Waching daily Feb 26 2018

Hello, welcome to Ellenikitchen. Today, we are going

to prepare some swordfish rolls, but first of all,

roll the intro!

Today, we'll prepare some swordfish rolls, also known as "Myrmidons",

a name that comes from the classical myth of the goddess Thetis.

The ingredients for this recipe are...

Grated parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt,

garlic, origan, black pepper,

rosemary, well-washed capers,

parsley, stale bread,

and... swordfish, ready for carpaccio.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE ROLLS: 200 grams of swordfish 100 grams of grated parmesan cheese

Stale bread Capers Garlic

Lemon Origan

The most important thing for this recipe is the sauce that we must prepare before anything else.

Made with,

minced garlic, parsley

olive oil, salt and pepper,

and the juice of one lemon.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE SAUCE: The juice of one lemon Olive oil Chopped parsley

Garlic Origan Black pepper Salt

Let's start making the rolls.

Use a mixer to mix bread,

stale bread, of course, previously soaked in water,

garlic,

parsley,

and capers,

speaking of capers... we know that they

were mostly used in the medical and in the cosmetic field

but we also know that Aristotle referred to them as "edible flowers"

while Pliny the Elder

used them to figure out which region he was visiting at that particular moment

Now, let's mix the filling of our rolls...

After mixing everything up, we'll have a mixture that'll look like this.

Next, let's add parmesan cheese,

properly grated,

three tablespoons of olive oil,

and salt.

Now, let's blend everything together

until we have a soft and yummy filling for our rolls

Now, let's form our Myrmidons.

Let's take the filling we made before

and the swordfish,

cut in very thin slices.

Let's see,

first we take the swordfish...

what a delicious smell!

and... who are you?! What are you doing in my kitchen?!

I am Thetis, the most beautiful one of the Nereids.

I have the gift of metamorphosis-!

Yeah, yeah, right...

Just let me cook...

...whatever I'm cooking here.

HOW DARE YOU INTERRUPT ME, DAUGHTER OF NEREUS AND DORIS,

WIFE OF THE KING OF PHTHIA, PELEUS

AND MOTHER OF ACHILLES THE SHARP FOOT, THE STRONGEST OF HEROES!

Yes, yes... I don't have time for your rubbish...

just let me cook my Myrmidons.

NO!

My men!

Those that went past the walls of Troy to avenge the death of my beloved son,

and that I, have turned into this fish,

now MAIN PART of your meal!

So I could help them escape a cruel fate...

I am so enraged!

These deities are far more capricious than us...

But, let's keep cooking our Myrmidons, following the process we stated before.

Now, we can "close" our rolls with a small branch of rosemary.

If that's too difficult for you, you can just use some toothpicks.

After making sure everything is closed up nicely, let's put them in a pan and cook them on medium heat.

And here are our Myrmidons!

Aaah... if only the goddess Thetis could taste them, she'd regret getting that angry...

And so, here I am!

Again...

Did you call for me?

No...

I'll taste them...

But only because I want to.

Not so bad, after all!

Transforming my men into swordfish was such a good idea!

Peter Leong - Are we there yet? - The Bible is a cookbook

The Bible is a cookbook

For those who are interested in the end times

I'm not a great cook by any chance

but I love a good and simple recipe when I'm preparing a dish for the family.

A good recipe will always tell us the ingredients for the dish as well as the estimated time that would take to complete it

We establish in the first video that God is not a God of surprises. Hence, the Lord does give us good details

about what will happen at the end of times.

He identified two things: 1. the key ingredients that

go into the dish

as well as 2. How long it will take to cook up the dish, and that dish is called 'The day of the Lord'

Let me talk about the ingredients.

I love to begin with the words of Jesus because

Whenever Jesus spoke to his disciples. He tended to make it clear

Remember, three times Jesus for voice impending death at his first coming

Now the reason why Jesus did it is simply because Jesus walked alongside with his disciples

Whether it was eating, drinking, or if I may even say it without being politically correct

Sharing simple human activities like showering and even toileting

That intimacy must have motivated him to share openly with them

Interestingly

He never displayed a form of holiness that isolated himself from them except when he went alone to pray to the Father

Hence we must pay close attention particularly FIRST AND FOREMOST to what he said about the end times

in all three synoptic gospels, Jesus

gave us these ingredients, and I'll read them to you

There will be wars and rumors of wars; nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.

There will be famines and there'll be earthquakes.

