Waching daily Apr 7 2017

Hello guys! I am Amy and welcome to my YouTube channel

Here you will find everything about fashion, style tips, trends, ourfit ideas and all the fun stuff

I am a fashion enthusiast and hence a shopaholic naturally

For the longest time, I've always had the urge to share this passion with others

And now that I finished school, I finally have time for it

So besides my full time job, I decided to start my YouTube channel

And I really hope you guys will enjoy the content that I put out because I have so much fun creating it.

I have been working hard and I am so pleased that I finally get to share this first video with you.

So today's video is about a spring trend that you guys have probably seen everywhere in stores

It is gingham pattern

I have been loving this trend lately

And I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favorite gingham clothes and how I style them

I hope you guys enjoy the video

please subscribe to my channel, like, comment, and share with your fashion buddies

wait is that a thing....?

anyways, I would appreciate any feedback you have.

If there's any trends or styles you would like me to tackle for future videos

please let me know in the comment below, and now comes the look book.

The first gingham piece that I fell in love with are these trousers with ruffles at both the bottom and the waist

and I am such a ruffle addict.

I paired them with a white blouse, I just love how the ruffle and lace details on the arm,

along with the buttons in the back, add just the right amount of twist to the top

while still letting the pants have the attention they deserve.

I also picked out a neck scarf for accessory, and I do love that pop of red.

If you want to add another layer, a duster jacket is a perfect choice.

With the jacket, I untied my scarf because, I don't know, I just thought it looks better that way.

To complete the look, I picked out this awesome purse which matches perfectly with the gold and red details on my scarf

because for me it's all about the small details.

Alright second outfit.

I picked out this skirt because I seriously have such an obsession with ruffles as you will see in this video.

I wanted to make this look somewhat casual so I styled it with a white tee,

with some lips and lashes graphics on it

super girly I know.

So I thought this moto jacket would spice things up a little bit while still matching the girly theme,

I mean its pink

And lastly I picked these velvet champagne color booties, I just love these soo much,

also a white bag with some pink pom pom to pull the whole look together.

Ok so third outfit.

Look at this shirt! I definitely love me some statement sleeves.

I paired it with a metallic skirt just to brighten up the outfit a tad

for the sake of spring vibes.

To complete the look, I decided to go with some pretty basic items,

black booties and a black purse.

I also added some silver shades to match with my skirt and I really like how this outfit turned out.

However, the top itself is such a statement so you can just throw on a pair of denim

and you will still look amazing I promise.

Okay we're down to the last one.

This dress is super cute, multiple layers of ruffles, are you kidding me?

The dress itself is very girly but once again, I wanted to add some edge to it and I believe it worked.

So I put on a felt hat for a chic vibe and also toughen it up a little bit with some fishnets socks paired with my black sandal heels.

Then I picked a red handbag to add a pop of color.

I really like the details on the bag,

I think the pineapple and white flower really give out that spring/summer vibe, if you can see them I guess.

Alright guys, that's a wrap for this lookbook.

I hope you guys find an outfit that you like and have some inspiration on how to style this gingham trend.

Please don't forget to subscribe to my channel

give it a thumbs up and let me know what you think below.

I will see you next time. Bye

Brief MLA Overview - Duration: 4:15.

In this tutorial, we will take a brief look at MLA, the 8th

edition. Citations are an important part of any research

paper or assignment in which outside sources are

consulted. Use citations when you use facts, opinions,

theories, quotations, graphs, drawings, or other work

created by another person.

If your readers want to read something you used, citations

will lead them to the works you consulted. There are

several ways to cite sources you have used to complete an

assignment. And example is the Modern Language

Association style, also known as MLA, which will be shown here.

When you use the MLA style to write a research paper,

you'll create a citation for each resource you used.

Compile your citations on a page at the end of your paper

and title that page, "Works cited".

In April 2016, MLA8 was introduced. MLA8 prioritizes a

set of principles designed to guide writers in the citation

process, as opposed to previous editions which

established concrete citation formulas. This approach uses

what's called a container method. And writers are

encouraged to evaluate what their audience will need to

know in order to reasonably locate the material cited.

To understand MLA8, you need to understand the

difference between a source and a container. A source is

what you are citing. For example, a source could be a

book, an article, a speech, or a podcast. The container is

where your source is housed. For example, if your source

is an article that you found in Newsweek, the container is Newsweek.

