If you feel a spark of fire
when you do new things, meet different people
Go for it, Just try it.
What is life without trying?
You don't have anything to lose.
This is it, this is your one time chance
We have one life
You can go back into your comfort zone if you want
But, life is only one chance
And you have to keep moving
And the bottom line is we all experience fear
You have choices
You can either succumb to fear
Or you can minimize it and try to do something new

Which is a video on Monica
Who is a deaf woman
that lives in her VW van
And that van
runs on vegetable oil
Hi, I'm Monica
And I'm a Vanlifer
I'm deaf
This is my van
named Belugie
It's a biodiesel van
Year 1982
My name is Callie and I'll be interpreting
I started getting into vanlife
I was born getting into it
My father was a huge traveler, vanlifer himself
When I graduated high school
I moved to Washington D.C.
and I went to Gallaudet University
The only deaf university in the world
All staff, students, teachers, they all sign
I got different types of jobs
I worked a nine to five job
I really didn't like that
that wasn't something that I wanted to do
I had a 1970 Volkswagen Bug
And that was the only car that I had
I didn't really know what to do with it
My dad said
"Well, it's already converted into biodiesel"
So I took out the passenger seat
Kinda made an L shaped bed
Put it in the back
It started ever since then
♫ Stand up tall
we've got to face our fears
and knock down these walls
It is time
to stand up tall ♫
I'd like you to meet Belugie
This is my home, this is my baby
this is a special dash for the vegetable oil
and this is a switch and then so
when you're ready turn it on so then you
wait for the temperature to go over 170 degrees
then you'll switch it off
you'll need to purge it first
You know get the excess oil out of the engine
and then so when the temperature
decreases you can turn it off
and then you're back to regular diesel
you could drive a little bit more and
then that's really it so it's important
to plan ahead if you're going on a long
trip it's important to know how much is
left or how much vegetable oil you have
Make sure to purge everything out of the engine
You know, it doesn't take long
so this is my bed set up right here
and so you know when we're ready to move
things around it does turn into a bench
and I can show you how that works
and that's it and then that's kind of
like a backrest separate from the bench
Let me show you the biodiesel tank in the back right
here
If it's an emergency or
something is happening you can just go to
the grocery store and get canola oil
just take it off the shelf canola
oil works right in here
it's called a straight vegetable oil
S.V.O. it's already filtered
and so this is called a pop up
You pop when it's hot
On the top, this is the other bed
Two people can sleep up here
and then two can sleep
down here sometimes three if you really make it happen
so for Burning Man festival I went with
my friends and really it really worked
out we had five people in here
♫ You've got to get back up
when the world comes crashing down
You've got to hold your ground
It is time
to stand up tall
we gotta face our fears ♫
this is my main area right here
♫ it is time
to stand up tall
We've got to face our fears
and knock down these walls
and then right here is a sink
this broke, I'm sad
♫ And when the world pushes you down
You've got to get back up
And when the world comes crashing down ♫
the best thing about this is the chairs
turn around
honestly this is all I need
♫ It is time, to stand up tall
We've got to face our fears ♫
the earth doesn't belong to us we belong
to the earth and I consider myself
renting my time
This is my life
this is the movement
this is the start
and the spread of it
it's a beautiful life
and it's more than I could ever imagine
I don't want to be stuck in one place
Your vibe attracts your tribe
it's important to grow into network and
to be passionate about the life that you live
and set an example for people
which would you rather do? Live in your dreams
or live your dreams
and if you know any deaf children
I'm not sure if you've familiar with
Nyle Dimarco he is a extreme advocate for
language deprived children's and he has
a website that you all can look at and
become more educated on deaf children
and language deprivation
