AMANDA FREITAG: Yeah, you're leaving

out the most important part.

AMANDA FREITAG: Is there wine in there?

ALEX GUARNASCHELLI: There's champagne vinegar.

And you don't feel any sour cream here at all.

But you taste richness.

MARC MURPHY: The nice thing about this, Alex,

is that I am not reading TV dinner here.

I mean, I know the ingredients are in there

and you used quite a bit of them.

But I'm not tasting TV dinner, which I'm very happy about.

Nope.

AMANDA FREITAG: This is the thing

that sometimes I think the chefs who compete here

are afraid to do.

Just go right at it.

Look at it.

There's a mushroom.

Stuff it.

And that is so good.

I mean, who-- if we were sitting there, eating that,

who would not love that?

OK, Chef Marc, what do we have?

MARC MURPHY: Well, I made a spinach and pea soup.

And then I cooked the mushrooms and with a little cognac.

AMANDA FREITAG: Wow.

I thickened it up, also, with the sour cream.

TED ALLEN: So it's a hearty soup?

MARC MURPHY: It's a hearty soup. TED ALLEN: Wow.

AMANDA FREITAG: I want to get in there.

-Get in. -She wants to get in there.

I love the presentation.

Can we talk about the mushrooms a little bit?

Because you really, to me, you transformed them.

They almost feel like a turnip or a potato.

MARC MURPHY: I just cooked them with olive oil

and salt and pepper and then deglazed with the cognac.

AMANDA FREITAG: So good.

Mushrooms absorbed a lot of flavor,

which I love to get in there. -You get it.

Yeah, you really get it.

You kind of breathe the cognac at the end.

AMANDA FREITAG: Yeah, I like that.

It's really finessed with that finish of cognac.

Well, thank you.

Amanda, look at that.

What do you got?

You know, I too was inspired by retro dishes.

And I came with a mushroom spinach spanikopita.

MARC MURPHY: Mm.

ALEX GUARNASCHELLI: Mm.

So there's feta cheese.

There's spinach.

There's mushrooms, shallot.

And that phyllo I wanted to use because nobody

ever really uses it.

Especially nobody ever uses phyllo in the appetizer round,

which I thought was bold.

Ready?

ALL: Ooh.

AMANDA FREITAG: Yes.

TED ALLEN: Nice.

You've got to do it with authority, Marc.

MARC MURPHY: It's all about that sauce on the bottom, right?

AMANDA FREITAG: I wanted you to taste the mushroom.

I wanted you to be able to taste it.

There's peas in that filling as well, herbs.

So good.

AMANDA FREITAG: I hope you guy liked it.

I mean, I was-- -It was delicious.

AMANDA FREITAG: Because there was so many ingredients.

MQTT OpenHAB ESP8266 Door / Window Sensor: Software (Using MAC) - Duration: 11:18.

Hey guys Matt here from MKSmartHouse.com and in this video I am going to show you how to

setup the software for the door sensor using a MAC.

[Intro]

So in the last video we left off with the door sensor being fully built so all it needs

is firmware and to be connected to the home automation server.

So let's start off with the firmware.

I recommend having my website open up so that way you have all the steps and commands ready,

and so you do not have to type in everything you can just copy and paste.

I know this is the software video but, there are some hardware things that we need besides

a computer.

We are going to need an arduino of some kind preferably a UNO or a MEGA equivalent with

its usb cable of course and male to male dupont jumper cables.

Links to these items will be in the description or on the website.

The first thing we are going to do is grab the arduino and put a jumper cable from RES

to GND.

Then grab the door sensor and connect all the pins to their corresponding spots so,

TX to TX, RX to RX, GND to GND, and 5V to 5V.

Before we continue, check to make sure the 2 pin jumper is above PGM.

Next we are going to go to the computer and go to the Arduino website https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software

scroll down to download the Arduino IDE, and click Mac OSX, then press download.

Next, go to finder and your downloads folder.

Drag the Arduino Application to your applications folder.

Then click on launchpad and then on the arduino application.

When it asks if you want to open click open.

