How to Draw Salty ♦ Thomas and Friends ♦ Drawing and Colors Learning video for Preschoolers - Duration: 10:59.

Hi, trainlovers! Do you want to draw!

So, let's first color Salty and then i will show you how to draw him with no much effort!

Alrighty, our first color will be yellow!

Salty worked on some coastal railway for many years,

where he received his large collection of stories and songs and probably his sailor's accent,

before coming to Sodor to work at the Centre Island Quarry with Mavis, Bill and Ben.

Here's we're gonna the next color! Red!

Salty was upset, being used to working near the sea,

but then he won the trucks with his tales and sea shanties,

and as a reward for his hard work was he was sent to work at Brendam Docks.

Salty has shared many stories with his fellow engines that have often come into play later on.

He also told a story about a treasure on Sodor and Thomas eventually found the treasure, just as the new Maritime Museum opened.

Look how nice the coloring is going on! Let's continue!

Our next color is black!

This will be used for Salty's lower part, then to make shadows and add some volume!

Salty later told the engines about the "strange engines" (Bash, Dash, and Ferdinand)

that lived on Misty Island, a mysterious island not far from Sodor.

Hm… So, what else can we tell about Salty?

Salty is easy-going, friendly and very practical.

He also enjoys telling stories taking place around the sea.

His seafaring ways and accent are sometimes ridiculed by the other engines, but his usefulness almost always helps the others overlook that.

He can work with trucks like no other engine; this is thanks to his enjoyment of working

to a musical rhythm like the trucks and it may also be due to his vast collection of sea shanties.

He loves the sea so much that he pines for it when he is away from it for long periods of time.

Now Salty looks just marvelous! He looks like alive here! Well done, my friends!!

So, i promised to teach you to draw Salty!Do you remember? Let's do it! Step-by-step!!

So, as I suggest we start from the very bottom!

Just several lines parallel to each other.

Then on the front i'm drawing two buffers and coupling hook between them.

A couple of more lines here… Well done!

Right above it i will draw Salty's face: eyes, big nose and, of course, smiling face!

Oh, don't forget about Salty's thick eyebrows!

Next i am drawing here an identifying element here just around his face so that everyone sees him!

After that i will start Salty's main body.. Small doors on the side..

And then two rails on both sides of Salty's face. Here we go!

Oh, almost forgot! The handrail on the top! Very easy.. Just several lines together…

Here we will add his smokestack… just like that!

Now I'll get down to SALTY'S cab at the back. Three windows on the side…

The whistle on top. Continuing to draw… Another window here… and a handrail..

A couple more strokes here… And Salty's name right here! S-A-L-T-Y. Very GOOD!

Right beneath it SALTY'S got small ladder. Right here!

A-ha, and here let's not forget about Salty's fuel tank! Good!

A straight line here to show the ground.

And now another ladder and three big driving wheels looking like big circles which are not difficult to draw.

And the we need to connect the wheels with a coupling rod.

A few more details here and a wheel on the other side.

Some elements of the wheels here.. And we are completely finished here!!!

The Art of Ink: Japanese - Duration: 8:34.

- [Taki] I think I've always been creative.

I've always liked drawing.

I've liked creating things.

You know, I've been tattooed now more years than I haven't.

I've been tattooing for almost two decades.

I think it's wonderful that people all over

the world can relate to this art form.

- [Luke] I do feel a personal connection

to the art that I create.

The essence of them is powerful.

I want my tattoos to read from across the room.

I don't want you to have to get right

up on it to know what it is.

- I would say I've had a lifelong

obsession with Japanese tattooing.

When I was a child I saw Japanese tattoo's

in Japanese television programs and

I was just instantly enamored with it.

And then from there devoting my life

to the study and the execution of the Japanese tattoo.

- One my mentors who taught me to tattoo

did mostly Japanese and that's my first

exposure to the style.

I was a professional MMA fighter for five years.

That work ethic has transferred over into tattooing.

I feel like I always should be working harder.

- [Taki] Horitomo is a master

tattooist of the Japanese form.

I think Horitomo is one of the most amazing

tattooers of our generation.

- He's incredible.

His ability in painting and tattooing

and the volume of work, the stuff

he's doing is just mind blowing.

