My 4 Rules Of Thumb To IELTS | Random #3 - IELTS | Giang - Duration: 4:37.
To continue the ielts series, i don't know about you guys but they me, Ielts is ultimately
a test.
That means there are rules and guidelines for how people are gonna grade your performance.
You might find that some of your friends who might not speak English as well as you do
score better at the IELTS.
That might be because they are better at playing by the IELTS rules.
I think the pinnacle to acing the IELTS test could be boiled down to not being an idiot.
Well, you can be an idiot by chance, that happens, we're only humans.
But don't be an idiot by choice.
That means you should be prepared and know exactly what you're getting yourself into,
what the IELTS test is all about.
So to demonstrate, let me share with you my personal take on the 4 rules of thumb to the
4 tasks of the IELTS.
rule of thumb to listening: anticipation, anticipation, anticipation.
You'll be given 4 periods of time to preview your questions in respect to the 4 sections
of the audio.
For that reason, don't try to read through the entire question sheet at once, only read
what you're about to listen to, and make guesses on the answers while doing that.
You should be prepared on what type of word would be suited to fill in the blank.
Is it a noun?
A verb?
A number?
You can even be rogue and take a wild guess on what the precise answer could be.
The plot twist to reading: it's chronological, y'all.
The nice thing about listening and reading in IELTS is that most of the questions are
organized in the same order with the texts.
Therefore, again, don't read the whole thing before you answer.
What I do: read the 1st question, the answer should be somewhere within the 1st paragraph.
Move on to the 2nd question, repeat the process.
Of course, this technique doesn't apply to all question types.
For some exercises, maybe around 20%, such as match the text to the title, you'd have
to actually read the whole thing before answering.
However, for the remaining 80%, it's really important not to waste time.
The key to writing: be structural.
let's be real, ielts writing is highly time-constrained.
You only have 20 min to describe some boring charts, and 40 min trying to win an argument
with some IELTS folks you'll never meet.
In order to save time, I think you should have a very clear picture on what your essays
should look like so that you don't have to think about it while writing.
when i think of writing task 2, I have a picture of my essay in my head, there should be 1
sentence for introduction, 1 for conclusion, 2 paragraphs in between for 2 opposing arguments.
Each paragraph should consist of 1 statement sentence, 1 justification and 1-2 examples.
I believe that IELTS writing takes no creative geniuses, it's a logical game, where you
try to put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
IELTS speaking: they don't care about us.
If you really think about it, you'll find the questions in the speaking part of the
IELTS rather personal and intrusive.
Why should I tell you about the most influential person in my life?
I don't even know you.
The key understanding here is that the examiner is there to test how fluent you're able
to speak English, not to listen to your life story.
So feel free to pour your hearts out or lie through your teeth for all I care, it really
doesn't matter.
Whatever makes it easier for you to maintain fluid conversation through their rapid-fire
questioning.
I think that is most important in this test.

I did a lot of hillwalking in my early twenties,
then I damaged my back in a sporting injury,
that cut down my walking quite a bit.
It got to the point in my 30's where
it was really impacting my life
so I decided to go for an operation
about five years ago now,
so a lower disk replacement surgery.
After I had that surgery I got into
walking for therapy,
and I just kept going
and got so into it again.
Because I've been so enjoying my walking again
I decided to take a career change last year,
to try and spend more time outdoors
and with my family.
So I started up Hillgoers this year,
which is a hill walking guiding buisness,
designed to get all abilities
and all people back into the hills again,
enjoying the outdoors.
It's a new buisness, so I don't know how it's going to go,
but I'm going to enjoy giving it a go next year
and try and get as many people out as possible.
So Hillgoers will go anywhere in Scotland,
but we're based in Royal Deeside.
Which is where we are just now.
It's a beautiful area right where all the royal
family come for the holidays.
So I'm more into taking my time on my walks,
pointing out points of interest and
talking about flora or fauna.
I don't like marching people uphill.
I'd prefer people to enjoy themselves.
Well not long after I had my op I started looking online
for how I could plan my routes, so I
downloaded ViewRanger onto my phone.
I've been using it for about four years now.
Initially it was just checking
the best places to go and routes,
and then I got into the habit of actually-
because I wanted to extend my duration and
the length of my walks -
I would use the tracking device on it and
track where I went that day.
It's like a map in my pocket so if
I'm on the bus or picking up the kids from school
I can just pull it out and say
"well this this looks interesting I'll go there next week."
With the new addition of Skyline it's quite handy,
as I used to get the map out and say,
"yeah that's that hill, that's that hill",
but now you get Skyline out and put that up.
Usually you only focus on the big hills
like the Loch Migar around here or the
Broad Cairn behind the back of this building,
but it also picks up all the little smaller hills
which normally would just go unnoticed and you say
"ah that's the name of that hill"
and it makes it all fit in.
I think I just love the outside you know?
I worked in Aberdeen and offshore for quite a long time,
and so I decided I'd had enough of working in an office
and I want to work outside,
get a little bit of wildlife and culture,
and see a bit of scenery for a change,
get outside.
While I'm still fit enough to do it.
Hopefully for another 30 years.

