Video #3: The Young Living Promise-Seed to Seal - Duration: 4:11.

So one of the main reasons I chose Young

Living over other essential oil

companies is its Seed to Seal promise.

So the Seed to Seal promise has five

steps. The first is the Seed. Starting with the

seed they plant in the ground, they

pick the best of the best. After the

harvesting of all of their plants that year

they save the best seeds that they find

to replant for next year. Next is

Cultivate. They own most of their farms

and closely partner with the ones that

they don't so this ensures

that only sustainable farming practices

are being used on their plants. Which

means no pesticides. It's all natural

so you're getting the best of the best.

If you're looking to do plant based things

because you're looking for a healthier

lifestyle and a healthier alternative,

you obviously want to do the healthiest

you can get. Young Living is the only

company who owns their own farms so

they're the only ones who can ensure that

they aren't using outside chemicals on

the plants.

The third is Distillation. So each oil

on-site, by gentle steam distillation and

cold pressing, the oils are extracted. The

distillation is a very very important

process because if it's done improperly

you lose the purity of the oil. Other

companies, the reason some of them are

much much cheaper, like the ones you can

find in the stores, is usually because

they cheat the distillation process. So

they you can do it too quickly and then

you don't get the, you don't....if you do it

too quickly than you're pressing the oil

out of the plant way too fast and

you're losing a lot of the really

important properties of the oil. If you do it

too hot or too cold,

same thing. So the distillation process

is super super important. Fourth is

Testing. Throughout the process they

continue to test the oil to make sure

it's pure. There's pure or not pure. And thats it.

if it's not pure they toss it. If it's

pure they keep it. And then they also

have it third-party tested. The third

party is in no way affiliated with Young

Living so that removes the bias. They

have no reason to lie and be like, "oh

yeah, here, your oils are pure." They'll say

it's not pure you need to toss this

batch and start over. And they do

that if that's the case. So right, like I said,

it's pure r or not pure. And then lastly

is the Bottle. After all of this they

bottle the oil all the equipment from

seed to seal is either glass or

stainless steel. If you're using plastic

with the oils the plastic can actually

begin to...like chemicals in the plastic

will leach into the oil and then you

lose your purity once again. So, keep

that in mind that if you make any

products yourself or anything, you want

to put them in a glass bottle or if

you're going to drink them because

you're putting it in your water do it in

a glass or stainless steel. If you do

choose plastic, flip your bottle over and

on the bottom there's like that

recycable sign and you want the number

one in there. That means it's a grade one,

it's a high grade plastic and that one is

safe to use with the oils but usually if

you can, go for a glass or stainless

steel. So yeah, basically those are

the five steps to the Seed to Seal

promise and Young Living is the only

essential oil company that has that kind

of promise. And now we will jump into all

the oils that are in the premium starter kit.

So first up is lavender. Lavender is

actually considered the Swiss Army knife

of oils just because it's the most

common and there are so many uses for it. It's

known to soothe skin issues like cuts

and burns. It also has calming

effects so it's a good one to

defuse at night to just help you relax

and help you fall asleep. The next is

peppermint. Peppermint is a lot

of people's favorite. A lot of time

this is what turns people on to oils

because they tried peppermint it worked

for them. Usually for headaches. It's

really good for headaches, it supports

digestion so if you ever wondered

why restaurants give out peppermints

after your meals. its because

it helps aid in digestion. It's also

really really good for like a pick-me-up.

I've used it for driving to help me stay awake and Chris

takes it to work and uses it when he

works the night shift to just help

wake him up and promote concentration.

Lemon is detoxifying and purifying so

this is really good to drink in your

water to just help your body naturally

detox and purify. If

you're looking to get rid of chemicals

in your home this is you can actually

just add some drops of lemon into sweet

almond oil and you've got yourself a

toxic free furniture polish. You

can use lemon as a goo-gone. So you

know when they put the price tag

stickers on glass and it's so hard

to get off sometimes? Put a couple drops

on there let it sit for a bit and then

go ahead and scrub it off and it

usually works really really well

to get that off. It's used also for a

decongestant it helps break up kind of

like that phlegm nastiness you got going

on. You can add it to a drop of honey and

you've got yourself a cough syrup right

there and it's all natural. Mix it with

peppermint and lavender and that's your

LLP mix: lemon lavender and peppermint

which is great to help against these

allergies and currently that's what I've

had diffusing in both our room and

Brantley's room because allergies are

really bad for both of us right now. And

then we've got Frankincense. So

frankincense is a super powerful immune

supporting oil. It helps with

regenerating so it's really good to use

on your skin because it helps with cell

regeneration which in turn is helping to

fight against aging. So anything

you need a boost in healing, use

Frankincense for. It's really really

good for that. It supports healthy brain

function and kind of combats against

brain fog to help you stay focused and stay

on task. If you want to add

Frankincense to the crown of

your head before you need to sit and do

something that requires a lot of focus

it's good for that. RC. RC stands for

respiratory care

so it's obviously used for that:

respiratory care. It's a blend of

three types of eucalyptus, myrtle

marjoram, thyme, lavender, Cypress, black

spruce, and peppermint. This is good to

replace your Vicks. Just rub it on

your chest and it does the job. Copaiba.

