Jenna at McGill (Video 2) - Duration: 5:23.hey guys it's Jenna here again this is my second video I
hope you guys like my first I certainly had a good time and today I'm gonna be
talking a little bit more about myself my background and the wonderful glorious
city of Montreal so I was born and raised here Montreal proud my father is
French my mother is an Anglophone here from Montreal
I speak English primarily at home and I learned French at school my accent is
not that bad could be worse don't judge me thank you very much um I
don't have the greatest relationship with my father we don't talk very much
unfortunately and for that reason I try to stay occupied I really get involved
in the city actually last summer I worked as a lifeguard for the city of
Montreal was that was really fun I really like that there's a lot going on
in this city right now they're doing a lot of
construction which is really annoying because all the sound like during class
you hear the drills and across the street it takes like 20 minutes to get
through the main gates which is really annoying um but I guess it's gonna be
worth it at the end because it's for the three hundred and seventy fifth
anniversary of the city which is a pretty big deal it's pretty old
it's nice uh and there's obviously a lot of traffic which is unfortunate but all is
well that ends well it's very good purpose
there's also there's a lot of stuff to do here right now I know there's a wax
museum as open the Eaton Center right by the McGill metro station which is really
cool and I always pose with DiCaprio and I try to convince people that it's really
DiCaprio but it's not they know that it's not it's kind of humiliating cuz I
post a picture on Instagram they're like it's not him and I'm like yeah it is no it is not
and there's also a Barbie Museum which is really cool
I love Barbie's growing up that's at the Peel metro station and there's also
Museum of Fine Arts at the Concordia metro station there's a lot of really
nice exhibitions going on right there and so yeah that's the artistic cultural
side of the city and there is also as I said there's a lot of things changing
constantly it's a very vibrant dynamic city and there's there's a new book
stair new bookstore um use it used to be near the Shatner building but now it's
right by I think the new rez on ave du Parc uh and the Shatner building is
really it's really called a brown building or the Student Center I
don't know there's a lot of names for a lot of things and it gets really
convoluted I don't know now I'm from here
so I can't imagine people who are not from here um which actually makes me
think we shouldn't have lifeguard courses here
McGill I would love to do that I know they offer lifeguard courses at at
Harvard have you seen those shirts that say Harvard America's McGill like yeah
that's right that's us that's us proud a proud student um yeah I love the
sweater it's really soft it's got it
lifeguard oh I'm also a member of the McGill um
ballroom dance club yeah like to the ballroom dance it's really fun which
makes me think we should have a debutante ball oh yeah I'm totally down
for debutante ball and the profits can go to school bursaries yeah that'd be
super cool I'm down the the schooling system also here in Canada is a little
bit different than that in the States there's a primary school just grade like
one to six I guess that's your equivalent those Americans to you to a
great school or elementary school you know there's also the there's also
secondary which is grades 7 to 11 that's like the equivalent of high school and
then there's Cégep which is like the transition from
high school to college it's that sort of in-between it's also it's very dependent
upon your program how long you spend in cégep and how long you spend later on in University
are some differences in the education system and yeah I feel like it's prepped
me pretty well for a college to be honest I feel like I'm on top of my game. I hope.
Oh we'll see anyway that's what's up for today and I hope you guys enjoyed my
little spiel about McGill Montreal and myself so have a good day guys and don't
forget to subscribe down below.
