Have you ever wondered how your favorite youtuber or singer gets perfectly good quality audio

Especially when they're using an external USB microphone and recording with their iPhone

Well, if you have I'm gonna show you how you can record video with your iPhone

Audio with the USB microphone and how you can sync the two together to make a perfect video

So at the moment we're recording the video with our DSLR

But now we're going to switch to the iPhone and as you can hear we've also switch the audio to the iPhone built in microphone

and it sounds a bit tinny, a bit echo a bit distant and this is what the sound comes like from the iPhone itself and

A lot of youtubers start off this way because the iPhone is actually a pretty good camera

Filming on but the audio is where it let's it down

So what we're going to do now is continue shooting with the iPhone

But now we've switched to the SL600

USB microphone and as you can already hear the audio quality is lovely and crisp there's a nice level of bass and treble to

the sound and it's taken out a lot of the

Distant sounds and echoes that were in the room before. So we've done this in post. It's really easy to do

So I'm going to show you a step-by-step guide on how you can do it, too

So step one is to download audacity

You can use any recording software

But audacity is available for both Mac and PC and it's free. Next, you need to plug in your SL600

to your Mac or PC and then select that as the input device for your computer as well as the recording software

You're using such as audacity. Step three is a little bit of a tip

You want to make sure your iPhone is on a tripod so it keeps the shot nice and steady

There's nothing worse than some shaky video footage. Step 4, hit record on audacity then hit record on your camera

So you're recording at the same time.

So now we've got the audio being recorded on the SL600

as well as the video and audio of the iPhone being recorded directly to the iPhone itself

So the next thing you want to do is a big clap when you're recording

This will be recorded into your SL

600 and the iPhones video and it allows you to sync up the audio and video a bit later on so it's a really important

step

So when you've finished recording make sure you press stop on your iPhone and stop in audacity now within

Audacity, you can export as an mp3 or wav a WAV file is a little bit higher

So I'd recommend doing that if you can okay, so next you'll need some basic video editing software

And for this example, we're using iMovie as it's free with a Mac for a PC

You can use something called video pad and will include the links below in the description

So I've already started a new project here in iMovie, and I've imported our video clip here and then our audio clip from audacity

so I've dragged down the section of the clip into iMovie and as you can hear as you can hear this is the

Audio and the video directly from the iPhone, which doesn't sound too great

So

As you can see here the audio, isn't that great?

So what we want to do is bring down this audio file here from audacity and sync it up now

What will happen here when you drag onto the timeline it will of course be completely out of sync if we play that back now

So you can hear the both audio files from the iPhone and audacity are playing at the same time

so the first thing you want to do is

Right click here on your video clip and click detach audio

then because we actually want to get rid of the audio which was recorded on the iPhone and we want to replace that with our

Really good, SL 600 audio. All you do is simply click this and then hit the Delete key

Now then the next thing we want to do is line up the audio perfectly, so it's fully in sync

Now this is why we did the clap at the beginning of the video clip because here you can see in the actual audio

Waveform you can see the clap peaking right there

So what we need to do is find a point in the video where you can see the clap happen

which is if we take it back to the start, which is about there and

Then what we do is if we drag the audio along to that point and get it all lined up you should see

That luckily this is kind of almost perfect already for us. But if we now play that back you should see that the audio is

Perfectly now in time. Let's play it back and have a listen

So this is the video footage coming straight from the iPhone and the audio is being recorded with the SL 600

The problem we have is that the iPhones video and audio are linked. So there you have it

Ok, so now I'm going to show you how to sync the audio together using video pad on a PC or a Mac

I've imported the video footage here into video pad

Using the add file section here, and I've added the audio file from from audacity in here

So basically, all you need to do is get your clip

Let's drag that into the video

Section there and that will add that to the timeline and you'll see here you have the audio and the video

from the iPhone if we play that through

So you can see there that the audio is not particularly great

So what we're going to do next is get our audacity audio file

We're going to click and drag that and we're going to click in this little section here at the bottom to create a new mix

Now you can see that we have three layers. We have the video

We have the iPhone audio and then we have our audacity SL 600 file. So what we want to do is

Sync these two files up. And this is why we did the clap at the start of the video

So this is why we did the clap at the start of the video file and you can see here as we drag this along

If you look at the start of the waveform here just under the red cursor

That's where we made our clap. And then if you look at the iPhones audio file here, you can also see that clap

