what's up guys Steve Mayeda here and today is Friday we're gonna try
something new this Friday that is super cool it's short film Friday and one of
the things that I've always loved throughout my teens into my 20s and
built a business in my 30s and now my 40s and remembering again is filmmaking
it's just such an awesome awesome art so short film Friday is basically a
short film that I made during the week this one's called the philosophy of love
I shot it with my four kids there's a lot of in front and a a beautiful
beautiful thing so I hope you like it let me know in the comments section what
you dig what you don't dig what you'd want to see I've been putting up a
couple short films before I officially made a short film Friday and this one's
got that kind of terrence malick Koyaanisqatsi
wong kar-wai feel to it but i'm capable hopefully of much more anyway let's get
started so there's this thing about humanity
we forgot it's like we always want to replace it with what works what
distracts us what avoids pain what feels good and when we look closely enough and
we slow things down we start to look what we see is as we see
there's painting there's moss there's all the scope of humanity right there in
front of us always we can see clearly what's human and what's not and then
when we speed things up or we look out from a distance what we see is we see
numbers we see spats we see things that we can organize and control and analyze
humanity becomes objectified our feelings our thoughts our love all these
different things become an equation of how one of the biggest struggles for
Humanity is that we see one without the other we see a world that's moving fast
when we analyze things when we think that that now has replaced slowing
things down a long-term lease all things being
worked for and so on but we don't see that humanity we don't see that slowness
we don't see the value of the human spirit the individual connection the
one-on-one experience what we have within us and of course efficiency
moving things systems methods all these different things are so important but
without that simple slow perspective of humanity that connection that empathy
human touch we lose our spirit and rather than experiencing rather
expressing
by knocking see what makes us human is it takes time
it takes pain it will take experience loss see our spirit needs us to be raw
all the time our spirit needs us to be naked to be influenced completely by the
world around us so that we can influence that world ourselves and this is what
gives us our great value see that human spirit that power within
that's what I'm talking about in every single one
videoblogs my calls my working with clients is how can we do that how can we
relate and connect with people on that how can we build our world
with ourselves how can we build our world with our spirit all of our valuing
with all of those things so much you know how we see this world
how we see our friends how we see our connections how we see each
and how we see ourselves is what makes us you and that's really what
