Designer Long Choli Cutting And Stitching | Designer Choli Making With Net - Tailoring With Usha - Duration: 19:23.

hello friends, I'm Usha and m very thankful for your love and support

I also started a website/blog and its name is ushaseminary . com

you can ask anything regarding tailoring if any problem or query

i'll try to answer your query as soon as possible

today m going to teach you long designer choli with net. so let's start

designer long choli cutting and stitching

the measurement is like this

total length of designer choli 41 inch

length of upper bodice 13 inch

shoulder to shoulder width 11 inch

shoulder length 6.75 inch

chest 36 inch

waist 29 inch

front neck length 7 inch

back neck length 1 inch

neck width 5.5 inch

sleeves' length 3 inch

half arm round 5.5 inch

lower length of designer choli 28 inch

i.e 41 minus 13 (upper bodice length) is 28 inch

lower bottom width of choli 39 inch

length of 1st dart from top 9 inch

width of 1st dart 2.25 inch

length of 2nd dart i.e fitting dart 10.5 inch

width of 2nd dart 3.5 inch

we insert 3rd and 4th dart according to 1st and 2nd dart

this is upper bodice fabric, from which i'l make bodice and with this i'll attach lining too

and this net i'll insert or sew at the lower part of bodice

after folding bodice fabric in 2 layers, first, at top take half shoulder to shoulder width + 0.5 inch width wise

i.e 11/2=5.5 inch + 0.5 inch = 6 inch

from this point take shoulder length i.e 6.75 inch

cross mark it with the same measurement as we took at top i.e 6 inch

now join the two points

and for front arm cutting, take 0.5 inch to inner side and join it too in slant manner to upper mark

after that, put inch-tape at shoulder length and take 1/4 of chest +2 inch width wise

i.e 36/4=9 + 2=11 inch, darken the line and mark at 9 & 11 inch

now from top take waist length + 1.5 inch lengthwise

i.e 13 + 1.5 =14.5 inch

this is our choli length also, draw a straight line width wise

and on this line take 1/4 of waist + 2 inch i.e 29/4=7.25 + 2 =9.25 inch

join waist marks to chest marks in slant manner

after that do curving of both arm holes

after that, at top mark half of neck width i.e 5.5/2=2.75 inch

and on shoulder length mark 0.5 inch and make a slant line

we do not make neck now, first we do cutting and after that we do drafting and cutting of front neck

now place this front piece fabric on remaining fabric and do cutting for back piece

now we do front neck cutting, for this take 0.5 inch more neck length than neck width

neck width is 2.75 inch, so neck length will be 3.25 inch, make a box and do curving

after that, our front neck total length is 7 inch, mark it and make a slant line till neck curving to make V shape

and cut it

after that, cut front deep curving f armhole

now come to back piece neck, take same width i.e 2.75 inch and back neck depth is 1 inch

make a box and do back neck curving, then cut it

this is our complete cutting of front and back piece

now i'll do drafting and cutting of sleeves and after that do cutting of lining after adjusting it which i already taught you

after completing this i'll proceed further

after adjusting main fabric on lining fabric, now we do cutting alongside it and join it by cut stitching

after that i'll proceed further

after do stitching and joining of main fabric with lining fabric, now we insert pleats which is inserted like simple blouse

which i already taught you, LINK IS IN DESCRIPTION

i'll proceed further after inserting pleats

after inserting darts/pleats, now take near about 2.5 inch wide strip, sew it on wrong side & fold it to right side

this is our left side of front piece, first measure 7 inch from top and place strip beneath it adjusting 0.75 inch outwards

and sew it but at bottom we fold it half inch above and then sew it

after inserting loops strips, now join shoulders of front and back piece matching right to right

after joining shoulders, now measure the neck portion in round, it comes near about 15.25 inch

and now we cut ban neck of this

first cut hard fusion paper/bookrum equal to 15.25 inch and fold it from center

this is close part and this is open part, at open part mark 1 inch lengthwise from top

and from close part, mark neck width widthwise i.e half neck width is 2.75 inch

now join two mark in a curve manner like this

now from this curve, we make another curve minding a gap of 1 inch like this

and cut the pattern formed

this is our ban neck pointed towards up

now paste it on remaining fabric and after that i'll proceed further

after pasting pattern on wrong side of fabric, now cut alongside it minding a gap of 0.5 inch