About 30 thousand laundries in the United States generate more than $3 billion in annual revenue. However, none of the owners has more than 200 laundries. Not so long ago American Patrick Clifton decided to start a business associated with the launderette. He created a company to provide this service and now I am confident I have found the "gold mine". In his opinion, laundromats in the United States is clearly not able to satisfy the growing needs of the population. Choosing laundries, Clifton deliberately stopped at the business where others had no luck. V-Commandos - video review - Duration: 9:17.
Hi everybody and welcome to this new video review of a board game. Today it's not a uniform or airsoft gun video review, it's a game, created by Thibaud de la Touanne, from Triton Noir. (distributed in France by Morning)
What's the game's principle? The game V-Commandos is a stealth game. As his name indicate, you'll play as commandos. You'll have 5 different characters available, in the main box. Add-ons will be available later.
All the characters will have their own capacities, to use on each terrain. Invite your friend to join you, the game can be in solo mode, but also in multiplayers. We can play with 4 players.
The goal is to be a character, to bring him from a point A to a point C, passing by the point B, which is the objective to reach, while being as stealthy as possible.
I'll do a quick overview on the game, but in the next months, you'll can discover the game in situation with friends.
In the box, we'll can find Tiles of different sizes: little, medium and large. Each size will have its own caracteristics. We have characters cards, events cards, we have 12 dices, customized with an eye for the 1 and 2.
We have many enemies, with a few enemies as elite units. We have characters to escort. We have +1/-1 tokens (actions to keep, or injury system), and we have equipment tokens.
Equipment placed on the board when you kill germans. When you eliminate a german, you replace the token by an equipment token, which can be double edged.
Because in the equipement tokens, there are tokens with an eye, which show you've been spotted.
We have many operation cards, with the historical context, the place and date of the real operation. At the back, special rules for each terrain (for the difficulty). And at last, we have the configuration of the terrains.
Here we have "battleship" and "Central tower", which correspond to these maps. Once the goal of the first terrain are completed and at least one commando is still alive, you can go on the second terrain.
It's to know there always are enemies on triangle tokens. So at the beginning, there will be enemies from the beginning.
How a game turn takes place? Firstly, you'll draw an event card. We have a lot of events, with an action to do by commandos, or by the enemies. Sometimes you'll have 2 differents states: Alarm activated or silent alarm.
And below you'll see the direction of the enemies when it will be their move step.
The first commando will move accross a trap (one action spent).
What's this system of actions? Each player have 3 actions to do on each game turn. Each time your character is hit by a shoot, he loses one action. 2nd shoot: 2nd action lost. When he loses his 3 actions, he's in critical mode.
You'll use the special token for this state. Now you have one game turn to save him, or he will die.
So theses actions can be used to ... make actions! Move on a little tile: 1 action. Move on medium tile : one action and you'll become visible, or 2 actions to move stealthy. Move on a large tile automatically make you visible, so it will be 1 action.
After there are different pipes to go accross a large tile without being spotted, like the german uniform, available in equipement tokens.
Once all your commandos has moved, so we passe to the enemies' moves step. So you'll move the enemy in function of the move of the event card, and they'll attack your visible commandos within range.
Here, the move is to the south, so all the enemies will move to the south, except if one commando is visible, so the enemies will move to get closer to him.
Be careful, it you are not visible on a tile with a spotted friend, you'll never be hit, because you're invisible. Your friend will take all the damages! Hence the interest of staying stealthy.
So the goal is to reach all the objectives and having at least 1 commando alive, to make pass accross one of the trap provided for this purpose. There are 2 versions of traps: opened and closed. It's closed? So spend one action to open it.
When all the enemies are used, you lose the game. Because you've been submerged.
How to stay stealthy? First action : Use sound weapons as little as possible. For example, there are 2 versions of the Sten : with and without silencer.
It's the first mean : use quiet weapons. When you use MG42, you're spotted, it's logic!
Second way : when you come on a tile with an enemy (or the enemy comes to you), the stealth check is negative. So you stay stealthy if you don't get the 1 or the 2 of the dice. If you get 1 or 2, you're spotted and the enemy will attack you.
The third way to stay stealthy is to not take a "visible" token. But it's just depending of your luck, or not!
There are many ways to become stealthy again, like the german uniform, or to come on a little tile, where you can be easilier hidden.
How does the fighting take place, when you're in contact with an enemy ?
First, you'll engage one enemy. If there are several enemies on the same tile, you can engage them all. If there are several enemis on several tiles, you have to spend 2 actions to attack them.
If the enemies are on an adjacent tile : outdoor, or indoor with an opened door.
After, you roll the number of dices indicated by the number of the white squares on the token of the used weapon.
Thompson : 2 dices. Sten : 2 dices. MP40 : 2 dices. STG44 : 3 dices. MG42 : 4 dices.
You roll and after you have to refer to the number on the tile where are the enemies. For a little tile : 4+. So all the dices <= 4 hit. For a large tile, it's harder to hide, but it's easier to hit. So it's 2+.
Other equipment can be used, like the TNT, which will destroy all on a tile. The crowbar can be used to open or lock a door. When you lock an enemy truck, you'll prevent enemies to come on the terrain.
But when you reach 4 enemies, because they will continue to come with each turn. When 4 enemies are waiting to enter, they break the crowbar, and 4 enemies will be on the terrain.

