3 resolutions for 2017! - Duration: 13:38.
Welcome to the first vlog from 2017!
today is the 6th of january..
why nothing happend on this channel so long..
you will hear
in this vlog..
have fun!
i started a vlog on the 31st of december... but..
in the morning i had a client..
it was an emergency appointment..
good morning guys..
it is roght before new years..
it is 9:30 am
and i have an emergency appointment
the client was okay to pay more..
and for weekend rates and new years rates ;)
and i couldnt say no to that :)
i am on the way there it is not far..
it will take 1-2 hours..
the client bought a macbook pro..
and wants to transfer his data to the new mac - and that has to happen before new year ;)
after that i drove to the office..
to clean up
and finish 2016
it is the 31st of december 2016
i cleaned up the whole office.. mostly...
everything is finished..
i will buy some stuff...
drive home..
and then relax..
and start the new years party..
just bought some water...
the streets are really clean..
so peaceful on the streets..
i looks so quiet and calm
full of harmony..
but inside..
in the mall
there is war going on..
it is unbelieveable.. what is going on there..
the people are buying and buying..
you cant eat so much on new years..
i have the feeling..
unbelievable..
so guys freaked out to some classic music..
lets go up
guys shit is real..
"cleaning up club 2016"
what looks like a nice effect is not
it is because it is so cold outside and i just got in..
lets move on
bought some stuff for new years..
and at home i cleaned up my desk and all invoices and stuff that i digitalized i put into folders..
after i showed all my clients..
including you ;)
it is time..
to finish up my 2016..
these are...
documents that i digitalized..
i will put them into folders..
put the yearstamp on it..
and this goes into the basement
after i was finished around 4 pm
and ready to party...
i realized that..
my energy was on an all time low..
and i realized that i was getting sick
so..
i havent had a great new years..
ii was early in bed
i realized my voice got bad
you maybe heard it in the last vlog...
and after that i was ...
till today..
the 6th of january 2017
in bed trying to get fit again...
first i though no problem,,,
i will miss monday for work..
that was the 2nd of 3rd of january..
i realized i wasnt fit
i hardly could hear my voice..
so i canceled all appointments for tuesday..
on tuesday i realized i am still not fit..
canceled wednesday..
it made no sense at all
i canceled the whole week
and used the whole week to plan my year..
to check all my mails and plan what i want to do..
everything what i have to do for taxes..
i went through all my customers..
checked if i finished everything..
pretty soon i realized it was kinda perfect that i took the week off..
what i mean by that is..
you can decide and say ok everything is f*** up i am sick...
i am off a whole week cant work cant make money..
what will happen omg
or you will find in that what is happening - getting sick..
a sense or make up a sense
i dont know if you know the movie..
signs..
this movie is about..
aliens trying to take over the world...
and mel gibson is the father of joacquin phoenix
and the aliens attack them and..
it sounds a little sci fi but it is not like that..
if you will watch the movie..
there is one scene that i really like
and that comes to my mind some times..
and that is where mel gibson..
and j phoenix sitting in their home..
and outside are these aliens..
and want to get in..
and j phoenix is asking mel gibson to tell him something good to cheer him up..
tell me something that will help me in this situation..
so mel gibson tells him..
also musst du dich fragen was für ein mensch bist du?
bist du jemand der zeichen sieht?
der Wunder sieht..
oder glaubst du das Menschen einfach nur Glück haben..
oder betrachte es von dieser Seite:
ist es möglich..
dass es keine zufälle gibt?
what i want to say is.. that for me..
is that this sickness that happend to me
is bad because i had to cancel work..
would have made money with..
but on the same page..
i see the sense in this..
one week
be here..
relax..
get energy..
and plan other stuff...
take the time for it..
to get really healthy again...
i wasnt planning to get to philosophical in the vlog ;)
of course i though about..
what my new years resolution is for 2017
i think you have some resolutions..
if so write me in the comments..

How to Learn a New Skill Quickly: A 4-Step Process - Duration: 11:41.
Hey what's going on guys?
So today we are tackling
how you can learn new skills incredibly quickly.
Over the course of this video,
I'm gonna share a four step process
that you can use to take any skill,
whether it's related to school or your future career,
or whether it's just a fun one like guitar or cooking,
and break that skill down
so that you can learn as much as you need to
about the most important parts
and then start practicing them effectively
so you can gain basic proficiency really really fast.
