The Biggest Psychology News Stories of 2016 - Duration: 6:11.

Every day, scientists are working toward a better understanding of the human mind.

And during 2016, there were some huge news stories involving psychology.

In July, for example, Pokemon GO took the world by storm.

Now you've probably heard way too much about it by now, you've probably installed and

uninstalled Pokemon GO on your phone by now, but just in case you don't know what this

is:

It is a smartphone game that combines augmented reality technology with GPS, so you can wander

around your neighborhood and "catch" Pokemon in the real world.

With more downloads during its first week than any other iPhone app in history, it's

clear that something about Pokemon GO really spoke to us – but what?

The game is too new for psychologists to have conducted any studies, but we know from past

research that different parts of the game really appeal to our brains.

For many young adults, this reboot of a classic game gave them lots of nostalgia, which seems

like a sad emotion, but it's actually good for you psychologically.

Nostalgia increases optimism and social connectedness by reminding you of good times, like trading

Pokemon cards or battling on the playground with friends.

Not to mention, this game gets you out of the house.

And exercise is good for mental health, lowering levels of stress hormones like cortisol and

adrenaline, and releasing endorphins to improve your mood.

Also, the game is super rewarding.

Catching new Pokemon and leveling up are digital rewards, but they're exciting and frequent,

and keep you hooked.

No word yet on why so many of us stopped playing… maybe it's because people start leveling

up slower, or finding fewer new Pokemon, so that sense of achievement started going away.

Or maybe it's just because our batteries kept dying and we were like, 'oh, I actually

need my phone for- for other things… besides Pokemon'.

In other news, last spring, scientists announced that some brain research might be seriously

affected by computer problems.

Functional magnetic resonance imaging, or fMRI, is a technique that uses electromagnets

to measure brain activity safely, without sticking anything in there.

And it does that by measuring blood flow.

When regions of the brain are active – when those neurons are firing in response to a

stimulus or task – they need more oxygen, so more blood flows there.

Researchers depend on computer programs to analyze fMRI data and figure out if changes

in blood flow are significant or not.

For a couple years, there's been talk in scientific communities about possible problems

with these computer programs.

And in May, a study reported that they might be getting it wrong more often than they should.

Some scientists decided to test popular software programs for fMRI analysis on some resting-state

fMRI data from almost 500 control subjects.

Normally, they'd expect to see a false positive rate of about 5%, meaning that 5% of the time,

the software would say that there's a change in brain activity when there wasn't really

a change.

Instead, with some analysis methods, the scientists found higher false positive rates, sometimes

even up to 70%, meaning that the software was artificially inflating the significance

of the results.

This has gotten a bit overblown with lots of headlines saying "15 years of fMRI data

are bunk".

Not all fMRI research uses the specific kinds of analysis that seem to have problems.

Some past fMRI studies will need reevaluating, if they used these specific programs and kinds

of analyses, and especially if their results weren't strongly significant in the first

place.

But this is not the end of fMRI.

With this information, programmers can design better software for the future, and scientists

are encouraged to share more of their data for easier double-checking with newer analysis

methods.

Lastly, near the end of the year, some scientists found that men who upheld masculine norms,

especially ones associated with sexism, had worse mental health than those who didn't.

The meta-analysis that made these big, controversial waves was published in November, looking at

78 studies with almost 20,000 male participants.

The researchers focused on behavioral norms that could be considered traditionally masculine,

like dominance, violence, and the pursuit of status.

And they asked whether or not strong attachment to these kinds of norms could predict mental

health conditions, or willingness to seek psychological counseling.

They found that three things were especially associated with negative mental health outcomes:

self-reliance, pursuit of sexual promiscuity, and power over women.

Men who strongly valued those norms, which are also closely linked to sexist attitudes,

had a little bit more difficulty with social functioning and more psychological stress

than men who didn't.

This kind of makes sense for a few reasons.

Placing lots of value on being self-reliant can be alienating in our social and interconnected

culture, and it can make it harder to ask for help if you need it.

On the other hand, sexual promiscuity, which they describe as a "playboy" reputation,

and a desire to have power over women can have serious impacts on social relationships.

Holding onto these attitudes can be isolating – and isolation contributes to poor mental

health.

Combined with traditionally masculine norms like "men don't show emotion", men who

stick to these values might be less likely to seek mental health care.

It's important to know, of course, that the study has its limitations, too.

First, it was based on correlations between these norms and mental health, not experiments

where they changed variables to analyze causes and effects.

It only focused on participants from English-speaking countries, and a lot of them were white males

from the U.S.

So they can't know much about how holding these values affects other groups – like

women, or individuals in non-English-speaking countries.

And even though "playboy" behavior and self-reliance seem to have a negative impact,

other traditionally masculine behaviors – like putting work first, and taking a lot of risks

– weren't associated with poor mental health.

Finally, because the researchers only looked at one set of masculine norms, this research

doesn't say anything about the health impacts of less masculine or more feminine norms.

Even with these weaknesses, this meta-analysis highlights a need for psychologists to better

understand gendered values and the roles they play in our lives.