now place this piece on other remaining fabric matching right to right

and from bottom side it will open and we sew it from three sides

and just like ban neck we attach it with kurti which I already taught you (LINK IN DESCRIPTION)

after completing this i'll proceed further

this is our completed ban neck, now we make bottom part of designer choli from this net

for this we take net and fold it from open part, i'll adjust it then proceed further

after folding and adjusting, first of all take measurement of waist, it comes near about 8.5 inch

now keep this aside, and from open side take long choli length + 1 inch i.e 28+1=29 inch

now on this point, we take the waist measurement width wise i.e 8.5 inch

and cross mark it with 29 inch from bottom and draw a straight line

then come at bottom, here take half of half bottom width + 1 inch i.e 39/2=19.5 + 1 =20.5 inch

keep it straight up to 5 to 6 inch lengthwise, and now join this point to that point in slant manner

do a bit curving at the end and now do cutting of it

now adjust it fir back piece and cut it alongside, this is joint part so we make back piece from here

now match net piece and bodice piece center to center and right to right and sew it simply

and also join back net piece with back bodice piece also

after stitching, take choli fabric upwards and do press stitching too and after doing this

now we join sleeves and do fitting stitching, all this I already taught you in my previous videos

after completing all this i'll upload an image of it

In the early days of New York City

when it was still New Amsterdam,

the early 1600s,

all the streets were unpaved and just had a dirt surface.

The residents in this area complained

about the condition of this street in particular.

And so it was in the 1650s,

it became the first paved street of the whole city.

And this new cobblestone surface

led to the name of the street, Stone Street.

Well, it used to run all the way from Hanover Square here

right away to Broadway.

But then they constructed this huge

great office tower here right in the middle of the street,

right on top of it

and that split it into two halves.

This half here,

they pedestrianized and kept with the tradition

of having the cobblestone surface.

It became a real bustling seaport here in the 1830s.

If you looked out to the harbor on Sundays,

you could find over a thousand boats there,

all waiting to come into South Street seaport to unload their goods.

Back in those days,

over 50% of the imported goods of the United States

passed through New York City.

But if you look to the harbor today,

you can see maybe four or five boats here and that's all.

That's because in the 1920s,

the New York and New Jersey Port Authorities merged

and they created a huge new container port

far away from Manhattan Island.

So by the mid-1900s,

pretty much all the commercial shipping had died away here,

and all the passenger shipping as well.

It was then that it had all been overtaken by air travel.

This large bronze sphere behind me

was created by the German sculptor, Fritz Koenig.

He created it to symbolize world peace

through trade and commerce.

For many years, it stood in the plaza

of the World Trade Center building,

Unttil of course, the 9/11 attacks of 2001,

and then it was buried beneath tons and tons of debris

of the collapsed Twin Towers

though remarkably, it survived.

It got rather dented and battered

but they managed to extract it from debris,

reassemble it, and they installed it here

a half a year after the attacks.

for Seventeen magazine.

Remember that one?

It was a teenage girl's mag.

because he created this huge installation here in 1971.

Well, what are these numbered tiles good for?

If you looked to the top row,

you'll see it's numbered 1 to 12 and

the remaining rows 0 to 59.

Well, that's probably already given the game away.

It's a huge clock up there with the first row

telling the hour, and the remaining rows

telling both the seconds and the minutes.

So today, Peck Slip is this sort of tarmac road here

that runs all the way from Pearl Street,

where those dark brown houses are,

down to the East River just in front of me here.

Well, it looks a little bit strange,

this tarmac surface,

compared to the cobblestone street surrounding it.

That's because it didn't actually used to be a street at all.

It used to be a slip,

which was like a little canal,

that led in from the East River right up to Pearl Street.

So it all used to be water,

this tarmac surface,

and the ships would sail in here and moor all the way up to Pearl Street

and unload their goods to the surrounding warehouses.

If you take a look to a map of Lower Manhattan,

you'll find a lot of little streets like this one leading out to the East River,

and most of those would probably have been slips.

But by the end of the 19th century,

they were all filled in and leveled

but some of them still keep their names.

There's Old Slip, Coenties Slip.

and of course, here we got Peck Slip.