He called all of the above the beginning of birth pangs

Then he went on and added more ingredients, but after and over and above the first three ingredients

He said, they'll deliver you up to tribulation and who is you? Christians? And they will put you to death

You'll be hated by all nations for my name's sake or for the name of Jesus (Definitely seems like Christians)

Many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. Lawlessness will increase.

Love of many will grow cold.

believers must endure (Note:ENDURE)

because times will be tough

and the gospel will be preached throughout the world as a testimony to all nations

and

then the end will come (the completion of the dish - The Day of the Lord)

Now enough said about the ingredients, which I'll go deeper in another video, but I'm gonna focus on timing right now

Many Christians say that we will never know when the Lord will return. They quote 1Thessalonians 5 :2

That says the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night

and that's all true but

If the Lord gave us signposts, does it not help to tell us the time of the seasons

Hence we actually have to carry on reading 1 Thessalonians and go into

Chapter 5, verse 4 (1 Thes 5:4)

in it

Paul explained, "but you are not in darkness for that day to surprise you like a thief"

Who is you again? Christians

Why? Because we are

children of light and children of the day

So if we walk intimately with him, we will know the

seasons

The biggest hint of when the Lord will return lies in concept of the Sabbath.

The Lord instituted the Sabbath as a time of rest.

And we know that in Revelation chapter 20 (Rev 20) that there will be a thousand years of peace on earth when the Lord returns,

the concept believers call the Millennium.

2 Peter 3:8 says

With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years

If that's the case, then the marker has been set for the end to be

the six thousand year mark.

Here's the question

When is this mark?

God showed me the significance of calendars even as I was writing this book, Are we there yet?

Our calendar tells us that we are

2018 two zero one eight

from the birth of Christ

But is it six thousand and eighteen years since the creation of Adam?

Are you aware for example that the civil calendar that we are using is really slightly more than two hundred fifty years old

The Jews ...

they not only follow the civil calendar, but they have the Jewish calendar and the Jewish calendar indicates that this year

(right now - Civil Year 2018) we are in year 5778 and they measure it from the creation of Adam

So do we use the Jewish calendar or the civil calendar to measure the timing of Christ's return?

Now let me throw one more spanner in the works

Do you know that the Bible indicates a year to be 360 days long and not

365.2419 days

Because the Bible doesn't really follow a solar pattern (a solar year)

If you read Rev 11:2-3 and Genesis 6-8, it will give you

greater insights into seeing how

to the Bible, a year is actually 360 days long

Now you probably say that it is complicated enough

but fear not, a devout Christian and a former London deputy police commissioner a

guy by the name of Sir Robert Anderson, a very smart man no doubt

did some very good work and the

timing is a little bit hidden

and

it takes a little bit of determination to work it through but if we follow the work of Sir Robert Anderson

We will figure that out. We will know

the closeness of them

Now I've unwound the timing in my book using Sir Robert Anderson's

Initial work research

Yes, it will give you an indication, but you must remember and be aware that cooking is never precise

There will be variations

God is not a God of surprises. Believers who walk intimately with him will know the seasons

Thank you

HCOM Video - Duration: 1:08.

In the last seventy years, antibiotics have been produced on an industrial scale, which

has resulted in the dissemination of antibiotics in an environment that has never been exposed

to these compounds before.

As a result, it has without a doubt fostered an increase in antibiotic resistance amongst humans.

Antibiotic resistance happens when bacteria change and become resistant to the antibiotics used to treat the infections they cause.

Examples include overprescribing of antibiotics, patients not finishing their treatment course,

or overuse of antibiotics in livestock.

They also include poor infection control, lack of hygiene or poor sanitation, and lack

of new antibiotics being developed.

What you can do.

Obtain a prescription from a certified healthcare provider.

Finish your entire course of antibiotics.

Never use leftover antibiotics.

Never share your antibiotics.

Practice good hygiene and hand washing techniques.

2018 Montgomery County Heart Ball Open Your Heart Video featuring Halle Spivey - Duration: 9:01.

(light music)

(monitor beeping)

(flat lining)

- When we found out that Halle was gonna have a heart defect

I was at that appointment by myself that day

and it was kinda scary.

- Autumn came up to my work,

and obviously you could something was wrong.

She was already a little upset

and she'd been crying, you could tell.

So I asked if we lost the baby

because I knew she'd gone to the appointment.

And that's when she started to kinda describe

what they had seen.

- Yeah, she had a very complicated heart defect.

We put it in category of single ventricle heart defect.

