Hey kids! When riding your bicycle it's
important to always wear your helmet! Why?
Your helmet protects your brain, and you
need your brain! It's also important to
make sure your helmet fits properly. How
do you make sure you have a good fit?
Remember the 2-V-1 rule - make sure you get
a helmet that's the right size and fits
snugly on your head, so there's no more
than two fingers to between your brow
and the front of the helmet. Make a V
under your ears using the straps, and
tighten the clasp below your ears by
moving the clip, to make a tight V shape.
Finally, tighten the chinstrap to make
sure that no more than one finger can
fit between your chin and the strap. Use
the 2-V-1 rule to make sure your helmet
fits snuggly doesn't move around and it
stays on your head properly. Kids, talk to
your parents and friends about the 2 V 1
rule and have them help make sure your
helmet fits properly... because if it
doesn't fit properly... it's not protecting
your head properly. Biking is a great way
to be active have fun and stay healthy,
but remember kids ... always wear your
helmet!