Sometimes, a source can have multiple containers. If you

used the library's database to find sources, it's likely that

you will have more than one container. For example, an

article found in an electronic journal has two containers.

The source is the article. The first container is the journal

in which the article appeared. The second container is the

database that contains the journal.

When preparing to write your citation entries, MLA8 tells

us to consider an items core elements. The core elements

should appear in order, followed by the designated

punctuation. For MLA8, the core elements are as follows:

author, title of source, title of container, other

contributors, version, number, publisher, publication date, and location.

Not every source will have every element. Al Purdue

Writing Lab is an excellent resource when starting to

generate MLA citations. To use this resource, locate the

type of source you want to cite and match it up to the

heading on the right hand side of the screen. For example,

if your source is a book written by two authors, click on

the book's link and then scroll down to the entry showing

how to cite a book with two authors. Use the example

shown as a template and create your citation.

Let's cite a book from Encore, our catalog, as practice. A

search for 'glass ceiling' yields this result. We will now

fill in the relevant core elements. The author is Bruce

Evan Blaine. The title is Understanding the Psychology of

Diversity. Because this is a print book, there is no

separate container. The publisher is Sage Publications.

And, the publication date is 2013.

And so, using the Al Purdue model for a one author book,

our citation looks like this:

Blaine, Bruce Evan. Understanding the Psychology of

Diversity. {which is italicized} Sage Publications, 2013.

This concludes our brief look at MLA8. Thanks for watching.

Doing a Simple Search in ProQuest - Duration: 4:10.

In this tutorial, we will learn how to find an article in

Proquest on the topic of whether cell phones should be

allowed in the classroom.

Step 1. Go to the library's homepage located at

www.lccc.edu/library and then select the 'Articles and

More Databases' link located on the left-hand side of the

screen. Scroll through the library's databases until you

locate Proquest. Once you find it, click on the link. At this

point, you may have to enter your banner ID number, also

sometimes referred to as your student or L number. At the

search screen, enter your search terms and connector in

the search box. In this case,

we will enter in "cellphones and classroom".

Always be sure to check your spelling. Notice, too, that

you can open an online help screen, conduct an advanced

search, and limit your results to just full text articles

and/or scholarly, peer-reviewed journals. Let's click on

the search feature in order to see what our results look

like. The entries in your short results list consist of

citations for all the other articles or other documents in

Proquest that match your search terms. Unless you tell it

otherwise, your search terms will usually appear

somewhere in the title, abstract, or subject field of each

document. Usually, the documents will be in

chronological order, latest to oldest. Notice, too, that on

the basic search screen of this database, you may select

certain limiters. Let's limit our results by clicking on the

magazines label on the left-hand side of the results list.

This repopulates our search results in order to only show

magazine articles. Let's pick the article titled, "Debate:

Should schools allow cell phones?" This article appears in

a publication called Scholastic News and was published

on January 19, 2015. The article appears on page 7.

Notice that you can see that a citation/abstract and the full

text of this article are available. You can also click on the

documents title for more information about it. If you see

an abstract for an article but not the full text, you still may

be able to access it, whether through inter-library loan, or

through another full text database. Please contact a

librarian if you have any questions about this process.

Let's click on the article's title in order to read its

abstract. The abstract takes the article and boils it down to

just a few sentences so that you know right away whether

or not the article will be useful in your research. The full

text of this article follows in HTML full text view. HTML

has a very simple appearance. But this article is also

available in PDF full text view. This means that it appears

as it does in the paper issue of the print magazine. Let's

click on the PDF full text link in order to take a look.

Remember, if an article is available as both a PDF and as

HTML, always select the PDF version so as to get any

images or graphs that originally accompanied the article.

If the article is appropriate to your research, now you can

decide whether to email it, download it, or print it.

This concludes our brief look at how to do a simple

search in Proquest. If you have any questions, please

contact the library for further assistance. Thanks for watching.

Creating Search Terms - Duration: 4:32.

Research terms, also sometimes referred to as keywords,

are words you use to search for information in a database

or search engine. In this tutorial, we will look at how to

create search terms from your research topic.

Step 1. Take a clean piece of paper and write down your

topic in the form of a question.

For example, "Is college worth the money?"

Step 2. Identify the major concepts of your topic. Begin

by crossing out all secondary words. This leaves us with

our major concepts, college and money.

