Logan Paul Gives First Interview Since Suicide Forest Video Backlash: "I Am a Good Guy Who Made - Duration: 3:30.

Logan Paul Gives First Interview Since Suicide Forest Video Backlash: "I Am a Good Guy Who Made a Bad Decision"

In a pre-taped interview that aired Thursday, Good Morning Americas Michael Strahan interviewed YouTube star Logan Paul for the first time since his Suicide Forest video went viral for all the wrong reasons.

Last month, Paul published content that showed the body of a suicide victim in Japan. Paul, who reaches 16 million YouTube subscribers, told Strahan, Its been tough, cause ironically, Im being told to commit suicide myself.

Millions of people literally telling me they hate me, to go die in a fire. Like, the most horrible, horrific things. So, you dont think the criticism is fair? Strahan asked.

Thats the thing, Paul said. I do. Initially, Paul explained, The idea was just to do another fun vlog, go camp for a night and make an entertaining piece of content in a forest.

And, uh, things obviously.changed pretty drastically and quickly. Paul admitted he was startled when he and his friends stumbled upon the mans body—even though he filmed it, edited the footage and later uploaded it.

He was 100 yards away from the parking lot. It just.it doesnt make any sense, he said.

And I believe it happened for a reason and I think that reason is so I could take this experience, learn from it, spread the message the right way about suicide prevention and suicide prevention awareness..

Paul admitted that he wanted to shock viewers with the footage, and get people talking about something that I dont think people are talking about much.

Still, thats the goal today. Given his young fan base, Strahan argued, Paul should have known better than to publish a video that was so insensitive and offensive.

In response, Paul said that young YouTube users arent who hes trying to reach. Its odd, because, Michael, Im 22 years old. Its not like Im making content necessarily for kids. Sometimes I make inappropriate jokes.

I want to make jokes that kids my age are going to like. Im my own demographic, he replied.

And I will say, Im much more aware of the impact that my actions have on myself and others. Im going to be honest with you, Michael: I think parents should be monitoring what their children are watching more.

Every parent I meet whose kids are under the age of 12, I go, Hey, you let your kids watch my stuff? And they go, Yeah.

What am I going to do? But at the same time, its not like I am a bad guy, Paul continued. I am a good guy who made a bad decision..

Google Preferred dropped Paul in response to the backlash. I understand that they needed to take a stance, and while I dont necessarily maybe agree with it, I do respect it.

I do respect it, Paul said. Asked how that has affected his bottom line, Paul said, Um.Wanna know the real answer? It hurts, but its not like Im drowning.

I dont.I try not to live my life thinking about money, cause money doesnt make me happy. Creating and making other people happy makes me happy.

Creating content to make people smile and laugh, thats what makes me happy. Paul said hes been educating himself on suicide prevention in light of the controversy.

One of the things Im learning, which actually pertains to me, is crisis passes. For anyone suffering, I think its important to know that.

Like, you are not alone, he said. For me, why I say that its important for me, is cause, like, dude this has been, to be honest with you, the hardest time of my life.

Ive never been hated by the whole world. Its been something to definitely overcome. I will think twice in the future about what I post. Probably three times. The popular YouTube personality hopes that in time, he will be given forgiveness.

I dont think everyone should get a second chance. Some people do horrible things, Paul said. This was a horrible lapse in judgment, and I can, will and am going to learn from it and be a better person..

World Readaloud Day 2018 video, Brooklyn Middle School (MN) - Duration: 2:45.

Hey, everybody, Happy World Read-Aloud Day! We are Brooklyn Middle School in

Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and today we are sharing a copy of "Life Doesn't Frighten Me,"

a poem by Maya Angelou, with illustrations in this version by

Jean-Michel Basquiat. We hope you like it! We have a variety of staff people and

administrators who are reading today, because we all know reading aloud is

really important for a lot of different reasons. Enjoy!

Shadows on the wall,

noises down the hall. Life doesn't frighten me at all.

Bad dogs barking loud,

big ghosts in a cloud. Life doesn't frighten me at all.

Mean old Mother Goose

lions on the loose they don't frighten me at all

Dragons breathing flame on my counterpane: that doesn't frighten me at all.

I go boo; make them shoo.

I make fun, 'way they run. I won't cry, so they fly.

I just smile, they go wild. Life doesn't frighten me at all.

Tough guys fight all alone at night.

Life doesn't frighten me at all.

Panthers in the park, strangers in the dark.