Today we are back for the unboxing of the PG4RS from Cross-RC
This box is the same for PG4R ans PG4RS
the difference between these 2 models here

PG4R is 1.9 with smaller shocks
PG4RS has a bumper, is 2.2 and bigger shocks
You will see the tires are oversized

compared to this model

windows masks for the body
Here a basic stickers sheet
with some decals for the doore
windows, front face and lateral deco
I think you can put lights under the stickers, it makes a good effect
they are a bit translucent
It can be very nice

It's an assembly kit
It's a classical crawler
Rail chassis with the a central plate with transmission
PG4RS has a classical 1 speed transmission
It's a bit complicated at Cross-RC
there is 5 or 6 different PG4
ABS body, Laxan body
twin wheels on the rear
long wheelbase
there is a 2 speed transmission model
this one, the PG4RS is a 1 speed
So, you have the rest of the assembly

So what's in the box
we have here the body
lexan body, very massive
there is some work and some possibilities
to upgrade it with styrene or 3D printed parts
the body is nice
just here, we don't know if it's good or if it's a default
It's not fantastic
the rest of the body is nice
Next we have the tires
the tires are oversized, they do nearly 15cm
I think they are 135mm with 2.2 rims
they are very soft, really good
the ring is already in the wheel
no problem to install the ring, just install the outside
those are FATMAN 2.2
very big, 135mm
the have a good weight, the ring is heavy

the second set of tires
we have here the transmission
Like I said you, it's a 1 speed transmission
the 27T brushed motor is already installed
we will probably change it (there is a small plastic bearing with)
we will replace it with a 35 to 55T motor
we will see with the 27T first
the base is plastic
it must be upgradable in aluminium
so that was the transmission
27T brushed motor, it's the only electronic part you have with the chassis
No ESC no servo
just the motor
you have here grease and 300 shock oil
about the shocks
the body is plastic, and long springs
It seems to be already an upgrade
compared to PG4R
but it's still plastic
we will see how they will react
but we will maybe put some aluminium ones
here we have axles
also in plastic
all is molded,in rigid plastic
we will also see in use

The ABS body is really nics also
here we have rims, 2.2 steel 3 parts wheels
the classical steel rim

it looks really nice

with the 12mm hex adapter, you install it on the rim
it comes on the shaft axle
the chassis uses bearings
we have here bearings, and the steel transmission
or in a mix of aluminium
you have here aluminium links
the upper links are Y ones
the 2 lower links are parallel
the upper link is Y like on some SCX10
you also have all the screws
some nuts ans bolts
you have all the transmission inside
we have here balls and ball ends for shocks
the same for the links
here the battery case
with the shafts, let's have a look
they are also in plastic
All is in plastic, it's possible to upgrade them, but I don't know if there is a lot of upgrades
we will see what's possible to adapt on it
Probably the VOODOO shafts from BOOM Racing will work
you have an electronic box
some parts for the body are in ABS
mirrors to paint
also to paint, front and rear bumpers
we have here shafts cover
it's usually painted in red or chrome
and here the shock and body supports
here the rail chassis
in steel, the same style than Axial
It's also a 313mm wheelbase
the same wheelbase than honcho from Axial for example
we install the rim part, you see it's really really nice
the rim is really beautiful
there is something to do with and with the body
you see the tires are 130+ mm
really big wheels
to remember, the body, a pick up, really nice
we can do the front in styren
maybe a light bar on the roof
or cover the rear
in all case it will be great, the tires are really massive
the machine will be really imposing