Step 3. Develop a list of synonyms or other keywords

related to the major concepts. For example, when talking

about college, we could also try searching: community

college, university, or trade school. Being specific about

what it is that we actually want to research will make the

process a great deal easier. Similarly, when looking at the

word "cost", we could also use synonyms such as price,

expense, or amount. If you're having difficulty thinking

of synonyms, thesaurus.com is an excellent resource.

Wikipedia, too, is useful for finding other terms people

use when speaking about your topic.

Step 4. Construct your search using boolean operators,

often called connectors. They're simple words- and, or,

not- that will help you to refine your search. We will

concentrate on and, as well as or. Using and will find both

terms. For example, "Community college and cost" will

find articles with both community college and cost

mentioned. Using or will find either term. For example,

"Community college or cost" will find articles with both

search term is mentioned, but not necessarily together.

This creates a much broader search with more results.

Using or with the parentheses is a way to combine similar

terms to get more results. For example, in our first set of

parentheses, we will put "community college or college or

trade school". Then, we'll use the connector "and". Then,

in our final set of parentheses, we will use "cost or price or expense".

Step 5. Review your search to see if you should use

truncation. Truncation, using a strategically placed

asterisk, will get you all forms of a word. Some databases

use a different truncation indicator. Consult the help

screen or speak with a librarian if you are unsure which

truncation indicator to use. For example, putting the

letters, "expens*" will retrieve: expense, expenses,

expensive. Putting the letters, "pric*" will retrieve: price,

prices, pricing; but will also retrieve words such as

prickly. So, use truncation wisely.

So ultimately, our refined search will look like this. In our

first set of parentheses, we will have "community college

or college or trade school". Then, we will have our

connector, and. Then, in our final set of parentheses, we

will have "cost or price or expens*". A few mistakes

you'll want to avoid include using commas or periods. So,

for example, "kids, video games". Using redundant search

terms. For example, "kids and children". Making common

phrases individual terms. For example, when speaking

about illegal immigration, using "illegal and

immigration". Using terms missing a connector:

"children, divorce". Placing quotation marks around

everything. Placing quotation marks around your

connector: "Children "and" divorce".

This concludes our brief tutorial on how to select search

terms. Thanks for watching.

CEF 30 Year Anniversary Event Video - March 2017 - Duration: 4:25.

and they started working on the idea of

having a foundation in the mid 80's

I don't think that the legislature is

going to find the golden panacea to

solve all of our problems that we're

going to have to solve some of the

problems ourselves collectively.

The Chandler Education Foundation gym under

your leadership is going to do great

things for education of our kids and we

need to get behind you and get funding

in that particular program well vision

college-bound or we hope to keep our

students dreams alive. With a 92.5% GPA

College-bound "Get enrolled today". it's

such a blast you get to meet new friends

you've got to learn what college is

about you get new experiences and their

you feel like there's no limits in life

My motivation for trying to establish

the Chandler Education Foundation I felt

that we needed a mechanism in chandler

to which we could offer scholarships to

our own students and pretty much be

funded by our locals and they not having

to take their own money to try to worry

about a scholarship it was a very

fledgling operation I think in the

beginning we had a thirty thousand

dollar budget and that was begged and

borrowed from any source that we could

possibly find you have constituencies

that exists of all the children in the

district and when you look at thousands

of children and you look at their needs

and you look at their sweet spirits to

look at their enthusiasm then you start

to realize we have something in this

community that we can rally around

Compadres started right out you know

donating and that was all part of our

situation and a number of us who were

involved were involved with compadres

and then reaching out to other companies

and so on and bashes has always been

tremendous supporter of Education and

Chandler well the first actual program

that we named was called the 100% hundred

Awareness program and the idea

was that each person that works for the

school district and each family who

would give one dollar so it kind of had

a two-fold purpose it was to raise the

money obviously but it was also to get

parents and the community aware of what

wonderful things were happening in this

district I think the fact that we served

children became the catalyst for

bringing the community together through

the foundation Chandler Education

Foundation is a godsend the school

districts because they allow us to do so

many great things for our families when

I talk to potential donors one of the

things that I'm really excited to tell

them is that the overhead of our

foundation is so low that the dollars

they donate will really impact our

students being a 501c3 we can

write for certain grants and acquire

those dollars the impact they've had

whether it's to the individual teacher

of school individual students whether

it's scholarship through the crisis

phone has been tremendous I am inspired

daily to fulfill the mission of the

Chandler Education Foundation and to

serve the best school district in the

state.