So, 2016 was a pretty wild year for a lot of reasons, and what we learned about psychology

was no exception.

All of this research sets up a foundation for psychologists to learn more in the future

- and we look forward to sharing more knowledge with you on our upcoming psychology channel,

Natural fertilizer for plants from potatoes and carrots - Duration: 2:35.

Hi I'm George. In this video we make an experiment

as you can see I prepare the food, do some kind of salad. but

Look what we do

Boil carrots with potatoes

must boil carrots, still little

and we will use this water to plants

So I do an experiment on bananas

in this boiled water must contain nutrients

so that fertilizer was cold, and I put it in this bottle

and look what color it is, Now we have to water the two bananas

which I obtained from seeds, and we will see how it will feel further with potato and carrot fertilizer

I think it will feel good, as this fertilizer has many minerals, nutrients

and so we will pour the fertilizer but not much and

and I will water every week

we see how the banana will evolve so I will put to light

Now let's pour this natural fertilizer

do not think that is wine, not wine

So we have these two bananas

We will experimenting with these bananas

It has a label: Musa helen's hybrid 2015

and we put fertilizer

in once per week

Now pour fertilizer

pour a little here

well, enough

and this

pour a little more because is bigger

enough

and we will see how it will develop, will have to grow older leaves wider

ready for today, thank you for watching

I hope my banana trees to be beautiful

so leave a like, distribute this video and subscribe to my channel

3 Things I Learned from Body of Work by Pamela Slim - Duration: 7:02.

in this video I'm sharing three things i

learned from the book Body of Work by

Pamela Slim and this book is basically

how to find that one thread that ties

everything that you do together see

previously and you know our parents

generation for example we used to these

to give us advice about going to school

getting in with a good company

establishing a good career you would go

in you would you get trained you slowly

get promoted and move up and grow and

develop and at the end after 20 or 30

years or whatever you get a nice pension

retirement and you have this entire

career to look back on that you had

built and that was kind of what you left

behind it was fulfilling satisfying all

of all of those things but now times are

different

see now people go to work and they work

for a company for maybe two or three

years and then they switch when they go

somewhere else and they're not just

switching from one company to another

but they're oftentimes changing careers

and even if they don't want to change

you know we could we have a lot of

layoffs and things like that that

environmental effects or sometimes

forced to and so now we have situations

where people are they'll say things like

I'm an accountant full-time but on the

side and pursuing a photography business

or I'm a data analyst but i'm also

trying to write a novel on a project

manager but also volunteer doing it you

know for a particular nonprofit and so

we have what we do but we also have the

other things that we pursue on the side

a lot of times they seem very

disconnected

nothing is tying them together other

than the fact that it's simply the same

person doing it and so this book gives

you is basically a playbook

it teaches you how to go to an SS your

relationships your inventory of skills

and all these different things to find

the commonality in what you do and so

the three things that took away was

number one obviously is the idea the

mindset of creating a body of work in a

body of work which is what Pamela slim

says in the book it's basically

everything that you create that you

contribute tangible or intangible at the

end of your life that's basically that

is your legacy is the impact that you

left with this body of work that you

created whether it's the things that

you're doing full-time or part-time or

freelancing or whatever it may be but

put all together

that's the body of work they're going to

look back

reflect on see that this is what i have

left behind when we have that mindset of

one to create a body of work it really

starts to shape and affect the decisions

that we make and so maybe I'm deciding

between two different graduate programs

are two different job offers

well now looking at it with the mindset

of a body of work that's going to change

the way that I make the decision because

now maybe i'm not looking so much only

at the monetary invocation policy in the

company culture but now i'm going to

look more at am I going to develop the

skills that I want to develop am I going

to be given a chance to go about doing

meaningful work and my serving the type

of people that I want to serve my

solving up types of problems that i want

to solve when I'm able to do these

things that i gave myself a lot more

purpose and more driven but i also have

something that take more pride upon and

looking back and saying that this is the

legacy that I left behind the second

thing that took away was the idea of

sowing seeds if you've been following

the videos that I've been doing one

thing that you'll start to notice is

that there's a certain commonality and

that some of the lessons are very basic

and the day I say maybe even cliché to

some extent such as the idea of sowing

season

who's willing to put the work unless

they planting a tree

even though they might not live long

enough to bear its fruit to see bear

fruit

who's going to do that type of work but

the real the real insight comes from the

nuance of the author ads into that the

author ads into those basic lessons in

this case it was the idea of 20 xing the

amount of seeds that you plan see a

Muslim says in the book that guess we're

going to plant seeds we got the 20 extra

effort if you truly want to plant the

type of seed that's going to leave the

type of legacy that you want to leave so

if you're going to be testing three

product ideas for example test 60 if

you're going to be pitching five new

clients on something pitch a hundred new

clients instead whatever it is if you

really want to leave a body of work if

you really want to have that meaningful

impact for legacy is going to require

hustle you have to 20 x the effort to

get the types of results that we want to

get the third thing that I learned from

this book and this one of my favorite

phrases was something that Pamela's

some calls success dysmorphia and what

that means that we judge our level of

success through somebody else's lens and

what that does is it is not only

demoralizing but it makes it very

difficult to grow with the developing to

