car dealership. You're to help
with generating brand awareness
and to work on some videos for internal use.
You can find an employee
or manager who has been in the car business for years.
Sit down with that person ask some simple questions
about how long they've been in the business,
how things have changed over time
and some tips they'd like to get the potential new people.
Since this person is a seasoned pro,
they're going to have a frame of reference that not many
others have.
You can do a simple recording set up
and create multiple video for social media
based off of this conversation.
Idea number two is about going behind the scenes.
What kind of work goes into the products
or services you're looking to create content for?
What are some things that your employees are really good
at? Is there something you like potential customers
to know about your brand in a fun way?
Showcasing a particular person
or process in video form could be the ideal
way that demonstrates the behind the scenes work
process to your viewers.
Record this as an interview style,
like a vlog or combine the two together.
Do whatever will tell the story best.
Depending on how much content you're looking to produce,
these videos end up going all over social
media. Having a YouTube channel where you can develop
the community around your brand would be
awesome. You could also have someone this constant
live on something like Facebook
or Instagram.
Our next idea involves a recording a tutorial.
This goes back to the O.G. days of YouTube.
And since YouTube is the second largest search engine
you have a lot of potential to gain organic traffic
here. Some people are able to follow something step
by step after reading it.
Others prefer to see a video on the subject
to watch how everything is supposed to be done exactly.
Keeping this in mind,
you can make a video tutorial accompanied
with a written one, say in the form of a blog post.
This way people can decide if they rather watch
it or read your tutorial.
In this case everybody wins.
Here's an example.
Let's say you're helping a small mom
and pop pizza shop create some digital
content to help with brand awareness.
Everybody loves pizza so why not make a video
and a blog post on how to make a simple pizza
from scratch. Like we're talking,
making the homemade dough to putting it
and taking it out of the oven.
This process can be long complicated for some people.
Having a video live alongside written blog post,
in this case, it's basically a recipe,
will ensure people will follow everything exactly.
And don't worry the pizza shop doesn't have to give away
their secret recipe.
Video idea number 4 is about
teasing something new.
You know how movies like to make teaser trailers?
Thinks something like that.
Are you coming out with a new product
or service soon
and offering it? Creating a teaser video was
a good way to gain some attention for the upcoming
announcement or release.
Just like how a movie teaser trailer works this
will help generate some hype
and buzz surrounding your brand.
Give people a small sampling of what's to come.
This is also an opportunity to show the fun side
of your business and share some humor.
I would recommend keeping it appropriate for the industry
you're in or the industry you're making constant for.
Ultimately, keep it short
and sweet so you can focus on relating value
for what's to come.
Last at number 5 is about giving thanks.
Did your company just close an incredible year of
sales and growth?
Did you just wrap up a successful product launch.
You can share your gratitude by making a thank you
video. Since video does an excellent job
of conveying emotion
and humanizing your brand,
it will achieve a lot with the small package.
It's a great way to show potential new customers how
successful and humble your company is.
Not to mention these things mean pretty easy to produce.
With a smartphone camera,
good audio and the lighting you'll be able to whip
something up in no time.
And there you have it.