- Japanese tattoos tell all the stories of Japan.

You have anything from like tales of

historical samurai, folk lore, legends, religion.

Really it's just a conduit for Japanese culture.

- Every little piece of Japanese tattooing has meaning.

You see a samurai looking boy holding a peach, there's

a reason, it's not just thrown in there.

- One of my favorite stories is Tomomori.

He was a warrior who lost a battle on a ship.

His entire army was drowned in the battle

and then in defeat he wrapped himself

around an anchor, drowned himself.

There's a crab called the heiki crab.

And the crab have a face on it that

looks just like a kabuki samurai face.

There's a lot of prints from 18th,

19th century of Tomomori wrapped around

an anchor with these crab and

the Japanese people will not eat these crab

cause they believe they're the spirits

of the fallen warriors of Tomomori.

That's what's so cool about Japanese

as you start to understand the stories.

And I try to bring that into my tattooing.

- It's thought tattooing existed as early as 10,000 BC.

The first written accounts by the Chinese

when they visited Japan, they

called it the land of law, was that

everyone was tattooed on their faces

and arms according to rank.

The reason there's such a stigma with

Japanese tattooing is that at some point

in history the Japanese government has

used tattoos to mark criminals.

Obviously this barbaric use of

tattooing immediately associated with criminality.

There's also speculation that people used

larger tattoos to cover those tattoos

so they could hide the fact that

they'd been arrested before.

In Japan today, many people associate

Japanese tattooing with the Japanese mafia.

A lot of this is reinforced by Japanese cinema.

- You know, there's certain places you can't go into.

You can't go into a gym if you have tattoos.

You can't go into certain bath houses if you have tattoos.

So that's still a real thing.

- The body suit is a very striking and

I think one of the most recognizable

aspects of the Japanese tattoo.

Knowing how long that takes and knowing

how much dedication you really respect

that person and what they've committed to

and how much pain they've endured.

They've certainly earned the tattoo.

- [Luke] The goal of anyone doing Japanese is

you want to be doing body suits, back pieces.

If you can do a whole body suit start to finish,

it's really how Japanese tattooing was

meant to be, was one client, one tattooer.

- I think there's a strong significance

and a cultural connection between the usage

of colors in Japanese tattoos and Japanese culture.

Just because you're supposed to be

more reserved in some ways the Japanese

want to keep some things muted and

not so obvious and not so in your face.

- The pallet's pretty simple in Japanese tattooing.

You have bold reds, greens, golds, browns.

It's not too complex.

Heavy in black.

The background is the biggest thing that sets it aside.

With an artist like Horitomo who practices tebori,

the hand tattooing, that technique is very important.

The way he shades with that, you have

a stick, you have some needles lashed to it.

And you use one hand as your fulcrum point

to stretch the skin and then the other hand

would push the needle in.

- The look you get from tebori

you cannot match it with a machine.

It's just much more saturated.

The colors are more vibrant.

It's not going anywhere.

- I grew up looking at Japanese books

and you'd see these tattoo parties where

they'd have their shirts off and eating food

and just enjoying each others

company and enjoying tattoo art.

I started having these ramen tattoo parties,

one I wanted to show my gratitude to clients

that had gotten large amounts of work

from me, body suits, back pieces.

These are the people have allowed me

to express myself and have this life.

You might joke that maybe hot soup is not

the best thing to eat while shirtless,

but when you're with a group of people

with a lot of tattoos you all know

exactly what each others had been through.

And then you can sit there and admire each others tattoos.

And it just shows too how Japanese tattooing

just sort of blends seamlessly with life.

- [Luke] As I've evolved over the years

I think my stuff has even scaled back.

I'm trying to do less tricks and just make things simple.

Make things nice and readable.

And make them so they're gonna last, make them so they're

gonna look great in 50 years.

- I think Japanese tattooing has changed very rapidly.

A lot more work has been published.

A lot of tattooers have traveled.

We also see very good Japanese tattooing

being done by non Japanese nationals.

What we see now are people of all cultures

of all ethnicities that are devoting

their lives to the study of this.

There are some people that sort of bemoan

the loss of when Japanese tattooing was

a little more hidden, was a littler harder to get to.