Copaiba I think that's how you say it.

I've heard it pronounced differently by

everyone so that's how I pronounce

it .Copaiba. [Cough] Excuse me. It's a

really mild smell [sniffs]

yeah it's not like anything stinky or bad

it's just like, kind of just is what

it is. But it's really

great for inflammation so you can use it

internally to just help with overall

wellness, overall internal inflammation

anywhere in your body, so you can take it

that way. It's also known as a driver

oil so if you put it in any other blend

like when you're applying it topically

it helps to drive that oil deeper into

your tissue

and just work better. Peppermint is also

considered a driver oil. Teething!

Copaiba is great for teething. You

can just put it on your pinky or

finger and just rub it directly on the

gums. I've done that with Brantley and

that helps a lot with that.

I've also recently been using it on my

face and I've noticed a lot less redness

overall because it's like it's totally

taking away that inflammation. So

it's been really really good.

Purification. Purification. So this one is

another really good purifier. It's a

blend of citronella, rosemary, lemongrass,

lavender, tea tree, and myrtle. It can kill

mold, mildew, and neutralize odors, repel

bugs, and takes care of some skin

blemishes. You can just pop that right on

there and it helps out. We put some

drops on little cotton balls and stick the

cotton balls in Chris's work boots. We try

and do it like once a week or once every two

weeks to just help keep that stink away.

It''s also kind of referred to as a

gentle thieves, we'll talk about thieves

in a bit but it will do all the same

things but it's less strong of a smell.

Next is panaway. Panaway

is a really good blend for any sort of

pain. Panaway=pain away, you know?

It's got wintergreen, helychrism, clove,

and peppermint in it. I've used

it for headaches, if you've got muscle

pain or you just had a really hard

workout, rub some panaway on it, on your

muscle, and it will help prevent from

being as sore as you would have been

if you didn't use it. So that

one is like a really good one. I really

really like this one. I use it for headaches

often when I want something a little

stronger than peppermint, that's what I

go for.

A really good joint pain mix is if

you do panaway with copaiba

and rub that on your joints

that's going to help with the

inflammation and help with the pain at

the same time so that's a really good

mix to do together. So Thieves is next.

This is like I feel like one of the

most popular ones. It's a huge

immune-boosting one. We try, if I

remember, try to be really good about

rubbing it on Brantley's feet every day.

Every day! Just to help protect him from

getting sick, to help boost his immune

system, just give them the support that

he needs. You can take this one internally

but it is very spicy, think like big red

flavor, that's what it's like. So be

warned about that. But it is, it's a spicy

oil, thats what it's considered. And

really fun fact! It came from during

the Black Plague. As people were dying or

died there was a group of robbers who

were going through and like robbing

people's homes and stuff and they

weren't getting sick. They didn't like

catch the plague and it was because they

had actually mixed a concoction which is

now known as Thieves and wore that when

they went in. They put it on their

bandanas and covered their faces and went

in to the homes and stuff, so that

actually prevented them from catching

the illness and so now that's where

thieves came from them. The name thieves

obviously because they were robbers. You

could use it as a sanitizer, you

can spray your hands, any surfaces like

shopping carts, you can make your own chemical

free antibacterial hand soap. Young

Living has the whole Thieves home

cleaning kit and all of it is thieves

based. Thieves is in all of it

because it's a really really good anti

bacterial one and just kind of disease

fighting one. We've got two more.

Digize

is a really stinky one. I do not care for

the smell of this one, it's kind of got a

black licorice smell but it works so

well! It's used for digestive support and

you just rub it right on your stomach

and it's gonna do what you need it to do.

If Brantley was kind of

uncomfortable like Tooting here and

there and you could tell he was

having gas problems, I just I diluted it

and rubbed it on my hands and then rubbed it on

his belly and it totally helped with

that. [scrolling] Ummm, if you want to help it

cover more surface area use the

carrier oil too, because it's

going to just help it spread a little

better. And then you can also take it

internally if you want to give that a

shot but I personally cannot. Stress away

is the last one in here this is my

favorite smelling one of the kit. It's a

blend of copaiba, lime, cedarwood, vanilla,

and lavender and so it's, you can

really, to me, smell the lime in the

vanilla together and I really like that.

So I just wear it like every day. I just

put it on my neck, my wrists, and it's kinda

like a perfume for me and then it helps

just kind of combat against all of the

everyday stresses. Then this month,

actually if you order during the month

of May you get a free 15 milliliter

tangerine. So that's pretty cool. Tangerine is

super super yummy in your water that's

pretty much all I've really been using

for, or to diffuse. It smells really good diffused.

so you get that one free this

month too.

So yeah, that's everything in the kit!