Now this process we're gonna talk about
applies to any skill,
because at its core,
skill development, whether it's really physical
like basketball
or whether it's really mental like mathematics,
it's all learning.
As you intake information about the skill,
and as you practice it,
you're forging new neural pathways in your brain,
you're connecting them with other neural pathways,
and you're strengthening them over time.
As you do this,
you move though what's called the three stage model
or skill acquisition,
which starts with the cognitive stage
where you're just learning about the skill,
and you're just forming those neural pathways.
Then moves into the associative stage
where you're doing a lot more practice,
and now you're able to sort of self reflect
and pick out mistakes and change things
based on those mistakes.
And eventually you move into the autonomous stage.
At that point you have mastered the skill,
and it's basically able to be done automatically.
And this autonomous phase takes
a really long time to get to.
Mastery takes a lot of hours of practice.
But that doesn't mean you're doomed to spend
dozens of hours in the beginning phases,
because if you know how to structure the learning
and the practice processes the right way,
you can make a surprising amount of progress
in a very very short period of time.
In fact, in his book The First 20 Hours,
author Josh Kaufman argues that you can learn
basic proficiency in almost any skill that exists
in under 20 hours of dedicated practice.
And his process for doing this breaks down
to a series of four distinct steps.
And in a second we're gonna go over those steps,
but first I wanna issue you a bit of a challenge.
If you're sitting there watching this video,
and you have a skill you've been wanting to learn,
use this framework to create a plan for doing that.
Once the video's over,
take out a piece of paper and create a plan
going through each of the steps,
and then start putting it into action.
So the first step in Kaufman's process
is to deconstruct the skill.
Basically you break it down into its component parts,
and then you prioritize those parts
based on your particular goals within that skill area.
Now to give you an example
let's talk about playing the guitar.
A lot of people want to play the guitar,
but there are lots of different ways to play the guitar.
There's tons of different musical genres,
you might want to just play a few different songs,
or maybe you want to be like Slash
or like DragonForce guitarists
and be rippin' solos all day long, right?
These are very different skills.
So, by breaking it down into individual sub-skills,
chords, scales, picking technique,
reading tabs, understanding musical intervals,
you end up with a list of building blocks
that you can then prioritize and take action on.
The second step in Kaufman's process
is the education step.
Basically at this point you want to take each sub-skill
that you've prioritized and learn enough about it
that you can practice well
and identify your mistakes and self-correct.
Now notice I said enough about each sub-skill,
not as much as you can about each sub-skill.
Because I know personally I'm the kind of guy
who will walk into Barnes & Noble
and look at every single book on the shelf
related to what I'm interested in,
and think, I should buy every single one here
and read them all before getting started.
And that's just not how good skill development works,
especially if you want to do it quickly.
You need to learn just enough about each sub-skill
so that you can start practicing,
getting your hands dirty, and making mistakes,
because then you're gonna know what you should correct.
Alright, step number three in the process
is to eliminate any potential barriers to success
or barriers to your progress and your practice.
And in my mind,
the most likely thing that's gonna get in the way
of your practice is a lack of motivation in the long-term.
So, find a way to motivate yourself on a constant basis.
Maybe it's having an accountability partner,
maybe it's joining a forum where you can talk
about your interest,
or maybe it's just making a record
of every single day you practice
so you can see a chain developing
that you don't want to break.
Alright, so skill has been deconstructed,
learning has been done,
and barriers have been sliced in half with a samurai sword.
We are now on the fourth and final step of the process
which is simply to practice deliberately.
In The First 20 Hours,
Josh Kaufman's rule is that you should practice deliberately
until you've achieved your goals for each sub-skill
that you prioritized,
or until you've hit 20 hours of dedicated practice.
And what he recommends
is that you actually practice by using a timer or a clock,
and track the amount of hours you put in.
Because when you're practicing something difficult,
it can be really really easy to overestimate
how much time you spend practicing.
Now that we've gotten through the four step process,
I want to give you a few additional tips
you can use to make your skill development journey
even more successful.
And the first one is to identify the work
of somebody who is a master
or somebody who is where you want to be.
Analyze that work as best as you can,
and then try to imitate it.
