Vision Video: Digital Literacy in My Future Classroom - Duration: 2:31.

Hello, and welcome to my vision for digital literacy in my future classroom!

By me, Jennifer Paolini.

My goal as a teacher is to inspire my students, build their confidence, and push them to their

full potential.

I want my students to be empowered learners, realizing their own potentials and achieving

their own goals.

By integrating technology into my classroom, I have countless ways to encourage students

to go above and beyond, and I have millions of tools at my disposal to reach my students

and make my instruction as meaningful as possible.

I want to incorporate using technology in my classroom because it provides students

with more opportunities, whether it be by using assistive technology to aid students

with special needs, allowing learning through multiple means to differentiate my instruction,

or exposing my students to coding and other technology tools that bring the power to create

right to their fingertips.

Technology provides me with more ways to increase access to learning and appeal to my students'

different learning modalities and strengths.

Technology can be weaved throughout curriculum in Language Arts, Math, Science, Social studies,

music, dance, art, and more!

Learning can become more meaningful, more engaging, and more personalized when technology

is added into the mix.

Technology integration can encourage students to solve real-life problems and create meaningful

work.

It provides opportunities for students to connect with others around the globe.

Students can share their work with the world and publish it to a meaningful audience, as

well as learn for others from a diversity of cultures.

Without technology, these sort of connections and collaboration would not be possible.

Current tech frameworks and standards, such as ISTE and SAMR, help guide my beliefs.

SAMR pushes me to consider not just how I can substitute technology in my lessons, but

how can I use technology to modify and redefine my lessons to bring my students to learning

that would never be possible before.

ISTE helps me consider my learners and focus on what I kind of learners I want my students

to become.

I want my students to be empowered and contribute to the world by creating, innovating, and

collaborating with others.

Technology can help me make that happen.