So what we don't want to do is we want to move this and then sync them up

Luckily that clips are almost the same length

So they sync up quite well now if we play them together at the same time

you'll hear both the

IPhones audio and the SL 600 audio being played at the same time so we can do that here by clicking on the audio track

One we want to right click that and then unlink from video

Once that's unlinked you can just click onto the file hit delete or right click and then delete

This will remove the iPhones audio and it will leave you with your clean crisp e SL 600 audio

It'll now sound perfectly great

So this is the video footage coming straight from the iPhone and the audio is being recorded with the SL

600 the problem we have is that the so there we have it you now have some clean audio

Some clean video and you can now export this file so you can use it on your new YouTube channel

So that's it. You've now got a great video with some great audio which you can now upload to YouTube

#HelpingFlo - a video message for members of the public - Duration: 5:15.

Hi my name is Tom Bartram, I'm an A&E consultant here at Macclesfield Hospital in

East Cheshire. Look the NHS is an amazing resource and you may not have to use it

yet but it's always there for us in our times of need. In recent years you may

have heard about the increasing pressures on healthcare services and how

we struggle particularly in the winter months to cope with the number of people

that need us. We want to be able to give everyone the best care but that can be

difficult when there are so many patients needing our services at the

same time. On average we admit 30 patients a day to the 200 beds we have

to treat patients but what happens when these beds are full and the flow of

patients just slows right down. If we can't discharge patients when they

are medically well or they don't leave hospital until late in the day what

happens to all those poorly patients who are waiting and A&E who really need a

bed. So how do we fix it there are no easy answers but by working together we

can make a difference we are constantly improving the way we do things here at

the hospital to make things better but what can you do to help Flo.

Admission to hospital is not always the first, only or best option you may be referred to

hospital by your own GP and you may even be transported in an ambulance like this

that doesn't necessarily mean that you will be admitted to hospital. Following

tests and investigations if it's safe to do so you will be discharged home. That

might be with an outpatient or clinic appointment or even a referral back to

your GP that's helping Flo. If you are admitted bring day clothes and the right

footwear as being out of bed can help recovery. It's been really important to

me to be able to get up out of bed, just starting to feel so normal again to get dressed

in your own clothes to be able to walk around when you have been used to being so fit and active. So if

you are admitted to hospital remember to bring day clothes and

footwear so that you can get up and keep moving.

If you need other things to stay active to such as glasses and hearing aids bring

them to. It really might mean that you could go home that little bit sooner

that's helping Flo. Please make sure all practical

arrangements are in place for your discharge. You might need someone to

collect you and take you home or stay with you for a while when you do go home.

You might need to ask us to organise transport or you might need us to look

into ongoing care for you. Making preparations will help us to get you

home as soon as you are ready that's helping Flo. Please prioritise

collecting your loved one as soon as they are ready

our aim is to discharge patients by 11:00 a.m. Freeing up beds for patients

that are acutely ill is one of the most important things we can do to make sure

we have good flow. If you are collecting someone from hospital it really does

make a difference if you can pick them up as soon as they are ready. If you can't be

picked up straight away we will probably bring you to our discharge lounge - an

area in the hospital where patients can wait to be collected or wait for

transport or discharging medication. Freeing up beds early in a day that's helping Flo.

Once you no longer need an acute hospital bed please be prepared to

receive any ongoing care in a different setting.

We have interim placements in various locations such as Macclesfield, Congleton, Knutsford and Wilmslow.

That's where we can continue to work with, you build up your

confidence, maximise your independence and hopefully get you straight home.

If you decline a rehabilitation bed because it's not as close to home as you

would like this can cause a delay for your rehab needs as well as for

the patients in A&E that require a hospital bed. We ask you

to consider them when it's time for discharge or transfer to another unit

this is helping Flo. This winter will certainly be another challenge for

healthcare across the country. We want you to get the best care in the

right place. Patients, carers and relatives can all help us keep hospital beds free

for the sickest patients by helping each other

we're helping Flo!

#HelpingFlo - a video message for health and social care staff - Duration: 5:13.

Hi my name's Tom Bartram I'm an A&E Consultant Macclesfield hospital in East

Cheshire. Last winter was the busiest ever for healthcare and there's no

reason to think that this year will be any easier. At Macclesfield hospital we admit 30

patients a day and this year there are already days when this is a challenge.

Good flow is the effective and timely movement of patients between departments

within the hospital and it's key to patient experience clinical safety and

reducing pressure on staff. When flow slows down the system clogs up and

patients wait. This isn't how any of us would like our families or our loved

ones to care for. Helping Flo should matter to all of us because if we get it

right our patients benefit, our staff will benefit and we'll be in a much

better position as we approach this winter. Helping Flo here's how...

