hello I'm gonna educate you on what
a Text Relay is everyone now uses the
NGT lite
it means
next generation text service is a
text relay/typetalk kind of thing um so I'm
making this video to educate you how it
works and why it is beneficial for us
because a lot of people don't really
understand how this work and I would
love to spread this and help everyone
else to teach them what it is, it nothing
to be afraid of it's not a cold caller
that's for sure it for either deaf person
or people have speech impairs
to make a phone call to be make us more
independent so we dont have to rely on another
person to make a phone call cos
relying on other person to make a phone call
it's a lot worse than doing via this
text relay because obviously you
actually speak directly to me and not to
like a hearing friend taking the phone
call and passing on you actually
speaking directly to me as you can see
I'm actually talking on the PC um I'm
actually talking directly to the person
that I called to is she talking directly
to me so basically if I make a phone
call to you it will connect me to the
text relay or operator
first or to you they will explain to you
or let you know that there's a deaf
person or speech impaired that making a
phone call to you that operator is just
there to interpret your voice into text
so I can actually read what you saying
because obviously I'm deaf and I can't
take the phone call because I can't hear
your voices because you know one I'm out
and about or two you're in the noisy
background and three I find reading the
text a lot easier because I can actually
save the conversation and read it through
later or I can read and repeating it and
take my time reading what you said
before I respond so I can either respond
by typing the text and the operator will
read out what I say or I can use the
other option by using the voice by me
saying something and you hear me through
the phone call like normal like a phone
to phone I will be saying something and
you can hear me over the phone if it's
not in that option most of the time I
use the keyboard so when I type the
operator will read what I say to you
so um yes it's nothing to be afraid or
be scared of it we're definitely not the
cold caller so please respect it, it is
very very frustrated at this end of our
call because we, it is really
complicated because we have to keep
trying trying trying to get through to
someone who actually understand
what the text relay is so this is what
I'm doing this video for doing this
video for is to help spread spread out