try new things I remember watching the

show MasterChef junior with my kids and

I was blown away because cooking is

something that I've been I've wanted to

learn that maybe tried to learn a little

bit and now I turn on the TV and I see

these eight-year-old nine year old kids

and they've got very advanced cooking

skills and no flavor combinations and

all these different things that it might

take me years to learn so it's very easy

to look at that and say well what's the

point of doing that thing about someone

wants to become a photographer they

might want Instagram they see all you

know they see all these amazing

professional photographers and they say

we'll look I'm already at this

particular stage in my life there's no

way that I have the time or the capacity

to learn to get to that level

well the thing is that the problem with

that is that we're judging our success

through somebody else's lens and when we

do that we're not going to be able to do

it instead we need to have a different

mindset we need to have obviously like a

growth mindset but also we need to

change our definition of success and one

of the examples that she gives in the

book is let's say for example someone's

trying to lose weight they develop a

habit of walking 30 minutes every day

now it's very easy to say well okay i'm

still overweight I'm still not the shape

that I want to be a look around and see

all these other people at the gym or

whatever and they're in that peak prime

physical condition that i want or the

physique that I want to have what is

walking 30 minutes every day going to do

for me what she says is that you have to

change your perception

maybe it's saying that ok i've got a

full-time demanding job i come home I've

got family I've got kids other demands

on my time I've also got the freelancer

volunteers in comments about all of

these things going on and if I still

managed to carve out 30 minutes a day to

go for a walk I need to take some pride

in that effort and stable you know what

with all these challenges that i have

i've managed to walk for 30 minutes

every day and that in and of itself is a

success and so we take pride in that

accomplishment and one of the things

that she one of the people she quotes in

the book says that their definition of

success is having gratitude for what

they're able to do in that more

meant but still having the desire to

continue to strive in to succeed and to

improve and that drive to continually

improve that in and of itself is success

and so that's three things i learned

from the book body of work of Hamelin

got a link to buy the ticket the book in

NS System - Everything You Need to Know - Duration: 1:31:12.

Hello, everyone! Today I'm going to show you how to make money using NS System

First, let's assume you haven't created an NS System account yet...

We'll go to g0ldent1ps.com/ns

Make sure you type g0lden with a zero, and t1ps with a one. (g0ldent1ps)

Anyway, I'm going to provide a link in the description just in case

Now we go to Sign Up

So we can explain everything, so anyone will know exactly how to use NS System

I'm going to use a random name like Test Test

However, when you sign up, make sure you use your real info in case we'd like to contact you about something

Anyway

No need to provide a phone number

As a new user, if you don't want to provide your phone number, it's alright

Now you tick this box right here

Username, for example, test123

I'm going to use my own email, so I can receive the confirmation code

Password, I'm going to use 123456789, because it has to be 8 characters or longer

Tick the 'I agree to the terms and rules' box

If you want to read them, they're not too many. Here they are

We've also included the option to translate them, so you can choose the language you understand most

Even if the translation is not 100% accurate, you can still understand thanks to the main keywords

This is just in case you want to read the terms and rules. Truth is, nobody reads them

That's one of the biggest lies on the Internet.

*Hah*

Once you're done filling in the blanks, click Sign Up

Click OK

If you want to save your password for easy access in the future, click Save

Now we go to the Gmail inbox in order to get the confirmation code

You can either click this button right here, or you can copy this code. It's exactly like Facebook

Just like when you confirm a Facebook account for the first time

Now, we paste the code

Click Confirm

The minute you do that, you get automatically redirected to the Welcome Page

Where you can find many things like this table right here

which consists of Free User features VS. Premium User features

And the most distinctive features are:

*stuffed nose ugh*

You can only create up to 5 short links per request

Unlike premium where you can create up to 100 links per request

And also, as a premium user, the user quota is unlimited unlike a free user which is 5000 short links only

Note that as a free user, you can use up all the 5000 links for a whole month, earning $30 minimum up to $150

It all depends on your sense of continuity, plus where you share your links

Just like when you're fishing, you won't always catch fish, unless you're persistent

The point of all this is, you can work as a free user at first starting from scratch until you earn some cash

then you can subscribe as an Elite member, paying a small price from the cash you make thanks to NS System

So you won't have to pay using the cash you earn in real life

unlike websites like eToro which you have to invest your hard-earned cash, while hoping for the best like a desperate gambler

This is different compared to other websites. The time you spend chit-chatting on Facebook can be turned into profit

Here's a brief explanation in English. I think it's fair enough that the audio is in the Moroccan dialect, while the subtitles are in English

Here are some videos that explain how to use NS System, but in this particular video, I'm going to cover everything

First thing we're going to do now is go to SHORTENERS API

Here, we want to provide AdFly credentials

In case you already have an AdFly account, click GET API KEY, and you'll be redirected to the API documentation page

from which we get the 3 entries we need to submit to the system through these 3 boxes right here

Let me see if I'm already logged in...yes. I've already created a test account

Let's assume you want to create a new AdFly account

Hover over the animated flying bee, then it says

IN CASE YOU DON'T HAVE AN AdFly ACCOUNT, CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

I'll click using the mouse wheel to open the link in a new tab

But since I'm already logged in to an account, I'll open the link in a new incognito window

the one that doesn't save any cookies and whatnot, so...

