I get asked a lot how many times do I need to upload a video to YouTube so in
the month of August I took it upon myself to upload every single day so
that was 31 videos in 31 days and I decided to take this challenge to try
different strategies and techniques to see what really works so that I could
share that with you so in today's video I'm going to share with you my key
takeaways from posting a video every single day hey guys my name is Trena and
welcome to another episode of just the tips on this channel I provide online
business owners tips tricks and strategies on how they can use YouTube
video in their business like I said today I'm going to walk you through
everything that I learned by posting daily for an entire month
first things first the only way to do this is to batch film so pick a day and
start filming so for me it ended up being every single week so one day a
week I would film all seven videos that's the only way I could stay
consistent in posting is by batch filming so you're all probably wanting
to know wasn't worth it did the numbers show it was worth to post every single
day so I'm gonna break this down into subscribers viewers watch time and also
talk to you a little bit about my analytics so with subscribers I want you
to understand that subscribers aren't the end-all be-all here on YouTube what
is the end-all be-all is the amount of watch time minutes you get whether
that's on a video or across your entire channel so for me in August posting
every single day I gained 140 subscribers 90 of those subscribers came
directly from my channel homepage and then 52 of those subscribers subscribed
from actual videos so they watched a video and they either click that circle
button or they click the subscribe button down below this video
now I compared that with Jun because in July I had a video that kind of threw
things off so I compared this to statistics in June where I post twice a
week in June I had gained 77 subscribers now the more important number is let's
talk watch time minutes in August I got 17,000 585 watch time minutes whereas in
June I had 13,000 752 so be
basically a 2,000 minute increase by uploading every single day now if these
numbers are starting to get boring for you and you want to see it on paper I
did an entire blog post over on my website so I'll link to that blog post
down below so you can really see it broken down so next thing I want to talk
about is the traffic source that drew people to my videos because this is
really going to help me determine do I need to focus on Pinterest do I need to
focus on Facebook do I need to be on every single platform which platform is
the most beneficial for my channel and I found something interesting so in both
months in August and in June my number one traffic source came from external
meaning website Pinterest Facebook but let me break this down just a little bit
more in August I wasn't posting my video to my website every single time because
I wanted to see if it was really beneficial and it was so I was a 23%
traffic that came from external sources in August only 19% of that came from my
website whereas in June when I was posting every single video to my website
37 percent of the traffic came from my website now I know these numbers are
starting to get a little confusing I'll leave them all down in the description
box so you can really look at it and see the importance it is to embed your video
to your website every single time you post as far as other notable traffic
sources that I'm definitely going to focus on that brought traffic to my
videos was Pinterest and Facebook so I kind of already knew this I knew
Pinterest was a huge traffic source anyway so I'm definitely going to be
focusing on promoting my videos more on Pinterest and Facebook because they are
bringing the most value to my channel like I said I've got some more
statistics and stuff over on that blog I want to just give you the key takeaways
now of what I learned did posting every single day help yes and no so yes I grew
my subscribers yes I grew my watch 10 minutes but it wasn't something
astronomical if you can post every single day go for it because that's just
creating more content for people to watch watch this which is more watch 10
minutes but I think the sweet spot is definitely what YouTube is recommending
is 2 to 3 times a week I think that's the best sweet spot if you want to start
a YouTube channel to really start seeing a growth it's by posting 2 to 3 videos
every in a week now I definitely suggest if
you can only do one week commit to doing one every single week and be consistent
the next takeaway that I learned is to check your analytics and analyze them
it's really gonna break down what you is working on your channel I know I didn't
do this enough when I first started my channel to really see you know what's my
audience for attention where are people coming from to really improve my channel
so I would definitely start looking more at your analytics it's all this free
data that YouTube gives you to really improve your strategy here on YouTube
and to grow your channel faster so after 31 videos and 31 days that's what it all
broke down to so if you're ready to start creating a YouTube channel for
your business but you're not sure how to get started
