Technology Topics Project Reflective Video - Duration: 2:36.

Hello everyone. My name is Charlie Ellis and this is my technology topics project

reflective video. To start off, I thought the project went extremely well, not only

within my group, but also for the class as a whole. Based upon the comments on my

group's video as well as the results from the project post-test,

I can confidently say that the students learned what we intended to teach them.

In matter of fact, this project really helped to demonstrate how an assessment

can provide valuable information about student learning. Although we did obtain

much success, there were many challenges that we faced to get to our end result.

One major problem that my group ran into that could have been disastrous is

when we first put all of our recordings together as one piece, we were severely

short of the minimum time limit. This was so nerve-wracking because unfortunately,

my group could not meet again before the project due date. We started to scramble,

and a couple of the group members completely took over the project and

recorded the whole thing themselves. I and another group member were not even

featured in the final project, but luckily we had made our own recordings

and were able to present those to the class to show the work that we put in

and the research that we had conducted. On the flip side, a definite highlight of

the project was that all students were able to work together in order to

educate one another on important subject matters. In fact, the other groups were so

effective with educating the rest of the students on their topics that I feel

that I will now be a better teacher in the future, all thanks to this project. As

stated before, I thought that the technology topics project was a huge

success, but one thing that I would love to see changed is that the professor

and TAs in the class will choose the groups. As pre-service teachers, we are always

taught to never have the students choose their own groups, and that this is a task

that must be taken into the hands of a teacher. I feel as if this needs to be

exhibited in the classroom that we are in right now in order to provide a

proper example for future teachers. As for the actual content of the project, I

thought that it was a great format to allow for maximum learning for all

parties involved. Finally, I've never really had any

personal experience of online learning, but I think that it is a fabulous method

of teaching that can be used in any classroom and can help

a multitude of students. Although online learning and face-to-face classroom

learning may be very different, there are many benefits to both that can have the

same effect, it just depends on the type of learner you are presenting the