Once you click that, click Join Now, fill in all the necessary blanks, tick I agree and click Join

you copy the confirmation code, then you click the confirmation link, then you submit the c-

you know what? I'll just show you more details on how to do it

knowing that I did sign up earlier while I was trying to record the video in English(audio) and subtitles in Moroccan

It's not easy for me, because it's hard enough to improvise with my mother tongue, let alone with a second language

Especially that this is not scripted, plus I could barely speak using my mother tongue due to my sickness

Anyway, I'll create a new fake email, since I've used a real one for the previous failed recording

using a Chrome extension called Blur which helps create multiple temporary email accounts

Here we go... click Blur

*UNIMPORTANT DETAILS! PLEASE SKIP TO 12:55!*

Tick 'Don't show this message again' to stop this from showing again *duh*

As soon as you log in, go finish updating your account details like it says here

In order to get paid, you have to provide all necessary account details

Here you type in your home address

Here you type in your city's name

I'll just use my real home address as an example

If ISIS want to bomb my location, let them come for all I care *Hehe*

Here you have to type in 00 instead of + for this latter is an invalid character in this field

Enable Mobile App ads

Make sure this one is also set to Yes, so the visitor can skip the AdFly top banner to access your website

If you set this to No, the banner will stay there, and the visitor will feel deceived

That he would probably close the window because his visit would even count

So it's better if you leave it that way (Set to Yes)

This one warns people who use AdBlock Plus to disable it, since we're trying to make money, obviously

so set it to Yes as well, because each visitor is considered valuable

Here you type in your PayPal email, like so

Assuming my AdFly and PayPal account both use the same email. It's better that way in order to avoid any confusion later on

Once you're done filling in all the blanks, click Update Account

then you can start working, while avoiding any problems such as

You've earned some cash, then forgot to add your PayPal account

Look what it says here

Which means, you won't be able to get paid 3 days after you update your account details

So if you supposedly update your account details at the end of the month

You won't be able to withdraw money until the end of next month

which is why it's better to update your account details as soon as you sign up for AdFly

In case you want to change the password, do so then click Update Account

Now let's go back to NS System

so we can submit AdFly credentials right here in order for the earnings to show up here

So you won't have to access your AdFly account every time

Now we click GET API KEY

I'm already logged in to another account

but what really matters is showing you how to integrate AdFly with NS System

First we copy the User ID, and paste it in the first box

Second, we copy the Public API Key, and paste it in the second box

and finally, we copy the Secret API Key, which needs to be created

Let me show you how to get your Secret API Key

When you click the blue text in the red box, then the Secret API key is created

Let's go back and use the same account we used before as an example now that you know how it's done

Same thing, really

Now, we copy this code, and paste it in the last box

When you're done filling all the blanks, click SUBMIT

Click OK, then wait...

Bluehost servers suck, hence the slow response, not necessarily my Internet connection

You know your AdFly credentials have been successfully submitted, when the bee stops moving, and now you're ready to earn money using AdFly

In case you'd like to earn money using Shorte.st, you also hover over the Ninja's head

It says IN CASE YOU DON'T HAVE A SHORTE.ST ACCOUNT, CLICK HERE TO REGISTER

then you follow the instructions shown in the pic

Let's create a new account, shall we?

Click join

I'll use my real email

I'll let Blur create a strong password for me

Tick the "I'm not a robot" box in order to solve the CAPTCHA

Click REGISTER, and Bob's your uncle!

Alright! Let's save the password...

Let's go check out our inbox/spam folder for the activation code

Here it is in the inbox folder. Good.

Either click the button CLICK HERE or the hypertext link below it in order to confirm our Shorte.st account

While you're logged in, click GET API TOKEN, then you're redirected to where your API token at

As you can see, it says KONNICHIWA, TEST-SAN! because the random name is TEST

You paste the API token here, then click SUBMIT

Then it says Shorte.st API TOKEN HAS BEEN UPDATED. Click OK

That's pretty much it. The Ninja stops greeting you as well, which means you've succesfully submitted your API token

And the reason I hide the API tokens is for security and privacy purposes

Same case with Bitly. Let's go create a new Bitly account by clicking GET API KEY

Here we are. I don't have an account so I'll click Sign Up Now

I'll use a random username, my real email, strong password by Blur, tick the "I'm not a robot" box, and click CREATE ACCOUNT

Now that we're done signing up, here's our LOGIN and API key

Now we copy the LOGIN, and paste it here

This is in case you want to shorten your links using Bitly instead of Google(default)

Because Bitly's quota is only 5,000 short links per month, while Google's quota is a million which is better

Now we copy Bitly's API KEY, and we paste it in the second box right here, then we click SUBMIT

We click OK

Now we go to LINKS GENERATOR, the first page

This BITLY option is grayed out — unavailable — if you don't submit your Bitly LOGIN and API

Of course we can use it now because we've already submitted our Bitly credentials

Just click it, and you'll be able to create Bitly short links.