Great we installed the arduino IDE, so now plug in your arduino.

If you are using a chinese uno like me there is one more thing we have to do which is install

the CH430 drivers.

So go to http://blog.sengotta.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/CH341SER_MAC-1.4.zip and it should automatically download the driver.

Then go to finder and your downloads folder.

Open the folder and double click on the CH43x_Install package.

Go through the setup by clicking Continue, then install and type in your admin password

and press install software as well as clicking continue installation.

Once it is done click restart and if it asks you can say move to trash.

When your computer is back up, open up the arduino IDE again.

To confirm your arduino is connected in the top bar go to Tools and if you hover over

Port: you should see /dev/cu.wchusbserialXXXXX if you can then select it.

Now we are going to add the ESP8266 boards so go to Arduino, then preferences and in

Additional Boards Manager URLs: type in http://arduino.esp8266.com/stable/package_esp8266com_index.json then press OK.

Next go to tools.

Then hover over board and to the right click Boards Manager.

In the search box type in esp8266.

It should be the first one and it should say esp8266 by esp8266 Community.

Click on it and press install.

Once it is installed press the close button.

Now, go back to Tools, hover over board and go to the right and scroll down to and click

Generic ESP8266 Module.

Next we are going to add the MQTT Library, so go to sketch and in the drop down hover

over Include Library and in the right, click on Manage Libraries.

In the search type in MQTT.

Scroll through the list to find the one that Says MQTT by Joel Gaehwiler, click on it and

press install.

Once installed click close.

Great!

All the prep work is complete.

Close out of arduino and now all we have to do is grab the code so we are going to head

over to my site, the link is in the description to the exact page and press the download MK-DoorSensor

Firmware.

On the new page press download.Then go to your finder and downloads folder and double

click on MK-DoorSensor.ino.

A pop up will come up asking if you want to put it in a folder, click OK.

It should bring up the code for the door sensor, and there are only a few things we have to

change.

The first thing is the wifi settings which are the ssid and password so change those

according to your network.

Please keep in mind that the esp8266 only works on 2.4ghz so type in your 2.4ghz wifi

ssid and password not your 5ghz.

Also when adding the information only change what is inside the quotation marks.

Next set of parameters are the Web Updater settings.

The devices I designed are great because I implemented a web user interface for each

individual device so that way if you ever have to flash new firmware you just go to

its web address.

The web address information is found at that top of the code in the giant comment block.

The first parameter is the hostname of the device, usually I only change the last digit

but since this is the first door sensor I will keep it as it is.

Next is the update path and personally I don't change that.

After that is the web user interface username and password, these are the credentials you

use to access the webpage because each device is protected.

The next set of parameters are for mqtt.

The first one is the outTopic and this is the topic for which the device sends commands

or messages to on the server.

The next one is the MQTT Server Ip address and this is simply the IP address of your

home automation or openhab server.

The last one is the Unique device ID and this simple differentiates each device on the MQTT

side, I usually just change the last digit for every single device.

That is it the code is ready to be flashed.

So go to tools and make sure the Board: is Generic ESP8266 Module and the port is /dev/cu.wchusbserialXXXX.

Once those are good press the upload button, it is the one with an arrow pointing to the

right.

When it is uploading you should see dots moving at the bottom and some percents.

After it is done uploading you should see it say 100% and Done uploading.

To confirm that it flashed correctly and is working you can fire up MQTT.fx, connect to

the server and in the subscribe section type in # and press subscribe.

Now if you separate and bring together the two contacts of the door sensor you should

see it either say OPEN or CLOSED depending on its current status.

If you do not have MQTT.fx then check out my Home Automation Server Setup Guide.

Now that we know it works let's close up the device and get it ready for use with the Automation

System.

First unplug the dupont wires in between the arduino and the device.

Then take the 2 pin jumper and move it over so it is above RUN.

After that take the lid to the device and put it on.

Finally plug the device into the wall.

Now the device is complete and just needs to be added to OpenHAB.

So ssh into your pi or whatever your server may be.

The first thing we are going to do is create the door sensor item.

