(soft music plays)

Yeah, should be a nice batoning blade.

Nice thickness to it, probably

four or five milometers on the back.

Not too sharp on the front so it's quite a safe tool.

Still see some of that resin inside of the handle,

it's quite sticky.

(chopping)

(woman laughing)

(guide speaking in Thai)

- [Cameraman] Yeah.

(laughter)

Have a feel, have a feel.

What do you think, is it good?

- Yes, good!

- [Woman] Yeah, I like it.

- [Cameraman] Good for Bush Channel?

(laughter)

- Good.

(laughter)

- [Guide] Good for cooking.

(laughter)

Maybe watermelon.

- [Cameraman] Cutting up watermelons?

(laughter)

- This very good to cut the dry wood to.

- [Cameraman] Yes, absolutely.

(music plays)

Maybe not.

- [Woman's Voice] Not allowed in

Philippines,

- [Camera man] So, what is that Chai?

That's the ...

- This is like uh, the

- [Woman's Voice] Ant's nest.

- Ant nest.

- [Cameraman] So, this is the resin that they use.

- The red ant.

- Okay, this is the resin that they use

to glue the rat's tail tang inside the bamboo handle.

Amazing stuff.

Natural materials.

He's saying I can,

He's saying I can take it home with me but I don't

think our airport will allow this.

And there's a whole plastic bag full of this stuff.

Natural glue from the jungle.

Great alternative to using plastics.

Very impressive material.

(Guide and woman speaking)

- [Guide] The ants live in the hole inside.

- [Camera man] Oh yeah, you can see them, look.

Hopefully the camera is picking that up.

You can see the ...

- [Guide] You know why they make the nest like this,

because this one is best meal for the birds,

something like that.

So, they try to protect themselves, yeah, from the ants.

- [Camera Man] They can't protect themselves

from the blacksmith.

- From the birds, yeah, sorry.

- [Cameraman] Well, they can't protect themselves from the

blacksmiths, yeah?

(laughter)

- [Guide] And the nest is very strong.

- [Cameraman] Yeah, that's amazing.

The evolution of electronic music - Duration: 3:40.

Technology has changed everything

in a very short time and in the last

20 years the change from analog to digital

has been radical, the world of music was not left out

and for this we taught you how

the DJ's have changed through the years... Are you ready?

Everything started with the vinyls

When acetate discs were the only way to transport

recorded music, to be a DJ you needed to have

a huge house where you could keep

all your records

travel with tons

of plastic, and be the most careful person

because with any punch or scratch

your disc was thrown lose...

Poor Dj´s!!!!

Poor Dj´s!!!!

honestly is a great form of art...

Then came the CD's

This format made things much easier,

instead of having to carry large vinyl cases

now you can made a folder of your discs

that was it...

also with the advances of technology

you could copy your discs or make your own compilations;

That avoided that if you lost or your file was stolen your discs would be gone forever.

The computers took the world

Today a laptop, a hard disk or a USB memory

is enough to be able to play,

and by searching on the net you can find where to buy

or download the necessary files to put everyone to dance.

now it´s kind of easy....

Now

How we used to look at the Dj´s

Originally, the DJ had a very special place in the discotheques

where people went to dance disco music

but it did not mean that it was an important person

During the 70s and 80s

DJs went unnoticed

by the audience that came to these places.

In this new century, Dj´s have a special place

because they are seen by authentic rockstars

around the world, and enjoy all those eccentricities

that dominated

rock stars in past decades...

Nowadays, a DJ could charge up to 1 million dollars

per presentation, or appear in the most important events around the world.

So, obviosuly, who doesn´t want to be a famous Dj?

While the future dictates that technology will

do great things and machines

will be able to perform any task,

it is very true that DJs will never be supplied by a machine

as the DJ as well as being an expert in manipulating his equipment ,

there is a key piece that each of them dominates,

to be a psychologist.

Because they know perfectly what song

to put to make the party become crazy

or to guide us on a path of ups and downs

in which he won´t let us sit for a single moment to rest.

You should now how to read people

and that can´t be done by a mashine....

What else do you think will happen in a future?

with the technology and the Dj´s?

and of course, with electronic music

Let me know your ideas on the comments

and please don´t forget to suscribe!

Lots of kisses!

See you all next thursday here!

You're done, the museum's closed. Thank you.

Are you all right, miss?

- My heart. I... I... - I'm sorry?

Please, take me to the hospital.

Take me to the hospital.

Just hold on tight.

