सैंडफोर्ड फ्लेमिंग: टाइम जोन के जनक को

गूगल डूगल का सलाम गूगल डूडल ने 7 जनवरी

को सर सैंडफोर्ड फ्लेमिंग को उनके

190वें जन्मदिन पर याद किया है.

सर फ्लेमिंग को दुनिया मे टाइम जोन्स का

जनक माना जाता है. कहा जाता है कि आयरलैंड

में सफर के दौरान एक ट्रेन छूट जाने

के बाद उनके दिमाग में स्टैंडर्ड टाइम

जोन का विचार आया. तीन साल बाद उन्होंने

फरवरी 1879 को रॉयल कनैडियन इंस्टिट्यूट में

यह विचार रखा. 1884 में यह विचार 25 देशों

ने अपना लिया.

25 साल बाद करीबन पूरा देश इसे अपना चुका

था. गूगल डूडल ने 7 जनवरी

को उनके 190वें जन्मदिन पर उनके इस विचार

को सलाम किया है.

सैडंफोर्ड पेशे से इंजीनियर थे और कनाडा

में रेलवे के विस्तार में उनकी अहम भूमका

रही थी. इसके अलावा उन्होंने 1851 कनाडा

के पहले व सबसे प्रसिद्ध डाक टिकट को भी डिजाइन

किया था. इस डाक टिकट पर उन्होंने एक 'बीवर'

का तस्वीर लगाई थी. हालांकि सरकार चाहती

थी कि टिकट पर ब्रिटेन की महारानी महारानी

विक्टोरिया की तस्वीर हो.

ब्रिटेन की इसी महारानी विक्टोरिया ने 1897

में उन्हें नाइटहुड से सम्मानित किया.

उनके जन्मदिन पर जानिए उनसे जुड़े

फ्लेमिंग ने कनाडा की पहली पोस्टेज

स्टांप बनाई थी।

उसपर उन्होंने उदबिलाव की तस्वीर लगाकर

वहां की सरकार को ललकारा था।

फ्लेमिंग उस रेलवे के चीफ इंजीनियर

थे जो कि कनाडा के अटलांटिक और पेसेफिक

के तटों को जोड़ती थी।

3.

फ्लेमिंग की पत्नी की मौत फ्रांस के

एक फैमली ट्रिप के दौरान हुई थी।

4.

जिस वक्त फ्लेमिंग का निधन हुआ उस वक्त

भी वह ओंटारियो में क्वींस कॉलेज के

कुलपति थे।

5.

कनाडा में नोवा स्कोटिया (Nova Scotia) में फ्लेमिंग

के नाम पर एक पार्क भी है।

जो कि रात में घूमने आने वालों के लिए

जन्नत से कम नहीं माना जाता।