So type in sudo nano /etc/openhab2/items/home.items and press enter, you may need to type in admin

password.

Then type in the comment //Security items then underneath that we are going to create

a software switch to control the security system.

Type in Switch SecuritySystem "Security System" and press enter.

Now we are going to create the actual item type in Contact MKDoorSensor1 "Door Status

[%s]" <door> { mqtt="<[broker:MK-SmartHouse/security/MK-DoorSensor1:state:default]" } and press enter.

Now let me go over the two items we created.

The first one is a dummy switch and we will implement it later more in the rules but what

it will do is turn the openHab security system on and off.

The second item is the door sensor.

This is the line you would replicate if you had more door sensors.

Anyway the first part is Contact and since this device is a door sensor we use contact

type.

The next part is the item name and I just used its hostname without the dash.

After that is the label text and it is what shows up in the interface and how it is formatted

with the name and value.

Next to that is the icon name which is what picture shows up in the interface.

Then lastly, we have the mqtt path to the device in there is the outTopic that we coded

into the device.

Now press control x then y and enter.

Next up is the sitemap file so we can see the device status and our switch.

Type in sudo nano /etc/openhab2/sitemaps/home.sitemap and press enter.

It will bring up the sitemap.

If you are following along with my series then we have many different frames in our

sitemap.

I am going to replace what is in the security frame with our new items.

So delete the demo switch and type in Switch item=SecuritySystem and press enter and line

up your cursor underneath the S in switch and type in Text item=MKDoorSensor1 what we

did is import the items into the sitemap.

Now press control x then y and enter.

Before we go any furthur lets confirm that everything works so go to your web user interface

and then Basic UI.

You should see the Security system switch which right now does not do do anything but

you should also see the the door sensor or in my case the side door and if you open and

close the contacts you should see the status change.

Great it all works except the switch so let's fix that and make the security system do something.

In terminal type in sudo nano /etc/openhab2/rules/home.rules and press enter.

In the file type in //Side Door Sensor Is Open

rule "Side Door Sensor" when

Item MKDoorSensor1 received update OPEN then

if(SecuritySystem.state == ON) {

sendBroadcastNotification("SECURITY SYSTEM: SIDE DOOR OPEN")

} End

Let me explain what this does, it checks for whenever the door sensor sends open and if

it does, then it checks for if the security system is on and if it is then it sends every

user you setup in myopenhab.org a notification.

Now press control x then y and enter.

Go back to the basic UI and make sure the Security System switch is on.

Now make the door sensor closed then open.

If everything works right and you have a mobile device setup with openhab then you should

get a notification.

Also if you turn of the switch then you will not get notifications.

That is it!

The software is complete, now all we have to do is install the device in its final place

which will be completed in the next final installation video.

MQTT OpenHAB ESP8266 Door / Window Sensor: Final Installation - Duration: 2:28.

Hey guys Matt here from MKSmartHouse.com and in this video I am going to show you how to

install the door sensor on your door.

[Intro]

First up let's go over the materials we need to install this door sensor.

For this device there are two ways to install it so what you need depends on how you install.

The first way and the way I am going to do it, is to take wall tac and put it on the

back of the device and stick it to the wall.

In this case all you need is wall tac.

The second way to install it is to take screws and screw it to the wall.

In this case you need screws and a drill and a screw driver.

Alright let's get to installing, I am doing the wall tac method because this door is not

finished so I do not know the final position of this device and do not want to make holes

right now.

The great thing about wall tac is that it does not damage walls.

Anyway the first thing we are going to do is play with the positioning of the device

and determine where we want it to go.

I was thinking about either putting it down at the bottom or at the top.

But, I decided to put it at the top.

The next thing I did is open the case and take the sensor cable and sort of rolled it

into the enclosure to make the cable shorter, then I closed the case back up.

As you can see now the wire is shorter and there is not an excess amount sticking out.

After that take off the protective paper off of the adhesive on the magnetic door sensor

and stick it in your desired location.

Now take two pieces of wall tac and stick it on the back of the door sensor control

box.

Then stick the control box to the wall.

