tagging your YouTube videos maybe one of the most crucial things to getting views

process and today we're gonna be talking about how you can get more YouTube views
through tagging your videos better but if you're not already subscribed to the

so tagging is one of the most important things in YouTube and the reason because
this is they take it as your SEO and your keywords and all that as what is
gonna be searched so they can show the most relevant videos it may surprise
people but when you're searching for something relevancy is actually the
thing that matters most not how many views you have how many likes you have
how many subscribers you have it's relevancy and when that's the case you
want to pick out the best keyword phrase for your YouTube video for instance this
video is titled how to tag your YouTube videos to get more views that's a very
specific keyword phrase that I chose because it's something that lots of
people are actually searching that there's not many videos for that so if
you go searching for that phrase there's not many people that are using that
exact keyword phrase that's a great way for me to get a great relevancy score in
search so what I'm gonna do is take that keyword phrase stick it into my title
put it as the first thing in my description and then make it my first
tag so what I would say is your first thing you have to do when tacky is pick
out a great keyword phrase the second thing I would do when tagging is to find
similar phrases like your main keyword phrase and use them also as your tag for
instance the keyword phrase is how to tag your YouTube videos to get more
views so I could do something like how to tag your videos to increase
viewership or how to tag your videos or how to tag YouTube videos to get views
and subscribers see lots of similar stuff like that where I'm gonna use
those as tags and it's very very similar to what I've already said and that's
sort of the point you want to get your keyword phrase and then just lots of
similar things like that and two things that can really help you here is the
extension tube buddy that you can get for Chrome I'll leave a link to it in
the description below or you can go to to buddy comm slash Devon Street and you
can download this and it's very very helpful it helps you with suggesting
tags to you telling you how that tags performing things like that and then
your second tool you're gonna want to use is actually just the YouTube search
bar type in something like how to get YouTube views or how to tag your YouTube
video and then I'm gonna find tons of things below it that are suggested that
are very similar to what I'm searching and lots of people don't know this but
you can actually use an underscore in any part of your phrase that you're
searching in YouTube and it gives you similar items that aren't exactly your
phrasing but it's got those keywords you're actually searching for in there
so while this is something that's really hard to just go ahead and straight-up
explain I'm now going to go ahead and jump to the computer and show you
exactly what I'm talking about okay so this is one of my more recent videos
it's called how to get a intro and outro for YouTube on phone so as you can see
right here this is my main title and then I put this right here in the
description and it's also the first phrase for see right here you see this
one is ranking 7th and that's because it's the same exact
keyword phrase on all these and so actually if we go search this on YouTube
it's going to be the seventh video in the search and that's because of high
relevancy now if it hits a little bit more watch time it's only at 122 views
then maybe it could even be ranking higher because watch time is still going
to play a factor but tagging your videos and relevancy is also a really important
thing so as you can see this is my main keyword phrase right here but I have
very similar stuff to it like how to get a intro for YouTube on phone how to get
an outro for YouTube on phone how to get a intro for YouTube how to get a natural
for YouTube how to make a intro for YouTube videos on phone how to make an
outro video for YouTube on phones how to make a youtube intro on Android and I
make it YouTube intros for free how to make a youtube intro on phone and how to
make a youtube video outro on phone so as you can see almost every single one
of those I was saying the exact same works just in a different phrasing and
this is a good example of how you really need to tag your videos and it's a
really good way and now I'm going to show you one more video for another
example so this video is actually from a really long time ago it's one of my
first ever videos but it's one of my videos that has done the best almost
2,000 views it's right now my most popular video on the channel and it's
consumer market vs. industrial market as you can see it's once again the first
thing I put in the description and it is the first tag and this one it is ranking
for a lot of things it's ranking number one for consumer market versus
industrial market industrial and consumer consumer market industrial
market industrial marketing consumer marketing consumer market examples
consumer market segmentation industrial market examples
and industrial market segmentation so it's ranking most of these one or two
and then four six and fifteen so as you can see these are really great tags and
you look at the other ones and actually I'm thinking about removing most of
these because I have not come back to this video in a really long time and
actually these tags could be boosted if it wasn't for these tags you do not have
to fill up all the way to that five hundred mark on your tags just do the
ones that are important because the more tags you have the least important each
one is so like introduction to marketing not really what we're talking about
business very broad doesn't need to be in there marketing doesn't need to be in
there micro and macro marketing environment does not need to be in there
companies that use micro marketing see like all of these do not belong they
don't have to do with industrial and consumer marketing the one thing I'm
talking about in the title and the description for my keyword phrase so I'm
expecting these tags now actually to go up in ranking mostly because of of
course now they matter more and this is once again my most popular video on the
channel so I would say that this is probably going to go way up in SEO and
this is definitely the way to tag your video do not put those unimportant tags
that don't relate to your keyword phrase and those were just some good examples
of how you really want to tag and those were just some good examples but one
thing that I didn't show you in that example was that in neither of those
videos I had my name and that's what I do in most of my videos as I put Devon
Street as a tag and the reason you're going to want to do this with your name
is because usually no one else is going to be using your name as a tag so you're
gonna get a lot more likelihood of getting your other videos suggested on
the suggested videos bar on the side or if you're on mobile below the video so
if you can connect each one of your videos better then you're probably going
to get a longer watch time session more views more watch time and just
all-around more growth for your channel so I definitely recommend that and
that's it that's basically how you want to properly tag your YouTube videos to
