Hello, how are you everyone? I'm Fauzan from AFUAN,
and today I will give you a tutorial on how to transfer video from laptop to iPhone
Android users can send videos from laptop to Android phone or vice versa easily
Just plug it in and the files in the Android smartphone can be accessed directly,
including to send videos
Unlike the case with the iPhone,
to do this still requires some additional tricks
"Videos" is the default player on the iPhone that is rarely used by its users
Therefore,
many iPhone users choose to use third-party video player
One of the most popular is VLC,
because it supports various video formats that cannot be played in the "Videos" app
There are actually many ways to transfer video from a laptop to an iPhone
And I will show you 3 ways to send the video,
without having to install any third party paid application
But before that,
make sure VLC has been installed on your iPhone
1. iTunes
Available for macOS and Windows
iTunes is a music player developed by Apple that's available for both macOS and Windows
Besides its function as a music player,
iTunes can also be used to access iPhone's data,
including to send videos
Using iTunes to send videos to an iPhone is the most effective way for fast data transfer
The steps:
1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac/PC,
and iTunes will be open automatically
If iTunes doesn't open automatically, open it manually
2. Click "Continue" on your Mac/PC and tap "Trust" on your iPhone,
then enter your iPhone password so iTunes can access your iPhone
3. Click the device icon next to the music tab
4. Select File Sharing,
then select VLC
5. Drag and Drop video to iTunes
6. Wait a while and the video should appear in the VLC library
2. Sharing via WiFi
Available for macOS, Windows and Linux
Sharing via WiFi is a built-in feature in the VLC for iPhone
Because this method relies on wifi to transfer video,
the transfer speed is not as fast as iTunes that uses cable
The steps:
1. Make sure your laptop and iPhone are connected to the same wifi network
2. Open VLC on your iPhone
3. Tap on the VLC icon in the upper left corner,
or swipe to the right from the left of your iPhone screen to open the menu
4. In the Network section,
activate Sharing via WiFi, then copy the URL address to your laptop browser
5. Now you can transfer video to your iPhone through the browser
3. AirDrop
Only available for macOS
AirDrop is a file sharing feature between Apple devices that rely on Wifi and Bluetooth networks in transferring data
So this third way can only be done by MacOS / Mac users
The steps:
1. Set Airdrop on Mac and iPhone to "Everyone"
2. On Mac, right-click on the video you want to transfer and select Share,
select AirDrop
3. Wait for a while until the iPhone is detected in AirDrop,
then click iPhone to transfer the video
4. If the video is in .mp4 or .mov format,
the video will be sent to photos
But if it's in mkv format,
choose "Open with Files"
5. Select on my iPhone,
select VLC and tap "Add" to save it in the VLC library
6. Tap Done
Those are some ways to transfer video from laptop to iPhone
