I am at the Terminal 2 of Kuala Lumpur Airport
Over there is the Terminal-1
I am going back to India
I just met an officer of 'Tourism Malaysia' at the airport
Now I am going to ask him some questions which may be beneficial for anyone travelling first time
I am thankful to Mr Alvi, the tourist officer who spared his valuable time for us
Let me give you a basic introduction
Malaysia is divided into 2 parts
This is Peninsular Malaysia
This is East Malaysia or Borneo
There are 2 provinces - Sabah and Sarawak in Borneo
This is the mainland
Kuala Lumpur is located here
Thailand is in the North and Singapore is in the South of Malaysia
The city center of Kuala Lumpur is called KL SENTRAL
Pay 55 Ringgit to reach KL Sentral from KLIA2 in KLIA EKSPRES
& 12 Ringgit to reach KL Sentral from this airport if you are going in a bus
Bus takes 1 hour whereas the Ekspres train takes 1/2 an hour
China town is famous for night life, Chinese food and shopping
My hostel was adjacent to the Central Market. It is again a happening place
If you are interested in local handicrafts and culture, then you should visit Central Market
Malaysia celebrated its 60th Independence day in 2017
Merdeka square has got a significant importance in the history of Malaysia
At Merdeka Square the Union Flag was lowered and the Malayan flag hoisted for the first time at midnight on 31 August 1957.
Since then, Merdeka Square has been the usual venue for the annual Merdeka Parade (National Day Parade)
Visit Kumpung Baru if you are a foodie
I enjoyed the airconditioned 'Go KL' buses in Kuala Lumpur to visit many places. They are free of cost for everyone
There are free buses for Bukit Bintang, famous for night life
So this was the rough itinerary for a day. You can break it into two days for your convineance
You can also do a day trip to Melaka
