board of directors and that's considering the adoption of IFRSs in the

near future. The company has ambitious growth plans which involve extensive

trading with foreign companies and the possibility of acquiring at least one of

its trading partners a subsidiary in the near future. And we have 6 marks to

identify the advantages that Baxen could gain by adopting IFRSs for

its finance reporting purposes. The marks have to guide you: 6 marks. I will be

trying to do 6 different points. What are the advantages of Baxen adopting

IFRSs. Number : IFRSs - they are a set of high-quality and also

transparent standards and therefore companies who adopt IFRSs, they're going

to benefit from certain advantages. How? Their financial statements will be

consistent, they can be comparable across the world.

Baxen uses IFRSs, it's going to improve its status, its

reputation. As a result Baxon will have a simpler task to consolidate. Remember

we were told that Baxen is thinking of acquiring

a subsidiary in the near future. Therefore there was no need to reconcile

the differences which arise by using different standards. It's going to be

easier to raise financing, to get a listing. Remember this is a public listed

company. Easier to get a listing on any security exchange member of IOSCO. As a

result if it is easier to trace finance, it's going to be

cheaper to raise finance, it would result in lower finance costs. Also by using

standards which are comprehensive, which are transparent,

this would result in cheaper audit fees.