So you should have two pumping chambers,

two collecting chambers, and in a certain subset of children

they're born with really only one good pumping chamber

and that's what her defect was, is single ventricle.

- It just kinda felt surreal a little bit

that we're about to have a heart baby

and once we have her everything's just gonna start.

And what's gonna happens first and second,

and all those types of things.

- We were still in the operating room

and Britt was next to me.

And they laid her on my chest

and I got to hold her for a second for a few pictures.

- [Britt] In that moment though, she looked so healthy

that you didn't realize

what was actually going on inside of her.

- The operation that Halle had when she was three day old

was a complicated operation.

She was born, as we said, with a single pumping chamber.

But also a very small blood vessel

that went out to the body.

The aorta was very small.

So what we did was we rebuilt the way the blood comes out

of the heart and get to the body

so that we were getting blood flow to the body.

And then we had to also provide her

with blood flow to the lungs.

So we put in a, well call it a shunt.

It's a small tube that takes some of the blood going out

to the body and sends it back to the lungs.

- But when Halle was six weeks old,

she had an emergency surgery

because her right coronary artery wasn't getting blood

to the heart like it should.

Ever since Dr. Heinle went in and performed that procedure

it's been fine and it has been unchanged.

So her heart is actually doing better.

When Halle was about five months old,

we were down on 415 and we were four days away

from leaving and all she had was her NG tube.

She didn't have any wires connected to her at all,

none of the leads.

It was great.

It was like having a brand new baby.

But that day, that specific Saturday

I just noticed she was very fussy.

Her heart rate was a lot higher than normal

and her breathing was really fast.

But we had been weaning off of one of her meds

and so I just thought she was having withdrawals.

- It was just a Saturday night and we were sitting here

and Autumn called me later on that evening,

maybe seven or eight.

And basically said there's some complications

and they don't really know what's going on

but they're gonna do an echo.

And then they did the echo, which was pretty quick.

And Autumn said they're gonna move her back up to the CVICU.

- Dr. Dickerson came out and told me

that they couldn't get a line in.

They couldn't get access.

So they were gonna have to do an IO,

which is an intraosseous IV.

- So then Autumn calls up back later and said

that they were going to have to intubate.

Which we know that that can cause problems

if the heart's not working the way it's suppose to be.

So we knew that there were a risk in doing that.

- I watched from the window as they started to intubate.

And I saw Dr. Ahmed start doing compressions.

And I just knew at that time that she had coded.

So they were preforming CPR.

And standing outside the window and Britt wasn't there.

He was here, up in College Station with Charlie.

- And then I'm on my way to Houston

and Autumn calls me.

She's just trying to let me know what's going on.

- Dr. Ahmed called me into the room

while they were still preforming CPR

and told me that they'd been doing it for about 15 minutes

and they were only probably gonna do it for another 15.

I was standing in the corner just watching her on the table

and I hear him call last pulse check.

- You know, we're basically just on the phone at that moment

thinking that this is the end of our child's life.

- So they stopped and I hear; no pulse.

And then again, another nurse called out; no pulse.

So they pulled me over Halle

while I'm on the phone with Britt

and I'm telling her goodbye and that I love her.

And I leaned over and kissed her hand.

- And then, just out of nowhere Autumn stops talking,

and I can't really hear anything.

I'm just waiting, like; what is going on?

In that moment you're thinking; I'm losing my baby.

But we didn't.

- Next thing I hear is; get a line in.

And I stepped back to get out of the way.

And she made it.

- I mean, it's nothing something that you can explain.

You feel like your child is gone

and then in a split second they're back.

Now we're moving forward with meds

and moving forward with next steps,

and where are we going to do this,

and how are we going to do this.

- We're so grateful that she's still here with us today.

But the IV that they had placed had leaked out

into her blood vessels, which caused them to constrict

and kept her leg from having any blood flow

for those 27 minutes that she coded.

And her leg never regained blood flow and they ended up

having to amputate through the knee.

You can't necessarily see that a child has had heart surgery

because the scar is hidden.

But with Halle, she doesn't have a leg.

So that's one thing that they do notice and see with her

and it's a conversation starter.

And so we are able to share her story

and spread awareness for it.

- One of the things that really got Halle

to be where she is today was CPR.

She was basically given CPR for 27 minutes while she coded.

And that's something that The American Heart Association,

we have them to thank for.

- Biggest thing I can think about Halle

is that she's a fighter.

She had a long, long hospital course.