No, they don't frighten me at all.

That new classroom where boys all pull

my hair, Kissy little girls with their hair in curls. They don't frighten me at all.

Don't show me frogs and snakes and listen for my scream. If I'm afraid at all,

It's only in my dreams.

I've got a magic charm that I keep up my sleeve. I can walk the ocean floor

and never have to breathe.

Life doesn't frighten me at all. Not at all, not at all.

Life? Life doesn't frighten me at all.

How To Work With A Video Editor TexasTasker com - Duration: 12:30.

Have you ever thought about working with a video editor? If you're curious on how

a video editor can help you, stay tuned we'll be going to that today.

Tip number one. Breathe.

Now the reason I say breathe ,is if you've ever edited your own video, a lot

of times you're really excited about what you're talking about

and about what you're saying. And you forget to take a breath. Well when you

get into editing, you'll notice that if you want to cut something out, you have

trouble finding a stop point. A place where you can make a cut and remove the

piece that you no longer want in your video. And that's the same if you're

working with an editor. You need to make sure that you give calculated breaks

between what you're saying, just in case you mess up. I may say today at 5:00 and

it's supposed to be today at 4:00. So make sure that between what you're

saying you take an audible pause. You take an audible breath. That way, if you

do have to fix any mistakes in your video, or if you do want to, say you're

doing a long video hour hour and a half, and you want to go back later and cut it

up and make it into smaller videos, you take breaths every now and then, take a

pause, no matter how excited you are. So that you can make those cuts without

having any problem. Tip number two. You can talk to the editor while filming.

An editor is going to be looking through your video. Going through a whole bunch

of it. And if you make a mistake, and you want a piece cut out, this doesn't work

for livestream, this only works if you're recording a video. If you're recording a

video, and you just messed up something, and you know you're gonna want to cut

out, you can go ahead and make a loud noise say a clap a snap. You know,

something that makes the audio jump so that they can see it. And say hey can you

make sure to cut that part out right there. Or maybe you want a graphic put in

at that point showing about what you're talking about.

A video editor can you can talk to them and say hey can you put in a graphic

right here I want this graphic going over this next part that I say. Or hey

this is where we're going to insert the ad. And as you're as you're doing your

your video recording you can actually talk to your editor and tell them things

that come to mind as you're doing that. And the best way to get their attention

and get them to focus on that is to make some kind of loud audible noise like a

clap. Or something that makes the audio jump so that they can see that. A lot of

people who have done a lot of video before are very accustomed to this. Even,

I've worked with a few people that I didn't even get a chance to talk to them

about that and they already had done that. they put a clap or a snap or aloud

ping. Something in their video that made the audio jump. So that you went in

and went hey why is that audio jumping? And that's when they put in some kind of

instruction. Tip number three. Know what you want.

A lot of times when you're working with a video editor you may already know what

you want, or you may not have any idea. The nice thing about video editors is

there a creative. Just like somebody that does your branding, somebody that makes

graphics for you. If you don't really have an idea what you want, make sure to

spend time talking it over with your video editor. Make sure that you you're

on the same page about what you want. Because you can give your video to

somebody and say hey I just want us to cut up into this. Unless you're really

clear about where you want the cuts made, they're going to use their own best

judgment. And that's fine if you have a video editor that you work with. And you

trust their judgement. Then and you have a similar relationship that similar

style. That's great because you can just hand it over to them. They already know

your style just like a copywriter would. They already know how to cut it best for

you. But until you build up that relationship with a video editor. You may

want to go in and communicate very clearly what you're looking for. If

you're looking to turn an hour-long video into five-minute videos, that's

fine. If you're looking for it to cut, maybe

you were doing 10 tips. And you want each tip in a different video, that's fine. But

you need to communicate that with your video editor. Until you understand them,

and until they understand your style, you're going to need to make it very

clear. Otherwise they could work for hours, and then you're gonna get the

product, it's not going to be like you want it

you're gonna want revisions done. and that's gonna cost extra.

