The other night I heard the babies left to cry
I saw the images of kids wondering why
And I can hear the arguing from the left and right
But now what the fuck is left to write?
'Cause listen, this ain't about politics or about taking shots
It isn't about whether you're American or not
Because regardless of race or nationality
You should have some humanity, it's insanity, just let the hating stop
You think these families came to make crime?
I bet you they came so they could escape crime
I know they might've broke the law but
Should a rapist and a mom who just wants to support her kids get the same jail time?
You call them tender age, man I heard that Saturday
But these are people's babies who never had a sadder day
I dare you to look at the kids right in their face
And tell them that this is why America is great
I don't know, know, know
Where the love will go, go go
I don't know, know, know
Where the love will go, go, go
When I was 15 I hated my fucking life so I ran out the door
When my dad found me I'd never seen him cry like that before
Now I ask you to look at the families at the border
And tell me what you would do if one of those children were yours
Because my parents immigrated to give me a happy life
They did it legally but they'd make any sacrifice
I know the people at border might've broke the law but
They just want the best for their kids like you do am I right?
And now we got kids locked up in cages like pets
Man, do I even need to say the rest?
They put the Japanese in camps just like the ones that I'm seeing
Stripped of their rights not as Americans but human beings
And I know it's not the same but it's the same lack of sympathy
Are you on some claritin, some anti-history?
The hate is spreading like cancer in your brain
Is it really American to be inhumane?
I don't know, know know
Where the love will go, go, go
I don't know, know, know
Where the love will go, go, go
"womp womp"
