Canvas Navigation Video - Duration: 3:42.Welcome this video will quickly guide you on how to learn more about your
course and how to navigate your Canvas classroom. Whether you are taking courses
at Baker on campus, online or a blend of both, you will use Canvas in some way. So,
it's important to learn. Let's get started. This only takes a few minutes.

When you first open Canvas you came to the home page
containing module icons for this course. Depending on the delivery of your
courses there could be any number of modules shown. It depends on the
coursework and also your instructor when they choose to release access to each
module. To learn more about this course, clicking the next button will take you
to faculty information. This is where you can learn more about your instructor.
Clicking Next again takes you to the Baker College institutional policies.
This document contains important College and classroom policies such as the
grading scale, the student handbook, attendance policy and more.
Course description and textbook information provides a summary of the course and any
textbook requirements. Assignment summary is where you review the course
assignments due dates and point values. Student learning outcomes and enabling
objectives contains information on what you can expect to achieve by taking this
course. Learning outcomes and the assignment alignment table shows how the
assignments in the course are aligned to student learning outcomes.
Academic and student resources information is where you will find many
services Baker College offers you - such as the library and information on
tutoring. Technical skills and requirements and accessibility and
privacy information list the basic computer and document management skills
you should have to successfully complete your course and the privacy information
policies for the software you might use in your coursework. If you continue to
click Next, you'll be directed to the materials in the module. Now let's learn
more about Canvas and that takes us to the navigation menu. The home button
takes you to the page you landed on when you logged in. Here you can access the
student information we just reviewed or you can access any module on the page.
Announcements is where you will find important messages from your instructor,
be sure to check this often. Modules takes you to the landing page containing
only your course modules. You can access a module at any time from anywhere in
Canvas by selecting this button. By the way, a majority of your classes will
require online discussions. Your instructors will incorporate your
discussions within the modules. Grades are where you can check your outcomes on
your assignments along with any instructor feedback. To leave grades
click on the back button or the course name at the top of the screen. Finally,
people allows you to contact your instructor, individual classmates or a
selected group. You will use Canvas in some way for all
of your courses here at Baker so it's something you need to know. But like any
technology from using the newest smartphone to downloading the latest app
Canvas quickly feels like you've known it all of your life. Plus, always remember
Baker faculty and staff are here to help you succeed so don't hesitate to ask .