Now a lot of people are gonna say,
this is copying, this is ripping people off,
but actually as long as you're not passing off
this work as your own,
this is how a lot of people learn their skills.
And in fact in Japanese martial arts,
there's a concept called shuhari
that is exactly this.
And in music, it's the same.
The famous jazz trumpet player Clark Terry
believed that imitation was in fact
an essential part of becoming a great musician.
And he told his students that music learning happens
in a three stage process,
which he called imitate, assimilate, and innovate.
Here's what he said about the role of imitation.
"By imitating the players you love,
"you'll begin to understand the music
"on a deeper level and begin to see a personal sound
"develop in your own approach to improvisation.
"Questions that can't be answered
"by music theory or etude books,
"like how to play longer lines or how to articulate
"and swing, will reveal themselves as you start
"to imitate the masters."
Part of the reason this tactic works so well
is it gives you a method to go way way beyond
your comfort zone and your current level of skill.
Because if you can take something that a master made,
and you can analyze it from every angle,
you can probably recreate certain aspects of it
even if you don't know exactly what you're doing
or why you're doing it.
Then later on as you're kinda backfilling your knowledge
by learning the theory and all the fundamentals,
you're gonna be able to say,
oh that's why I did that, or that's how I did that.
I didn't understand it at first, but now I get it.
And I kind of have like a rung to pull myself up
because I did that work in the first place.
The Stanford mathematics professor Ravi Vakil
called it backfilling.
And here's how he described it in terms of mathematics.
"mathematics is so rich and infinite
"that it is impossible to learn it systematically,
"and if you wait to master one topic
"before moving on to the next,
"you'll never get anywhere.
"Instead, you'll have tendrils of knowledge
"extending far from your comfort zone.
"Then you can later backfill from these tendrils,
"and extend your comfort zone."
Of course, another way to learn from the masters
is to simply be taught by them.
Which is why another way you can really accelerate
your skill development process
is by finding a teacher or a coach or a course
that you can take.
Now I know from personal experience,
having a coach or somebody who can tell you your mistakes
is probably the most valuable thing in the world.
But you don't have to let geography be a limiting factor
in your access to teachers
because there are 100s of 1000s of tutorials
and online courses that you can use for basically
any skill that you're trying to learn.
And one place where you can find those courses
that I wanna let you know about
is Skillshare, who's actually the sponsor of this video.
Now Skillshare is an online learning community
that has over 12,000 courses in a ton of different subjects.
And I've actually been taking a few of those
in After Effects animation,
but they also have courses in photography,
graphic design, logo design,
and things like cooking, guitar, presentation skills.
In fact, they have a presentation skills class
from Simon Sinek who gave probably my favorite
TED talk of all time.
But one of the reasons I really like Skillshare
is that it gives you the ability to get feedback
from both your teacher and from other people
who are taking the same course.
There's two ways it does this.
Number one, below the videos in any course you're taking
there's a comments section.
And if you ask a question, you can get an answer
from the course instructor.
But also, most of the courses on Skillshare
have a participation component.
Basically there is a project section of the course
where you can upload your own work for feedback.
Now a membership to Skillshare
is normally around $8 a month,
which is right around the same price as Netflix,
and potentially a lot more useful.
But, if you wanna get three months
of completely unlimited use on Skillshare,
you can get it for 99 cents by using the link
in the description below,
and I'll have a few more details about that
at the end of the video.
Before we end this video though,
I've got three additional tips for you.
And all three of them
relate to making your practice sessions
more effective and more useful.
The first one is find a way to record
some of the practice you do.
Now you don't have to record all of it,
but recording some of it is gonna allow you
to analyze your performance,
see the mistakes you're making,
and make improvements.
And this is something my skating coach
actually told me to do.
She said bring your iPhone to the rink,
set it up on a tripod,
and film yourself practicing the moves
you have to practice for the competition.
Because if you can't see what you're doing,
you don't really know how to make improvements.
My friend Martin also does this with Spanish practice.
One thing he does is have an impromptu speech
in Spanish with his webcam,
so that way he can go back and analyze his accent,
his rate of speech, if he made any grammatical errors,
et cetera.
Secondly, if you want to accelerate your development process
and actually get good,
you need to make time for hyperfocused
and honestly lengthy practice sessions.