Like I said earlier, as a free user, you can only create 5 short links per request

Now, oh, it's better not to forget to verify our Bitly account

via the email we receive in the inbox to avoid getting the account deleted due to spam

Here you place the DESTINATION URL which is the link that will be visited by real visitors

For example, you can place there one of your YouTube videos URLs, or any kind of URL from Google search

Since it's going to get shortened using AdFly automatically as shown here

This is a neat trick I've discovered while I was sharing links on Facebook

It tricks Facebook bots into going to an error 404 page

so that real people can visit the actual DESTINATION URL

If you don't want to use this feature, although it's very effective when it comes to bringing traffic

You can untick the box like so, and place a related URL in the REDIRECTION URL

I'll give you an example

You have a an article in a blog about Cristiano Ronaldo buying a Ferrari or something like that

And your blog isn't that famous nor is it trustworthy

So you'll look for a similar article in a famous website like BBC or The Guardian or New York Times etc.

then you'll copy its URL and place it in the second box which is REDIRECTION URL

And in the box above, you'll place your own article's link

So when you post the about-to-be-created short link on Facebook, it will look like the visitor will visit The New York Times

or any other fancy website of your choosting, so the visitor will be like, "Oh, this is the New York Times! I have nothing to worry about!"

So when the visitor clicks the link, he won't feel deceived, because both your article and NYT's are similar

What else?

You tick Shorte.st if you want to use Shorte.st to shorten your DESTINATION URL

It doesn't mean you're going to create 5 different shorte.st links

It's actually 5 Google-or-Bitly-shortened links that redirect to AdFly-or-Shorte.st-shortened DESTINATION URL

It depends on your choice. Let's choose AdFly for now

This one is optional in case you already have a visit counter on your website, so you don't need NS System to count visits for you. It's better to leave it unticked anyway, because you'd want to know how many visits you got via NS System

Of course if you don't have your own website, don't tick it at all, so NS System can count visitors that click your short links

Here you can choose which domain to double-shorten the DESTINATION URL. This is different from Google or Bitly

These domains are meant to protect your DESTINATION URL at all costs from getting blocked by Facebook moderation

You can use place your DESTINATION URL without ticking AdFly or Shorte.st, and it will be protected anyway

in case your website has AdSense ads on it, so AdSense and AdFly/Shorte.st are a bad combo, so you need to untick both AdFly and Shorte.st

So you place your DESTINATION URL here, and it does not get shortened using AdFly or Shorte.st, so visits will access it directly, and it won't get blocked. Even if it were blocked by Facebook already, Visitors can still access it

It's protected by NS System which cloaks it using one of these domains, as you can see

No need to change the domain, because the first one is the common one among the five

In case you want to share your short links with an automatically-created comment next to them

A long comment contains both the title and description grabbed from the REDIRECTION URL

While a short comment only contains the title grabbed from the REDIRECTION URL

This can only work if there's a REDIRECTION URL to grab the title/description from

But, if BOT'S DEAD END is ticked, no comment will be grabbed from an error 404 page

The reason why I include these 2 options is that users won't have to type in their own comment

Plus it's not really necessary to do so while you're sharing links on Facebook, replying to others

— As I'm going to show you how it's done real soon — so no need for comments

This one's good for those who want to work via phone although the performance might be slow on a phone, obviously

switching back and forth from window to window can be tiresome using a phone

This MOBILE MODE is automatically ticked if you're logged on via phone

So each short link will be displayed in a separated field for easy copying

unlike DESKTOP MODE which displays a single big box. Here's an example:

But first, let's check out these 2 empty boxes here

When you create new short links, placing first a link in the DESTINATION URL, and another one in the REDIRECTION URL

Or when you tick the BOT's DEAD END box...

Let's get a link to test out the whole thing...

We have a website named cooltips.cf that contains dozens of articles

For instance, let's pick an article like: Why you should play video games more often

We copy the article's link, and paste it in the first box(DESTINATION URL)

Let's tick AdFly, so this link will be automatically shortened using AdFly shortening service

Every NS System user and I personally use this feature(BOT's DEAD END)

because we don't need that similar REDIRECTION URL anymore

To make visitors believe that they're visiting a famous trusted website

Let's go look for an article online similar to Why You Should Play Video Games More Often

Let's look for a famous website...

Like Forbes for example which is well-known

The link is all messed up, but it doesn't matter

What matters is the article's link, and paste it in the REDIRECTION URL box

Now if you post the soon-to-be-created short link on Facebook, it will display Forbes' link's metadata

So people would trust to visit the link more, like I said before

But this is a somewhat obsolete trick

compared to the one that involves BOT'S DEAD END, which puts '404' in the REDIRECTION URL

In the end, it's up to you to decide which way you like best

Lately, everyone's been using BOT'S DEAD END, but for the sake of variety, we are all different to each his own

So even when I discover a new trick, I keep the old one, because it might still be useful for some

When you're done taking care of all this, click CREATE LINKS and wait...

