I read your book cover-to-cover because I was really interested in your
perspective and still AM and one thing that bothered me is that I if I'm being
honest with you I felt that there was some tone deafness as to why when you
say you were unsure as to why the race was so close to begin with I was talking
to people throughout the country I have Trump supporters in my family my friends
who were saying we're frustrated with rising Obama care costs we're frustrated
with government overreach we're frustrated that we had a president that
couldn't utter radical Islamic extremism with the ease that we wanted him to some
of those people were voting for Trump based on real issues do you acknowledge
that that that was happening you know I do I do acknowledge that for some people
those were real issues I of course take issue them because I was Secretary of
State and there was a very good reason why the President and everybody around
him was careful about how you talk because you want to zero in and defeat
the terrorists you don't want to inflame a religion of a billion people so I
really understood what the CRO
and so there's a decent debate about this and I think that's what I wanted in
this campaign I don't think we got it I think we got a reality TV show campaign
it was really hard I mean when when you have a presidential campaign and the
total number of minutes on TV news which is still how most people get their
information covering all of our policies climate change anything else was thirty
two minutes I don't blame voters you know I mean
voters are going to hear what they hear because somebody is telling them and if
they only hear one side it's understandable that they're only going
to believe one side and if they don't get a broad base of information to make
judgments on so I think it's important that we not only look at what candidates
and campaigns have to do and frankly what the government has to do to deal
with this Russian threat I think the press has to say how are we going to
cover candidates going forward who may take a page out of you know Trump's book
and the more outrageous you are the more inflammatory you are the higher the
ratings and at some point you know it isn't a reality TV show it's reality
on that
so this is my last day at the view yeah and I want to thank these ladies but you
don't know about us is that these these ladies we're really friends Sunny's
texts I mean Sarah would be you're my inspiration joy you you when I need
comedic relief this is where I go so we're gonna be friends no matter what
but I want to thank you because I'm a little eccentric and you put up with me
and this has been just an amazing journey and I I appreciate all of you I
want to thank the viewers even the ones that write me hate tweets you know this
is this is what I'm here for I'm there to shake things up in life and
television and I have a book that I'm writing with HarperCollins right now
which is I don't have a title yet but it's an amazing concept that I think is
gonna really shake up the world especially the millennial generation I'm
super excited about that will be coming out next year so I'm working insanely on
that and I have a lot of opportunities to consider now and figure out piled up
to here and I will be spending a little bit of time doing that but you should
stay tuned because there's there's some good stuff on the way I just have to
have to map it out a little bit I'm married I'm getting married
but you know this is this has been a really great experience and mostly I
just want to speak to that to the viewers and just say you know we are
nothing without you we are able to do what we do because you invite us into
your homes this isn't about me this isn't about us it's about a conversation
it's about serious issues and it's about the fact that you care enough to hear
what we have to say and that I appreciate more than any executive or
any position I can ever hold I appreciate the fact that you give me the
time of day and a presence to to make my voice heard and I hope you I hope you'll
join me in all my future endeavors no matter where they are and
I'll share my tiara love you and what are the chances of having an another
attacker mode on this very special day texting you Italian inappropriate she's
so funny the other day pageant women talking about the food that they put in
front of them yeah I'm like Olive Garden always amazing weird amazing
the reactions yeah we come from a very similar family where I would say I'm a
crazy Italian that's part of my brand I'm proud of it so you'll be seeing a
lot of crazy Italian whatever I bring to the table I bring some crazy I bring
some pasta IV some crazy Italian it's coming with me don't worry I we rarely
agree on anything but I have been so and that's true but I don't have even agree
when we walk into an amusement park yes what we should be doing but I am honored
to call you friend
it's great to have you here because you know we need to have somebody to
disagree just again and that somebody they I used to disagree with Elizabeth
Hasselbeck all the time right but then after the show was over with you're like
who's where would you get those shoes you know there's never been person no
and that has been good for the show yeah and you break an issue down very
understandably because I clearly know what I feel just from my heart yeah it
often times when I'm trying to understand the other side it's very
difficult and you break it down and you kind of take you like push the heart
bring the head this is why people disagree on this and yeah it's made it
so much more I've learned so much from you you might have ticked the needle
your way you might have been recruiting me the whole time listen I try to get as
many libertarians as possible and thank you whoopee whoopee you are listen I was
a fan of yours long before I sat at this table and I'll be a fan forever but you
you gave me a voice even when you didn't agree with me you let me say my piece
and and that means more to me than anything so thank well yeah I'd like
that enough to share my frogs