Now I was gonna say when I was writing this script
that you could just do 20 minutes a day
or 10 minutes a day of practice,
as long as it was consistent.
But when I got to thinking,
I couldn't think of a single skill that I have
that I'm proud of, that I think I'm truly good at
where I just put in 10 minutes a day
or 20 minutes a day of practice.
I mean, After Effects, public speaking, skateboarding,
figure skating, all the things I think I'm pretty good at,
I spend hours and hours of practice on.
And each individual session was honestly quite lengthy.
And lastly, as you practice you want to vary up the stakes.
When you're learning a new sub-skill,
you want to start with low stakes
where you're in a very low stress situation,
there's not much of a threat of consequence.
And then move to higher stakes situations
where there is some pressure.
And video game design is a perfect example of this,
because if you analyze almost any video game,
as it teaches the player a new skill,
it usually gives them a space
where there's some isolated practice.
Where you can basically practice the skill
with not much else going on, very little threats,
the opponents aren't hitting back.
And then, once you've gotten it down there,
you move it into an actual situation
where the opponents do hit back
or when things are happening faster
and when there's very low margin for error
or there's some consequences.
If you look at real word skills,
this principle applies just as well.
I mean look at learning a new language.
When you know absolutely nothing,
you need some low stress periods to drill flashcards,
or learn vocabulary,
but then to really up your skills
and solidify what you've learned,
you might do something like scheduling a conversation
with somebody on Skype or even going to a foreign country
and talking with people face-to-face.
Now I know we went over a ton of different tips
in this video,
and because of that there might be a temptation
for you to wait for a perfect moment
to start building your skill
when you can plan everything out,
when you can integrate every single tip,
but if you take nothing else away from this video,
just take this away.
The best time to start learning a skill is now,
even if you have an imperfect implementation plan,
even if you start really slowly.
If you can start making some mistakes,
start learning some initial
foundational pieces of that skill,
that's gonna help you build into the future.
So whatever it is, whatever you want to learn,
something career focused, something totally fun,
make a plan for implementing it,
use that four step process,
and then just get started.
Once again, I want to give a big thank you to Skillshare
for sponsoring this video.
This is actually my first sponsored video,
so let me know what you thought about it
in the comments down below.
But I'm a big fan of Skillshare personally,
so it was a no-brainer for me.
And if you want to try it,
once again you can try that link in the description below
for three months of unlimited use for just 99 cents.

#2 DROPPING MET LENTE! - #LASTIG. - Duration: 20:50.
Yo, I'm Mitchell & Jefffrey
And today we will drop Lente from HetIsLente somewhere in The Netherlands
With me!
Mitchell, soon you will drop me and Jeffrey somewhere
We are not allowed to use our mobile devices, public transport
and need to make sure we are back in De Wallen (Amsterdam) within 2 hours
Yes
and you will sabotage us?
I will sabotage
You're logged in on my Facebook
So on my Facebook you will get people to sabotage us
and he hang up..
Congratulations with your birthday!
Thankyou
You scared me to death
No not another one!
Our plan was to do this in your car but yeah..
No enough, enough, enough
Aww my ear, enough now
and we got hats
Oh boys
Do we need to put these on as well?
Yes, we have to put them on
Oh it's broken
Oh I got some left
Oh boys, what funny! How did you guys know it's my birthday?
and we have champaign
Oh I thought you were gonna shoot something again
What a trash
You can have mine
Can you make the hat?
They were extremely cheap
I need to clean this all up later..
The plan was to do this in your car
Beforehand we put everything under your car, behind the wheels
No way!
That's why I left your house earlier
Had to put them back in here again
We thought first we would go with your car
But guys i'm very happy with.. Dory campaign
Are we almost there?
Almost
I'm getting ill without looking
I'm no longer in the party mood
Me neither
It takes pretty long, you know?
I don't have any idea where we are now
Do you have any idea Jeffrey?
No
Mitchell, where are we?
Somewhere
You know what sucks? everyone is on vacation now
or with family or something
Yes, we are doing this exactly on the second Christmas day
Yes indeed
Oh right, we made up something
The team that loses has to clean this car
I will walk for hours in this cold
and you think I will clean this car half naked?
Yes
I think I will be a ice cube when I reach De Wallen
I think I will have to ask a prostitute to help warm me up
Are we there yet? I'm bored!