As you can see, 5 sh-Oh, I didn't noticed selecting the BITLY option. No bigge.

Once you click inside the empty space in the box, all short links are automatically selected

Now we right-click them, and click "Cut"

Press R while holding Windows logo on the keyboard, then type in Wordpad

for it is the simplest text editor that doesn't consume as much memory as say, Microsoft Word

Now that we copied and pasted the short links

Let's go create a new Facebook account

This is a test.

For you, it's better to use your real old verified account(s)

because old FB accounts are more valuable and almost invincible when it comes to sharing links

But if you're worried about your personal Facebook account getting disabled, then don't

It's up to you whether to take that risk or not, and how deseparately you want to make money

We're in Facebook. Let's create a new account

*Mumbling new account details*

They asked for a phone verification. Fine!

Opening BlueStacks...

Anyway, this tutorial will be an all-in-one, and even if you don't need to do all this, but maybe you'll need to one day. You never know

Even if it sounds boring, you'll get the hang of everything related to how to make money using NS System

This is NextPlus; a mobile app that allows you to create a new US/CA phone number for free

which you can use to confirm a Facebook account

Let's click here. I've already signed up, and remember, this is just a test. It's better if you use old verified accounts

You may ask why. Because as soon as you create a Facebook account for the sole purpose of sharing links, it gets blocked soon after, unlike old Facebook accounts whose links remain on pages 24/7, and that means more traffic

that even when you go to bed, you may earn 2 or 3 bucks while you're asleep, that's why using old FB accounts is a lot better

I repeat: this is just a test, using a random new Facebook account

I'm checking to see if it allows me to re-change my free phone number as usual. Nope...

Let's see if I'm lucky enough to verify this account using this phone number

Great! I think it allowed me to verify it.

*Mumbling the verification code*

In case you want to use fake accounts, and download BlueStacks and NextPlus to get phone numbers, make sure your Facebook language is always in English. You may not receive a verification code if Facebook is in a different language.

Anyway, let's pick a profile pic

Let's get some meme from Google images

Oops! it's already there, so no need to download it.

Note that people will get paranoid, if you share links with no profile pic at all

thinking your shared links are infected, ,while in fact, they're really not

This is just to make Facebook users feel at home

just as a precaution. In fact, if people want to visit a link, they're going to visit, period

Anyway, now that we've uploaded a profile pic

Let me delete these FB bookmarks, so we can start from scratch

Now you're wondering where we're going to share those short links

You can share them anywhere you like, but this is how we roll in NS System

We hover over FB Pages Lists, then there are 4 pages lists

We drag & drop all of them to the bookmarks bar like so

*1...2...3... and 4*

Now we have 4 pages lists... let's close all these tabs to avoid distractions

We got, the first, the second, the third and the fourth pages list

The best thing about pages lists is that each list can contain a lot of pages with the latest posts

So you can be among the first who commented to increase the chances of getting more traffic

Commenting directly used to work about a year ago, but now it's highly unlikely that your direct comments will appear to other Facebook users

So instead, we reply to the top 2 comments for more traffic

Here's how we do it

We go back to Wordpad, and select/highlight a short link, then press [CTRL+X]

then we go back to Chrome using [Alt+Tab] back to the pages list

As you can see here, 2 people have commented already

If you reply to comments directly, chance are, you may get asked to solve a captcha, so it's better to reply something random first like '0', then click the down arrow, and click Edit, to edit your reply, then paste[CTRL+V] the link

Of course, this is a slow demonstration, but once you get used to it, it's easy as pie, as the saying goes

"PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT."

Here's a faster demonstration...

When it gets temporarily stuck like that, you can reply to some other comments on other pages instead of waiting

It's better if you only comment to the 2 top comments or 1. It depends on what you see

If you comment to more, you risk getting banned by the page's admin, and you also risked getting blocked by Facebook as well

This is pretty much what NS System's money-making job is all about

Sharing links this way. Now that we created and shared 5 short links

Time to create 5 more, and if you want to create 5 more with the same DESTINATION/REDIRECTION, just click CREATE MORE LINKS

If you prefer using Goo.gl short links, go back and choose the Google option

because Bitly's quota is 5,000 links only. Well it's only fitting for a free user during the first month

*Working...*

You can also LIKE the top 2 comments, so you'd probably get your replies LIKED back for more potential traffic

Just use your common sense, and stay creative for this doesn't require some unusual effort or anything

Anyway, let's go back now, and try the old post-sharing trick that uses the REDIRECTION URL's metadata

See how the system remembers the last used links? The video games article from Cool Tips shortened automatically using AdFly, and the error 404 not found Redirection URL...

Let's assume you want to create a short link and share it on your timeline. We'll use the same example, but we're going to change the REDIRECTION URL to that Forbes article instead of Error 404

Let's tick AdFly, and untick BOT'S DEAD END, and create only one short link, because we only need one to post it somewhere like Twitter -although the best social network for traffic is Facebook hands down

but if you have some experience with other social networks, feel free to do whatever you want, just avoid sharing pornographic content to avoid blocking our domains, your social accounts, and also your AdFly/Shorte.st account

The funny thing is, there's no need for thumbnails anymore in order for people to visit the links in the comments section. It used to be the other way around

This remember links feature allows you to remember the last used DESTINATION/REDIRECTION URLs you used to create short links. If you untick the REMEMBER LINKS box, the system won't remember the next D/R URLs you used to create short links

Now we want to create a single short link, and share it on the Facebook timeline. Since this is a single short link, no need to remember its D/R URLs, because we won't share it many times in the comments section.