Next peel off the protective backing off of the magnet or the other piece of the sensor

and line it up, then stick it to the door.

Great the sensor is mounted, so plug it in and test it out, see if you get a notification

on your mobile device.

Now that we confirmed it works in this location let's clean up the wire.

If your door is finished with trim then you can either lift up the trim and tuck it in

or you can just it alongside the trim.

Lucky for me the door is not finished so I lifted up the tape that was there and laid

the cable in the hole, then I put the tape back.

Great the cable is mostly hidden.

That is it, the sensor is now complete and fully installed!

New Artist Spotlight:

For Fans of:

Neck Deep, who hail from Wrexham in Wales,

formed in 2012,

and have gaining quite a lot of attention since!

the band is made up of:

Ben Barlow, Sam Bowden, Matt West, Fil Thorpe-Evans and Dani Washington

they are signed to Hopeless Records,

who have brought us a bunch of our pop punk favs

such as Yellowcard, All Time Low, With Confidence and The Wonder Years

They have performed with some massive acts like

We Are the in Crowd, Knuckle Puck, Trophy Eyes and State Champs

the band have put out two banging studio albums,

with hits such as "December (again)",

"Serpents",

"Gold Steps",

"A Part of Me",

And "Can't Kick Up The Roots"

And, according to a cheeky social media post,

they have finished recording their third album,

which is due for release this year.

The album is produced by Mike Green,

who has worked with Paramore, All Time Low and Pierce the Veil

If you can't wait for some new music from them,

Just last week Spotify released a cover album of Green Day's early years,

which Neck Deep were invited to be a part of,

performing Welcome To Paradise

They shared with fans the reason why on social media:

A lot of you may have seen us debut our version of 'Welcome To Paradise'

live on stage at the #APMAS last year

with a little help from our mate Will from Creeper,

and now you can hear a full studio version of the song,

recorded and mixed by Mike Green just last month,

as part of this rad Spotify playlist!

And they are going to be in Australia NEXT WEEK,

to open for All Time Low!

Crikey mate, we can't wait for them to tour down under,

as we are pretty sure they are going to be the NECK big thing

April Creator Updates: YouTube Partners, Google+ Topics, AdSense Policy, Custom URLs and more - Duration: 8:20.

Hello YouTubers, Plussers and Bloggers!

I'm Peggy K, and I'm going to be taking a quick look at the updates for Creators in

the Googleverse in April.

My top updates this month include changes to the YouTube Partner Program, an update

to the AdSense prohibited content policy, the launch of Google+ Topics and more.

If you would like more details, there are links in the video description.

Let's start with a nice new feature.

Last week Google+ launched Topics, a new way to explore the content on Google+.

You should see a Topics box in your Home stream.

Start exploring by clicking a topic.

There are hundreds of Google+ Topics in English, Spanish and Portuguese, covering the arts,

crafts, science, technology, history, travel, entertainment, cooking, hobbies and more.

Open a Topic and you can browse through posts, and, on the left sidebar, find related Collections

to follow and Communities to join.

And there are links to more Topics to keep exploring.

This is a great way to find people who share your interests, and to find new content to

follow.

And I think this can be a great boon to Creators, because this will help people find you based

on their interests, especially if you are posting to Collections.

Next there is a more practical update.

If your name or brand has changed, you can now remove the Custom URL from your Google+

Profile or Page, or from your YouTube channel.

That option is on the "About Me" page for the Profile, Page or Channel, in the "Sites"

box.

Once the Custom URL is removed, a new Custom URL may be offered by Google+ or YouTube,

if your profile, page or channel is eligible.

You can see new Custom URL offers on your YouTube Status and Features tab and on your

Google+ Page or Profile's profile page.

Over on YouTube, I want to start with a small, but I think significant, update that was actually

announced at the end of March.

YouTube now can automatically caption sounds such as [applause], [music], and [laughter]

in addition to speech.

It's one more improvement that will make videos even more accessible to the hearing

impaired.

The big news for Creators on YouTube was a significant change to the YouTube Partner

Program.

YouTube no longer will serve ads on monetized videos until the channel has at least 10,000

views.

