I think it's about... 33 cm... (13'')
Previous one was 29 cm (11,5'')
I got only two strikes and to fish so far, but...

Huge, old fish.
Last perch was hooked on the gills and I bagged him for my cats...
...I'm sure they will be very happy with that ;)
But this one is in great shape and softly hooked.
So we can release it without any issues.
I release all my PBs. Actually I release majority of my fish...
...But especially my big ones.
We will release that perch too, I hope he will grow up to even larger size.
He's got a huge potential, as you can see.

...Because I feel there's more fish in here...
...I had one tricky bite which shows me that perch aren't very eager to cooperate.
Well, big perch aren't dumb, as you probably know...
I have quite a 'creative mess' in here...
I'm looking for a lurebox and I just realised it's in my pocket...

The weather is very fine today, very light frost, at least my car displayed -1 degree Celsius.
My hands are warm, it's pleasure to fish today...
As you can see I'm not even using balaclava or hood.
Perfect conditions. The ice is thick enough for such a reservoir.
Maybe on some big lake I wouldn't be so sure about this...
...But here we have somewhere between 12-15 cm of ice thickness.
It's very solid ice, so we can roam around without any concerns.
OK, I'm almost ready with my new lure, I'll give it a few more shots.
I hope for some additional fat perch or two.

What I tell you... It's kind of fun.
I came here to play with some perch, last time I was here with my brother-in-law...
...And I knew that some decent perch live here, because once I hooked here perch around 28 or 29 cm...
...But what just happened... It's blowing my mind!
I caught 29, 33 and 37 cm perch...
...Which was SO fat, I haven't seen perch like this for a long time.
Well, actually in September my dad caught some common sized perch in Sweden, but...
...It's incredible, beautiful... stout... dark brown fish...
...As you just saw on the movie.
I'm really delighted, the biggest two fish are still swimming in that pond...
I don't know how old this resrvoir is, but I know perch grows really slow...
...And I hope it won't change, so the fish could grow bigger and bigger...
...Conditions are great here, loads of small fish, so I wish them to reach 2 kg!
Perch are incredible, really incredible fish...
I bagged one for my cats, because he got hooked in the gills...
...He was bleeding a lot anyway, so... every cloud has a silver lining...
...However, those two big ones will spawn soon, since we have January now.
I hope planty of little perchies will hatch out.
Such a huge fish surely have strong genes...
...If they grew up so big, it means they're healthy, strong and they've avoided many dangers.
I think their offspring will rise well in this pond...
...And I will be able to fish here just like it's been until now.
Great. Maybe I'll try to catch something more.
Unfortunately, my battery ran out just when I was releasing the biggest perch.
I can't say now if it's captured or not, I put the fish into the hole and my camera beeped...
So I really don't know if it's recorded or not...
...But the memories will last in my mind for very long... or even forever.
Oh, by the way. You've seen why I use the rod that is 'too long'.
It's for fighting with big fish, I prefer to use longer rod for this job.
Infact, this rod was handcrafted by my dad for me.

It was worth coming here.
Sometimes we plan great fishing trip and we catch nothing...
...And sometimes we just pop out for a few moments and water rewards us with great trophies.
...And today was exactly this day.