Since we want to remember the AdFly link and the 404 page, because they're the ones we share frequently, let's untick the REMEMBER BOX now that we're sharing a single short link on the timeline

This time I chose the Google shortening service option. Go to the timeline, and post the link

I'll set this to Public

As you can see, this is the Forbes' article's link metadata

It's better to delete the short link afterwards, so it would look more legit

Click Post

Hopefully, nothing will go wrong, because Facebook are constantly updating their security, so anything can happen

If you take a closer look at the bottom left corner of the page, while I'm hovering over this Super Mario thumbnail

That means that once we click the link, we're going to https://goo.gl/KeeEY3

and people are like, "Oh this is Forbes. Let's check it out!"

Once they click the link, they go straight to our AdFly link

*Oh, that photo.zip doesn't look good. AdFly needs to monitor their advertisers' activities*

*Talking about the irony which is me saying earlier that AdFly was safe, and now it prompts the download of a suspicious file*

Never mind that!

Click SKIP AD, and you'll be redirected to Cool Tips, our DESTINATION URL

If you share(reply) this short link or a similar one in the comments section, of course the thumbnail will appear there as well, but like I said, you're free to try whatever you like. Try both methods and see the difference

When we go back now, the last used D/R URLs won't be remembered, becase we unticked the REMEMBER LINKS box

It actually remembered the previous one which is the error 404 page; not Forbes article. However, if we kept the RL box ticked, it would've remembered Forbes article URL. Let's try to remember the Forbes article link this time

This time we'll post it in the comments section to see if the thumbnail's going to show or not — as a reply —

Let's cut the short link, and go back to see if it remembers the Forbes article URL this time. Here we go! See?

The point of remembering is, no need to refill in the D/R blanks every time. If you leave them empty, the system will automatically use the last used links

Moving on

Let's comment a '0' here *then edits and pastes the latest created short link*

As you can see, the thumbnail/title/description are all showing

This is how it's supposed to bring more traffic, but it used to be that way

As time passes, my big brother has noticed that the thumbnail doesn't have that nice effect on visitors anymore

and sometimes I was stubborn enough to try it anyway, and it worked, so try all methods yourself, and keep using the one that benefits you most. It's all about your own experience

By now, we're done explaining everything regarding LINKS GENERATOR

Now we'll go to...

This is to test if a short link is blocked by Facebook or not

This is an external tool, which is called "Sharing Debugger"

Let's paste the latest short link here, click Debug, and see what happens

It display all the short link's metadata that the Facebook bot sees — thumbnail, title, description etc.

This tool is usually used to see if a link is blocked or not. If you click Debug and it says, it's blocked without showing any metadata

This is URLS MANAGER where you can see each short link's amount of hits(clicks)

For instance, this link was clicked 6 times, and the one below it, 3 times, and the other one, 7 times...

The table also shows you the short link's REDIRECTION URL, real visitos go to AdFly, the Bitly-shorted link, everything...

And this one mentions the last time the short link was clicked

In case the short link was blocked by Facebook, click Hide URL so it won't remain with the good apples

For the good apples can be used later, and we'll show you how and why later on...

And here you can divide the table into the links you created TODAY/YESTERDAY/THIS MONTH/ALL TIME

This shows how many URLs you created so far, how many hits today, and the most visited URL for today

The most visited URL is shown at the bottom left corner of the page

This is a revolutionary tool. Thanks to it, we managed to know which pages bring more traffic, and which pages bring less

So you're like, "Oh, this page is awesome! I'll bookmark it now!"

For example, this short link right here that has 7 hits. I want to know where exactly I posted it

i,e the source. Let's go back to Facebook, click Activity Log, press CTRL + F, paste the short link, scroll down a littl-oh, I haven't posted many links anyway

Wait...

It appears the short link is not found, which means it was removed, and this doesn't always happen

We can also reverse look up a link from Activity Log to URLS MANAGER, but for now, let's look for another short link

Let's see where we posted this link. Click 'comment'

We posted it in a page called The SPORT Bible, which is one of the best Facebook pages, mind you

You have 2 options: either copy the FB page's link, or your reply's link *look at the bottom left corner*

To avoid confusion, copy the whole link, and paste it in the Source(P.U), by double clicking the corresponding cell, and paste the link there. Even if the text is not showing, click away, then the page will reload automatically

and the source will be added to the URLs Manager database

And now the system knows exactly where you posted this short link right here

You can visit the page's link as well like so

If you want to submit a specific reply's link, hover over the date when the reply was posted, right click that, then click 'Copy link address'

Go back to the URLs Manager table, and replace the source entry if it's not empty, then click away and wait

Now you can see the page's username. Click here and you'll be redirected straight to your reply

Here it is! It's up to you whether you want to choose to include the page's link or the reply's link. This is just to help you bookmark some good pages, so you can share links in a smart way and gain more traffic and earnings

Or, like we mentioned earlier, you can reverse look up a short link, assumg you have so many links, so you're like, "Oh, I want to know how many times this short link was visited" using the SEARCH input right above the URLs table

This short link's been visited only once so far. Assuming this short link has had so many hits, and you want to get the source where you posted it. It goes to the FB post where the link was posted anyway, so...

