Some things I can say about the object. It's self-luminous, with a white diffuse emission.

It's not a uniform sphere, but an irregular shape more akin to a stone.

It tumbles and twirls, does not morph.

Movement is highly irregular and nonlinear, with steep acceleration and deceleration curves.

It appears to shrink and expand relative to background without apparent movement away from the camera.

Going frame-by-frame to very slow, there are no cuts.

This was shot as a single take.

To fake this with 3D software would take some effort.

First, there are no clear contrast points with which to motion-track.

Second, in the foliage, the object appears to hover in and around leaves swaying in the wind.

With no contrast points for motion-tracking there either.

I suppose it would be possible to use multiple photographs to create a virtual 3D set of the yard.

Build a 3D model. Camera track the video. And then animate from there.

But whoever did that animation has expert skills with key-framing nonlinear motion curves.

Another option might be to video an insect, like a dragonfly,

and then painstakingly paint a 3D object frame-by-frame over that.

Which would have to be animated as well.

So, I think unless you're working with a team of pro animators, this is not fake. "