Almost there
I find it pretty exiting and you Jeffrey?
and do you see something?
Secretly I wanna see if your eyes are really closed
I see black and I find it very exiting
In his eye
Can't be he got them closed
Do you have your eyes closed still?
Yes
Just stop!
Oh did I threw it at you?
Yes, you threw it at me
I will hit you
Stop now!
I can't see it coming
Are we there yet?
Stop it!
Where is the party popper again?
Here, now I can hit you
What is this?
A shoe
Go away
I don't like this game anymore
Another object?
Yes, my underwear isn't that easy to take off
Gross
Mommy I wanna go home
Are we there?
Yes!
We are here
But do you have any idea where we could be?
Looking at the landscape
The highway I know, but not where exactly
I think we drove here earlier to come to you
No
This is the Klaasgrootpath.. road
But I want you guys to leave now
I wish you both goodluck
and I see you in Amsterdam
Yes see you in Amsterdam
Hello, great that you're watching and this sucks!
Later!
It was fun
It's cold here
Police
Lente & Jeffrey are now in Beverwijk
In a place I don't know myself either
and the police just drove by
So they can now ask them where they are
and if they can get a ride
That's unfortunate
That's quick
They just passed us!
They drove away
Where are we?
Yeah a centrum of something
We are in Beverwijk and Ijmuiden is that way
So we are somewhere
Wijk aan zee
Heemskerk
Uitgeest
Assendelft
Zaandam
Come, come, come
Lady do you maybe know where we are?
Because we got dropped
Do you know where we are?
In what place?
Beverwijk
Beverwijk!
Never been there, you?
No
Where are you going to?
Home
Oh too bad
Can I ask something?
We are looking for a ride
Can you take us somewhere?
To where?
Towards Amsterdam
Do we have a ride?
To Hoofddorp maybe if he agrees
Hoofddorp is at least a bit closer
Can we come with you?
Yes
Mitchell is gonna lose
Should I climb?
Hello, I'm Lente
I'm Martien
Wait, do you have the door?
Yes
Hi, I'm Lente
Hi Alwin
Where are we going to again?
You tell me? Amsterdam, airplanes?
Yes we are going towards Amsterdam Schiphol
How far is Beverwijk away from Amsterdam?
Half an hour?
Maybe not
I think i'm closer with my 20 minutes guess
This is perfect
They're still in Beverwijk
At the market
So I can keep watching where they are
But the problem is..
I'm driving in a car with stickers on it so..
I'm easy to spot
That sucks
But where are they?
Search and you will find
Where can they be?
Meanwhile
That car with LASTIG. on it
There he is driving, seriously!
and he doesn't know we are on the way already
Beautiful this, i'm so happy with you all
Alright, so we are going to De Wallen
There they have to come to within 2 hours
If they don't make it then..
I will be the winner
and I don't have to clean the car
But if they do make it within 2 hours, I lose
So ill call them now, telling them they only have 2 hours
Hi, you both have 2 hours
2 hours? oh easy
You don't even know where we are anyways
I don't indeed
But where are you now?
Somewhere.. in Amsterdam
Are you already in Amsterdam?
Yes
That's not possible
It is..
I just saw you driving by in Beverwijk so that's not possible
I'm now driving on the highway
That's possible, which highway?
I wont tell you
What highway?
The A9 maybe?
No the A8
The A8?
Oh well we are going to the A5 now, bye!
Alright so they got a ride
Thanks a lot
Goodluck both of you
We are in Hoofddorp at a MC Donalds
Thank you very much
Good luck with spotting airplanes
We will have to try at the MC Donalds
and best of luck
Alright i'm now in Amsterdam
To be precise in the Nieuwe Markt
Walk..
People that stand still in front of a crosswalk
But i'm now nearby De Wallen
I have no idea where Jeffrey and Lente are at the moment
Because they wont tell me
So we shall see
I hope I win and that they're not there
I really do
Can I ask you something?
Yes
Where is the ride going to?
Home
Which way is that?
Towards ehm ...
Oh we need to go to Amsterdam
We were dropped in Beverwijk and need to go towards Amsterdam
We thought we are now dropped in the MC Donalds
So we should be able to find someone
But no one is going towards that way
No we are not going that way
Stop recording!