This shows the last time you clicked CREATE LINKS, and how many short links you created. The point of this is, sometimes the network goes off or some server error occurs and the links were already created, so you can find them here

and compare them with the short links in your WordPad document or your Facebook Activity Log

Next, ADD/DELETE DOMAINS, assuming you have your own hosting provider/domains, you can add a domain, and contact us, and we'll assign the domain to the server where NS System is hosted, so you can use your own domain as a shortener

You can choose to use the domain for yourself, or you can tick the PUBLIC box, then everyone in the system can use it. Just type in the domain name, then click add domain. Once added, you notify us, so we can assign the domain to the main server, so it can work properly. The domain shows up in the LINKS GENERATOR right here, let me show you

Next: USER STATISTICS, which shows you your today/yesterday/this month/last month/month before last's visits

Since this is a new account, so far we got 12 unique visitors

You can see the stats in 2 forms: A table and a pie chart

Here you can see more details about the statistics, like the evolution over a period of time, visits in the last 3 minutes similar to WHOS AMUNG US, and the real-time world map

Next: UPDATE PROFILE, in case you want to change/correct your full name, or add a phone number if you haven't added it, or change your email address or change your password if it's weak. This is similar to websites that have users

If you want to change how your system interface looks, THEME SETTINGS is your friend!

You can change the background, no background, no background repeat, detect background/body text/links/shadow color from the wallpaper. You can choose one of the default wallpapers, or you can get a wallpaper URL from Google Images

If you hover over here it says, "Place the cursor over a wallpaper to preview. Click a wallpaper to apply. For more epic HD Wallpapers, click here."

In case you find a bug in the system, or you want to send some positive/negative feedback, type whatever you like, then click SEND. Like the earlier example, if you want to assign a domain of yours to our system, you can contact me through here as well

This one is RECYCLING URLS: some links don't get visited much, and you have the ability to share them again. There are 2 levels: Low=> links that have 0-2 hits| Medium=> links that have 3-5 hits| Hard=> links that have 6-10 hits.

This can help you get the most out of your free account before you can decide to become an Elite Member. Who knows? Maybe you'll reach $150 or more if every short link of yours is clicked 10 times or more

Switch to Mobile Mode is for separated recycled short links, so copying them while using a phone would be a lot easier

This is it.

As you can see, we're merely testing, and the earnings have started to moving up. $0.01 5 visitors

If you want to become an Elite member, all you have to do is hover over SUBSCRIBE, then click the PayPal Subscribe button, or click the text above it to learn more about the premium features

This feature is very important and effective. It has a great positive impact on AdFly and all other shortening services and ad networks

You can hide an AdSense ad from countries that have low Cost Per Click(CPC), while you can redirect countries that can lower your Cost Per Mile(CPM) on AdFly. With this feature, you can earn $1 for 150-200 US visitors, meaning that between 750-1000 US Visitors, you could make $5 a day, and request a payment every day. How awesome is that!

This is a legit feature that can help you earn more

What else? The geo-targeting visitors feature is added in LINKS GENERATOR. You tick the box, and a list of countries show up, and all the countries are filtered from BEST to WORST. You can also choose to redirect non-selected countries to a different link. For example, you can target US visitors to your AdSense-based website, while the rest of the world goes to some shortened-AdFly link of yours

Let's see if there are any more features to point out

As a premium user, you can control your AdSense ads, by turning one off and turn another one one just by clicking ON/OFF switches. You'll get a WordPress website which you can manage completely using a very easy mode

So your AdSense ads' CPC will remain high, and your CTR will remain low in order to keep the AdSense account safe and more profitable

This feature is based on a smart way to increase likes to your Facebook page, and more social networks will be added in the near future

Unlike Social Media Exchange websites, people with their real accounts will like or subscribe, not fake accounts

The last one is USER MANAGEMENT

You can invite people you know who will sign up to NS System and work under your supervision

You can approve/disapprove users, see if they're online or not, when their last activity was, and how many URLs they've created in total

You choose to pay those users any way you want. For example, for each 1500 visitors, each user will get $1

You get a table of all your users, how many visits they're responsible for and how much they made in cash

If you hover over these blinking texts, you'll find that this button here is a monthly subscription ($4.99/month recurring payment)

These are the one-time-only payments, assuming you don't want to send a payment automatically each time, and the more months you buy, the bigger the discount

I think this is pretty much it

Consider hovering over every white question mark inside the blue circle next to each entry in the system for an explanation The rest of the video does not require clarification for it is already written in English. Good luck, and happy links sharing!