YouTube also instituted a review process for Creators who apply to the YouTube Partner

Program.

The channel is set up for monetization, and once it reaches 10,000 views, it's automatically

reviewed for compliance with the YouTube Partner Program Policies and Community Guidelines.

This is amidst ongoing reports from current Partners that their earnings have dropped

significantly since last month, when a number of advertisers pulled their ads from YouTube,

and YouTube and Google implemented new advertiser controls.

YouTube has acknowledged that Partners are frustrated and said that they are "working

to address the situation".

Hopefully there will be an improvement in May.

In the meantime, YouTube is encouraging Partners to make sure their content is Advertiser Friendly

And note that it's not just YouTube that requires advertiser-friendly content for monetization.

AdSense has a similar policy, and they have recently updated their content policy to prohibit

ads specifically on "Dangerous and Derogatory Content", which includes threats, harassment,

violence, and what might be broadly be considered "hate speech":

More specifically AdSense prohibits content "promoting, glorifying or condoning violence

against others," and content "encouraging others to believe

that a person or group is inhuman, inferior or worthy of being hated,"

on the basis of their race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, nationality, veteran

status, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or other characteristic that is

associated with systemic discrimination or marginalization

And, not surprisingly, content promoting hate groups or hate group paraphernalia is also

prohibited.

Be sure to read all the AdSense Program Policies carefully, to be sure your content is in compliance..

Now there is also good news this month for YouTube Creators whose videos have been restricted

in the past.

Last month YouTube realized that there were videos being incorrectly filtered in Restricted

Mode, and they fixed that problem.

They announced: "On the engineering side, we fixed an issue

that was incorrectly filtering videos for this feature, and now 12 million additional

videos of all types -- including hundreds of thousands featuring LGBTQ+ content -- are

available in Restricted Mode" YouTube also provided more details about what

types of content might cause a video to be restricted.

And they make clear it's not just visual imagery, but the topics themselves that could

be the issue, including: Drugs and alcohol

Sex, beyond purely educational conversations Violence, even violence in the news

Mature subjects, including terrorism, war, crime, and political conflicts that resulted

in death or serious injury And profane and mature language

YouTube has pointed out previously that only about 1.5% of daily video views come from

viewers who have Restricted Mode turned on.

So if your video complies with the YouTube Community Guidelines, even if it's filtered

in Restricted Mode, it shouldn't cause that big a change in the number of views.

But keep in mind that videos that are filtered in Restricted Mode may not be considered "advertiser

friendly" and so they may not be monetized.

OK So what's been taken away this month?

The Google+ Hangouts API was retired on April 25th.

What that means is that most of the Hangouts video call apps, like Effects, Story and Soundation,

have been removed.

What remains are apps for enterprise, like Ring Central and Uber Conference.

And, of interest to you live streamers out there, in Hangouts on Air you can still use

the Cameraman and Control Room apps.

And no, this does not mean Hangouts is going away.

Finally we also said goodbye to Google Spaces.

Spaces launched just before Google I/O in May 2016.

It was designed for small group sharing.

With each "space" was accessible with a link, so it was easy to invite people.

And it was more casual than a Community.

On April 17th, Spaces shut down.

If you weren't using Spaces, why should you care?

The Spaces team announced that they would "use what they learned to improve other

Google products and services" So it will be interesting to see what comes

out of that.

So those are my top Creator updates for April.

In May is the Google I/O conference, which always brings interesting announcements and

updates.

Hi guys Long Live to all of you

my name is Alyannah, my name is Mommy Shirley

today we are going to make

my favorite Chicken Adobo

combine all the ingredients such as

chicken, apple cider vinegar

soy sauce, sugar, salt, pepper, bay leaf

garlic and mix it together

marinate this for minimum 2 hours

over high medium heat

boil the marinated Adobo for 30 minutes

add the water and boil boil boil

after 30 minutes

turn over all the chickens

cover this and boil again for 10 minutes

add the mixture of water and cornstrach

simmer this for few minutes

and now its DONE

my favorite CHICKEN ADOBO