We just got dropped and are doing a challenge
for YouTube
We need to go to Amsterdam
Amsterdam, we already got really far
Are you maybe going to Amsterdam?
No?
Thanks anyways
We are doing a challenge for YouTube
We got dropped in Beverwijk
and we need to go to Amsterdam
We have no money and are busy for hours
and its cold!
Excuse me?
Alright, I just arrived
At De Wallen in Amsterdam
I have no idea where Lente and Jeffrey are
But if they..
Let's see
If they aren't here within 2 hours..
They have 1 hour left
1 hour..
Too bad
Maybe that taxi will take us
No, hes driving away
Okay come on
I'm done with this!
and you guys? are you done with this as well?
If you like the video, gives it a thumbs up
How we are struggeling
Leave in the comments below if
we are doing a good job
and I have it so cold!
It's really cold
I think I have mentioned in this video
100 times how cold I have
Jeffrey these sweet people will drop us at Amstel
Super!
You have no idea where it is of course
No, but I have heard from you
that it's a good sign
Indeed, even walking we will reach it I think
We are now nearby Schiphol
This should be possible
Mitchell, fuck you
Okay, so Lente and Jeffrey are at the side
they got dropped out of the car
How? I have no idea
Mitchell is saying a bunch of bullshit here
and they have about 1 hour left
It's possible cause I also was here in 30 minutes
from Beverwijk to here
So it's possible, but
They don't have transport
No public transport, no car, no bike
They only have 2 legs they can walk on
We will see how it goes
1 hour left at least
This will be fun
Where are you coming from?
We got dropped in Beverwijk
There we got a ride really quickly
from a really nice family
They are incidentally going to spot airplanes
in Hoofddorp
Everything closer to Amsterdam was good of course
Hopefully..
Where do you need to be in Amsterdam?
We live in South East
There I know the way very well
I live in South-Holland so I've no idea
We will be fine
Oh there are driving buses, no trains
Yes but illegal using the public transport..
Yeah it sucks anyways, but would've been our last option
That's true
Alright we are now in Amstel
What is our plan?
Are we going to walk a bit?
or are we going straight for a ride?
You know the area so..
It's at least that way
So let's go that way for a bit
We could ask a taxi driver
but they wont do it anyways
Indeed I think it would be a time waste
So let's not do that
I'm very hungry!
Too bad Mitchell!
Alright, so we are next to the Bananabar
with a nice beer
Where is your beer?
You don't like beer right?
But we have beer!
We just texted Mitchell
I will show it right now
"We got kicked out in Haarlem"
"How long is it to walk from Haarlem to Amsterdam?"
He will drive by any moment
because he is searching for the Bananabar
There he is!
There he is! oh my god
Does he see us?
Get down
I think he spotted us
There he is
Yeah i'm sure he found us
Let's go with our beer to him
So Lente is in Haarlem
I'm going to call her
Because they have 20 minutes
Is she calling someone? to ask to pick her up
I hope not
20 minutes left
You both were you already for a while
We were next to the Bananabar drinking beer
Look at the mess in your car
It needs to get cleaned up
but
but
but
Look on Facebook
What is there on Facebook?
I will show you
Proof that I've been here for longer than 2 hours
We don't care it's not 5:30 yet
Open the door
I think Mitchell will buy the beer for us
I love this
Too bad Mitchell
You lost!
How long have you been here?
About 20 minutes?
How did you both get here so fast?
You will see that back in the video
We went from Amsteldijk to Amstel
and then we kept walking
Meanwhile you called us
and we told you we were kicked out of the car
in Beverwijk
But we were already in Amsterdam
But seriously, people saw you
People saw you and left you behind
they told me on Facebook
Really?
Yes
Or it's fake
No, they knew exactly where you both were
People recognized her
Yes people recognized me
2 times
and they helped us!
Helped you?
You haven't done your job well Mitchell
I was 3 times live on Facebook
I think we will finish this video now
Jeffrey come, cheers
We won
Mitchell i'm sorry
If you liked the video, thumbs up
and leave a comment telling us if you liked it
that we have won!
In the extra video you will see
that Mitchell is going to clean the car
and then we will sit next to him with wine or something
or cola what do I care
How he is going to clean the car in front of my house
you will see in the next video
Have a nice day!
See you next week!