Most video editors will do a revision. But to expect them to go back if they've

already worked 30 hours on your video. To expect them to go back and change

everything to something different, is unreasonable for the video editor. And

it could have been resolved in the first place by being very clear in your

communication. and expressing exactly what you're looking for out of this. Tip

number four. Be realistic on your expectations. The industry standard for

video editing is for every one minute of video it's one hour of time. And no it

doesn't take you an hour to edit a minute of video. But once you start

including the time it takes for them to download it to their system. That takes

just as long to upload it a lot of times into a editing program. And if they're

doing several clips, they have to upload each of those clips, and download each of

those clips back again. And then they have to upload it back to you. Either via

Dropbox, via teachable, via YouTube, via Vimeo. No matter what platforms, there's a

lot of download time. Also they will want to watch the video through one time. And

kind of take notes to figure out where they need to make the cuts, so that they

have it and put timestamps on it. And then the second time they're going

through it, they're stopping and starting and stopping a starting. So a five-minute

video could actually easily turn into a five hour project once you add all those

factors in. Also if you're wanting color correction done, if you're wanting, you

know, an overlay made for it, like the one I have up in the corner. If you're

wanting any of the special stuff done to it, any special effects, it takes time. So

like I said, the industry standard is one minute of video equals one hour. Now I

personally work with live video. And so I don't want to cut it a lot. I clean it up

some. But I basically want to leave it intact so it's more natural. So my time

actually is a bit shorter than the industry standard. It takes me a little

less time because I'm trying to keep the quality of the video basically the same

as it is. Just with a little cleanup. And so make sure that you are realistic

on your times. If you have an hour-long video, and you want it back in three days,

it's not going to happen without them staying up all night. And then you're

also not giving, you're not giving space for technical corrections. Because if

your internet is down, if the video didn't upload or download properly, if

the file got corrupted, you know if your mic went out, if your video software went

out. Any of that takes time. And so you have to allow for that time. Tip number

five. Make sure you mesh. And what I mean by this is find a video editor that gets

you. Someone that understands you. Just like a copywriter. You wouldn't hire a

copywriter that was goofball and silly if you were very serious and somber. You

want to find somebody that matches your style. Somebody that gets you. It will

make working with that video editor so much easier. Because they will be able,

just knowing you have a similar personality, they'll be able to cut in

the exact places that you would want. They'd be able to apply the same type of

graphics and go with you. So make sure that you find someone that gets you.

They've taken a look at your website, they take a look at your branding, they

understand your voice. Because your videos basically represent your company.

So just to round it up here. Number one was breathe. Make sure that you take a

breath, to pause, when you're filming. If you can do it in live stream also, that

can be so helpful. And if you just want to see what I mean, go back with one of

your live streams, and try to stop your live stream at a point where you would

normally want a clip. And see if you took a breath. A lot of people will use words

like and. so umm. And you can learn how to not put those in. They teach you it that in

groups like Toastmasters. But those things right there, those and you feel

like you need to fill that space. You don't.

Take a breath, breathe. It gives a great point where you can cut just in case you

mess something up. Number two was you can talk to the

editor while filming. If you have something come in your mind, oh I want to

picture put in here, make sure to put this picture in here, I'm sending it to

you. Fine, put that in there. And you can only do that when you're recording a

video. Not when you're doing live. Because if you're doing that live, that might

sound a little weird to your audience who's watching live. Oh

video editor put a picture in here. Yeah don't do that. Okay? But anyway. Number

three, know what you want. Have an idea of what you want to accomplish. Is this

going to be a class? Is this going to be uploaded a teachable? Is this going to be

uploaded to YouTube? Is this going to be for marketing? You know, have an idea of

what you want. Have an idea of a style you want. If you want a certain feel, a

certain look, a certain mood. If you want particular music with it, have those

things already in mind. And make sure to write that all down. Because your video

editor needs to know that. And the more you communicate what you want to your

video editor, the less chance that you'll have to do

revisions. And you'll end up saving them time and saving you money. Number four

was be realistic on your expectations. The industry standard is one minute of

video equals one hour of video editing time. And that's just the industry

standard. It does vary depending on what you're doing. But be realistic on your

expectations. If you want something done in a hurry, it's not going to be good.

It's not gonna, and a lot of people do not like doing that. They do not like

rushing through their work. They do not like being pushed to crank something out

really fast. That's where number five, make sure you

mesh, is very important. If you have a video editor that's hustle, and you're

more relaxed, and you're not getting the videos over to them quick enough, and

they feel the deadline and they want to hustle it out. You need to make sure that

you have the same work ethic as your video editor. If they are more relaxed

and you're all about hustle and rush, you need to find a video editor that is

good with that. And that was some tips today on how to work with a video editor.

it a thumbs up. And any questions, drop a comment down below. I'd be glad to answer

them. thanks for watching. If you found this video helpful, be sure and give us a