Whatever your role wherever you work we all have a responsibility to make a difference to Flo

I'm helping Flo by working with other care providers to ensure that we

have the necessary staff and resources to care for our local population

I'm helping Flo by working with my community team to keep our patients well

at home and keep them out of hospital I'm helping Flo by ensuring that I am

aware of alternatives to A&E when a patient doesn't require an emergency care.

I'm helping Flo by providing information to the hospital when

patients are admitted. I'm helping Flo by getting patients where they need to

be quickly as possible. We're helping Flo by transferring

patients from their ward to the Discharge Lounge. I'm helping Flo by caring for people in

the community who are medically well but not ready to be completely independent.

I'm helping Flo this way by working in conjunction with my colleagues to ensure

that a holistic and safe approach is provided for all. We must start to

plan patients discharged as soon as they are admitted.

So checking a patient's community care arrangements whilst they're being assessed can help us to

make a decision about whether admission is the best or only option

we're helping Flo. All patients have an expected date of discharge generated on

admission, if we identify at this stage whether the patient will need transport

and book it in advance via the discharge lounge there's no more waiting for

transport we're helping Flo.

So often patients have to wait for their EDNF to be completed when they are otherwise ready

to go home. Let's make sure EDNFs are started on admission and

updated throughout a patient's day then waiting for discharge meds becomes a

thing of the past we're helpings Flo. Doing your job today

will mean patients spend less time waiting for things to happen while they are in

hospital. The morning board round on the ward is key to planning what needs to happen each day.

We need our doctors, nurses therapists, pharmacists and IDT team members here.

We use red and green to help us. A green day is a day when patients are

actively receiving acute care that can only be provided in hospital. A red day

is a day of waiting or inactivity. If people are missing from the board road or were

not specific about what needs to happen how do we know we're working towards the same goal.

A well attended and action focused board round is helping Flo. We must involve patients and their families in discharge plans

to ensure that they all have the relevant information and all practical

arrangements are in place. If we talk to patients and their families about our

expectations for discharge and their's we can avoid some of the last-minute problems. Ask

yourself does my patient know the answer to these four questions? They really

should. When patients and families are involved in planning their own discharge

that's helping Flo. If we encourage patients to get up dressed and active it

will help to maintain a patient's functional fitness. This starts at the

front door in our A&E department. Ask yourself does your patient need to be on

trolley? Do they need to be in the gown? or are they fit to sit? Being in your Pyjamas

and in bed when it's not clinically necessary can contribute to some really

poor outcomes for patients. Ask patients and their families to bring in suitable

clothes and footwear to keep patients active where we can. We need to give

patients the opportunity to get up and dressed when they are willing and well

enough that's helping Flo. These are just some of the ways we can help

Flo. We can make this winter better for all of us if we're helping Flo we're

helping each other and we're helping our patients!

Fujifilm introduces the Instax Square SQ20 comes with video recording and 4x digital zoom - Duration: 2:34.

fujifilm is introducing its second

hybrid instant camera and it comes with

a feature that might sound very out of

place on its Instax line video recording

the new model the Instax square SQ20 is able to capture video clips of up

to 15 seconds while you're able to store

those on an SD card that isn't really

the point

instead the SQ20 uses those video clips

to create new photo effects which you

can then edit and print out directly

from the camera the square Twenties

motion mode will let you scrub through a

video to find the frame you think is

best and then print that exact moment

another option will create a fake long

exposure blurring the motion captured in

the video there's also a fake 35

millimeters film strip border that can

be applied to pictures captured in this

mode those are largely the only new

features here unfortunately the camera

also includes a downgrade a smaller

sensor from one-quarter inch on the SQ 10 to 1/5 inch on the SQ 20 the lens

seems to be the same with an F / 2.4

aperture but the smaller sensor means

it's not capturing as wide a field of

view as before going from a 28 point

five millimeters equivalent to 33 point

four millimeters Fuji film is adding a

digital zoom function letting you punch

in by 4x zoom it's the first zoom

feature ever to make it onto an Instax

camera though all but one of the others

weren't digital the camera will go on

sale on October 20th pricing hasn't been

announced yet the square 10 initially

launched for $280 but it's now available

for under $200 you will also need to buy

plenty of square instant film packs

which cost $15 for 10 sheets
