FIRST Global Signature Video - Duration: 4:07.

I feel like there's a desperate need for

first global more than ever because more

than ever the world is becoming a

fragile environment in which billions

and billions of people are more and more

dependent on the great advantages and

opportunities of technology, the Internet,

water, food, the environment, all of which

in order to sustain it and make it more

available to millions of people is going

to require more and more innovation in

every aspect of engineering that we now do.

I like fixing things, stuff that really gets you going.

Yeah, that's me.

Hi! I'm Shams from Bangladesh, Shams Jaber.

And I'm an entrepreneur. I am the founder

of the tech Academy which was founded

almost 3 to 4 years back. I myself

was really kind of frustrated with the way

the schools around here and the

curriculum and the academics and all of

that. I felt that there was no room for

innovating, no room for creating things

or teaching children how to solve

problems, or how to approach a problem.

The most amazing thing that I found

about my about my mentor is that he

taught me how to be a rebel. The kids in

many of the developing world country

more than anybody need to see the power

and accessibility of science, technology,

and engineering so that they can create

their own careers and their own positive

environments to improve their standard of

living and quality of life. I believe

that creating FIRST Global as a way to

accelerate the ability of FIRST and its

ideas about cooperation and competition

and gracious professionalism can reach

all around the globe as fast as possible

is an imperative for our generation to

deliver to the next generation.

Because this is the future we have to like walk side by

side by the world so we can enhance

our country and fix the problems

of the whole of the whole planet earth

and of bangladesh and of the whole universe.

I want to pursue a career in

this because technology and sciences are

the future and for me as a girl it's a

really big thing for me being this

because there are not many actual girls

in technology right now.

I would like to motivate all the girls, all the ladies,

who have a passion for this but who

think they cannot make it.

I'm the proof that they can make it.

Everything is possible as long as you're

confident and you believe is yourself.

DOCTORS HAVE THE NEEDED TRAINING

TO PRESCRIBE IT, AND THE

GOVERNMENT HAS STRICT GUIDELINES

ON HOW MANY PEOPLE A DOCTOR CAN

TREAT AT ONCE.

AND THERE'S THE OPIATE BLOCKER

NALTREXONE, A LONG-ACTING

INJECTION LASTING 30 DAYS.

STUART SAYS TAKING BUPRENORPHINE

COUNSELING, A ROOF OVER HER

HEAD, AND STRUCTURE.

ANNIES BAILEY-JACKSON IS THE

RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR FOR THE

GROUP HOME.

ANNIES BAILEY-JACKSON: NO MATTER

HOW BAD THINGS GET, IF YOU HAVE

SOME PLACE TO CALL HOME AND SOME

PLACE TO COME, YOU LEARN THAT I

DON'T HAVE TO BE OUT THERE BY

MYSELF.

I HAVE SOMEBODY WHO WORRIES

ABOUT ME.

REPORTER: SO FAR, STUART SAYS

THE MEDICATION, COUNSELING AND

GROUP HOME GIVE HER HOPE SHE CAN

CHANGE HER LIFE.

ASHLEY: I FEEL LIKE I'M ABLE TO

ACTUALLY PERCEIVE THE LIFE I'VE

ALWAYS IMAGINED I'D HAVE.

WHICH IS HAVING A NICE JOB, A

BIG HOUSE, AND A FAMILY AND A

DOG.