Feminism - Episode 4 - The rise of laissez faire - Duration: 5:53.

Hi, I'm a Philosophical Mind

And welcome to the talk about Feminism - The why - The how - The what - And the what do

we do

A series of 6 talks about Feminism, what it is, how it came to be, and what if anything

we can do about it.

The last leg of understanding how this happened is to take a historical look at how societies

have progressed and stagnated before us.

All throughout history, the way we have grown and progressed as societies have been through

a dual relationship between the previous and the next generation.

Now you can find societies who have done it differently but the societies who used this

dual relationship were the ones who progressed and prospered while the others dwindled by

the wayside of history.

And that dual relationship was based on mutual respect between the 2 generations and the

strengths of them both.

On the one hand, you had the older generation as the defenders of the good things that already

existed in society.

And on the other hand, you had the younger generation as the fresh blood with new ways

of looking at things brainstorming new ideas, and, as it is with brainstorming, mostly bad

ideas but some very good ones in between that helped bring us forward.

Or, to put it another way, the younger generation spit out new ideas, and argued for them, after

which the older generation looked at them and said no to the bad ideas and yes to the

good ones - thereby keeping what was good in society and exchanging what was bad with

something better, so only the good things survived giving a better society than the

one before.

This again is a gross oversimplification, and this is not how history looked all throughout,

but the societies who got closest to this ideal were the ones who made it in the long

run.

So as an example, you have the middle ages, also known as the dark ages, where religion

made this ideal impossible, and then it was replaced by the enlightenment were this ideal

was the base underpinnings - and we all know which of these 2 prospered and which didn't.

Now this all changed back in the early- to mid- 20th century because of the 2 world wars.

Because of the fact, for good or bad, that the roles between the sexes were generally

such at the time, that the role of disciplinarian was given to the father, and because of a

large number of fathers were gone from the family because of all the deaths in the wars

- the part of the older generation who were assigned the task of saying no to the bad

ideas of the younger generation wasn't there anymore.

So, instead of the system that had worked so well throughout history, you suddenly missed

the half of the equation, the part of the older generation that were supposed to say

no to bad ideas.

And that lead to each successively generation being worse than the previous generation at

saying no to the bad ideas of the next generation and as a result the 99% bad ideas in any given

brainstorm started permeating society.

So, you went from bad decade to worse decade each decade completely rearranging society

randomly instead of gradual change towards the better, all the way from the Frankfurt

school's ides of uncoupling Constructionism from Constructivism and economic policies

leading to the crash in 1929 all the way through to today where you have students screaming

at professors demanding 'safe-spaces' over Halloween costumes and professors and

administrators mentally unable to say no to them.

PHASE 3 START 🔥 | LumoVlog 035 - Duration: 4:27.

It was an awkward moment...

Maybe it wasn't awkward until you said something 😜

So today's going to be more of a disccusion of

how we're transitioning and

next week will be the more detailed plan of attack

and this is a high level meeting.

Today we're going to mainly have a discussion

look at things at a high level,

see how I mapped things out and see if you guys agree.

The feedback I'm looking for today

is going to guide our discussion for mapping out

the details of Phase 3, so we're looking for

pain points, and things that

need to get done, that haven't gotten done.

At Phase 3, which is today,

where the two split,

I have us doubling down on our current team.

Everything that we said we're going to do,

let's get our noses back into policies, procedures,

having a persisting workflow every single day.

Which I know the marketing team's been doing with

publishing the vlog, posting on social media,

so it's taking that mindset,

to every other department, and just keep repeating.

Our designs, whether it's the product or the UX

or the website our our marketing,

it's all going to drive sales. That's the point.

Value driven traffic.

Our traffic will come to us the more we give them value.

Whether it's in the form of their experience with us,

or just a great animated logo.

Then after that, jobs drive sales, sales drive jobs.

You can't have a lot of sales without a lot of jobs,

you can't have a lot of jobs without a lot of sales.

And also having the 'next action' thinking.

Instead of, "What should I be thinking about?"

It's more like, "What hasn't gotten done today?"

That's kind of like the mantra.

Less creativity, but going deeper so we can be

more creative about our problem-solving.

Here's what I'm going to do, I'm just gonna...

consolidate this all into one thing, called 'Cards.'

And I'll just toggle stuff off.

So here's my question about pricing,

Are we actually going to be selling logos as different -

At different price points?

Possibly.

This just gives us the option to do that.

Ok.

The flexibility and the structure to do that.

Ok.

So let's pull up an Amazon product page

and see what they have.

Yup.