Multiple operations and interventions,

and just a trooper through the whole thing.

She probably gets that from her mom.

'Cause her mom was a fighter and a trooper through that.

- I want other parents and families to know that

congenital heart defects are more common that you may think.

It effects one in 100 babies.

And I just want them to have awareness

and know that it could be any child.

Video 1 God is not a God of surprises - Duration: 7:24.

Peter Leong - Are we there yet? - God is not a God of surprises ...

God is not a God of surprises

My name is Peter Leong, and this is the first video that I'm making to explain my book

Are we there yet? A book about the second coming of Christ.

A little bit of background by myself. I'm a first generation

Christian

Although I have been walking with the Lord for a long time

I would say more than 40 years

I originally came from Singapore but I now call, Auckland, New Zealand, my home since 1999

My love for the second coming began way back in 1980s

When I read a book by Mary Stewart Relfe

When money fails!

The book is about the universal barcode

system

Being part of the upcoming 666 system

But it was written at a point in time when the barcode system was still in its infancy

So not many people really know that

Many preachers

past and present

preached about the second coming as if it will be happening in their generation

Now, in fact, since the days of the New Testament church the apostles had reminded the audience that they were living in the last days

In 1 John 2:18 the Apostle John called the days that he was living in - 'the last hour'

Throughout the centuries people had attempted to make predictions

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, was one of them who came up with a projected doomsday

year of

1836

Then there was Sir Isaac Newton (eminent scientist who discovered gravity)

who studied the Book of Daniel and scribbled the year

2060 in some notes in what many suspected to be his prediction of when the Lord will return

Hence it is not surprising that even in our current days

preachers are declaring that we are living at the edge of time and the Lord will come back anytime soon

Before I proceed, I would like to establish a key principle

in terms of studying the end times and that is when we

must actually know God as a person

In Psalm 103:7

the Psalmist reminded us that he made known his ways to Moses and his acts to the children of Israel.

Again in Jeremiah 9:24,

Jeremiah explained that God wants us to know and understand him personally

much like a person; a person with characteristics

Hence in studying the end times, we must know God as a person and there are two characteristics that I would like to highlight

1. The God of the Bible does not lie and that's an important thing. He always keeps his promises

How do we know that? He made it known explicitly to Balaam

when Balak, the king of Moab,

hired him to curse Israel

instead Balaam replied and

prophesied that God is not a man that he should lie or the son of man that he should change his mind

Has he said and will he not do

Has he spoken and will he not fulfilled it and

throughout the Bible God demonstrated why he could be trusted and

That's the reason why we have to be faithful to the Lord

Hence if the Lord says he will return

He will return indeed

The second most important point is this and

some of you might be surprised, but God of the Bible is someone who does not take his people by surprise

And this is the point that I wanna make

Especially so for people who walk intimately with him and whom he considers as his friends

When God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, did he hide his plans from Abraham?

No, in fact when the Lord visited Abraham and

announced that Sarah would give birth to a son, he shared his concerns

regarding Sodom with Abraham.

It was the same with Jesus. Jesus warned the Apostle Peter that he would disown him three times

Well, Peter didn't believe Jesus, but just as Jesus predicted

Peter DID deny Jesus three times and

Peter only realized that when the rooster crowed.

Now consider the experience of Jesus

during his first coming.

Did he hide his plans that he will eventually be killed?

Not so.

In fact he mentioned to his disciples not once, not twice, but three times

That he will be killed and in fact described to them how he would be killed in all three synoptic gospels of

Matthew, Mark, and Luke

Each time he would tell them in plain Aramaic. Let me give you an example in Matthew -

Matthew 16:21 he said he told his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem

That he must suffer many things from the elders

the chief priests and

the scribes

That he must be killed, and that on the third day. He would be raised

Again in Matthew 17: 22-23, he added more details about what sort of death

he would

be going through

He would be delivered into the hands of man. He would be killed and he would be raised on the third day and

Finally Matthew 20:17-19

He concluded by saying to him they would deliver him over to the Gentiles to be mocked

flogged and finally crucified

Amazingly none of his disciples picked up on what he was saying

You remember he mentioned it three times. It was only after his death and resurrection

that they remembered his words

now here's the $54 million

($54 million) question if his dearest and closest twelve disciples could miss this very

information, which he had made plainly to them,

is it possible that we too

may missed out on some vital

plain information

that he had given in the gospels regarding his second coming

God is not a God of surprises. Over the next few videos. I will show you some of these plain information.

Thank you.