But I welcome the information age.

That way we can properly document this for

history's sake and share it with the next generation.

Sculpted Seascapes-Polymer Clay & Mixed Media Tutorial - Duration: 10:11.

Hi there, Sandy here.

Welcome to another polymer clay video at KeepsakeCrafts.net.

Today I'm going to show you how you can make molds of found objects and use those molds

to make custom little artworks that you can use as jewelry or home dec.

So here I have a selection of just a few things that you could use to make molds and make

really pretty polymer clay pieces by just impressing those molds into some clay and

then adding decorative elements, such as this one.

This one was a surprise.

The feather turned out to be one of my favorites and I'll show you just how to do this.

It all begins with something that you're going to make an impression of.

It can be something from nature, like shells or feathers or rocks.

I love these little starfish.

It can be something you found, like these metal gears or charms.

You can make a mold of and then use it in an impression to make really nice polymer

clay pendants or pieces for anything you want.

In order to make the molds, I like to use this silicone molding putty.

It comes in two parts and I've done a whole video on using this and I'll have a link to

that in the description box and also you'll find it if you click on the upper right of

the video up here.

There will be a link to my video on molding putty, but basically you mix equal parts of

each of the two different parts, but before you start mixing, you want to make sure you

have your pieces ready.

Now I like to use a smooth ceramic tile to mold my pieces on.

That way I have a nice flat background for my pieces.

I'll give you an example here.

Here are some gears I've prepared for making a mold and because I was afraid they'd slip

around and I kind of wanted them in a particular configuration, I used some repositionable

adhesive.

Just put a bunch down, stuck the gears down and this is what the final mold looks like.

If you're doing anything that is going to be, have a flat backing like the gears or

the little turtle or a starfish, you can just lay those on the tile and that will give you

one kind of look.

There are some things that are three dimensional like this shell and it doesn't have a flat

back and that's going to give you a rather different kind of look.

Here's a mold that I made from this shell and here's the impression I ended up getting

from this shell.

Now here's the impression I ended up getting from the starfish and you can see the difference

here.

The starfish, the clay around it has much more crisp edges and this one, they're kind

of soft and rounded.

Again with the gears which had a flat background, you can see you've got nice crisp edges here

as opposed to a more rounded edge because when I pushed the piece into the molding putty

to make my impression, it pushes it up around the edges here.

And so that's why you have a kind of soft smooth edge.

So I'm going to make a mold of this little turtle because I think he's really cute and

I'm first going to cut off this loop because I don't want that to be part of my mold.

And even though the head isn't perfectly smooth now, I can smooth that out after molding.

Remember, you're molding clay so you can always make adjustments afterwards.

So I'm going to get out one of the parts of molding putty, about half as much as I think

I'll need to cover my piece because remember we're mixing two parts together.

You roll each of them into a ball and then you can compare the sizes and eyeballing it

is fine.

This molding putty doesn't require so much precision.

I've never had it fail even though I've always eyeballed it.

So then you just start mixing it until you end up with a uniform color and you do want

to be kind of quick.

To do all these molds that I've shown you.

I used a rather large chunk and by the time I got to this one, you can see the edges are

a little rugged and wobbly.

It was starting to set up on me.

You can see it's kind of rounded and I have to sort of rock it to get my impression because

it was starting to kick off and set up.

So mix up enough for one or two molds at a time.

You don't want to risk wasting it.

So once you get a uniform color, you want to roll it in your hands and get a really

nice smooth ball.

You don't want any creases because those will just become part of your mold.

And then I've got my piece here and I'm gonna press right down on it.

You don't want to press too hard so that you have a really thin spot, but I'm gonna press

all around so that I have plenty of flat area around it.

And we'll just let that set up.

It takes maybe 15-20 minutes to set up.

You'll be able to tell when you stick your fingernail in and a dent, see I tested that

one, and a dent doesn't stay, then you know it's set up.

So here are a few of the other molds I've made.

You can see there's mostly a beach theme going on here because it's spring here in New England

and I'm so happy for the warm weather to come back.

This is a feather, of course, some steam punk gears, the shells, starfish.

This one was a little disappointing.

I thought it would look really cool to have the tip of this shell showing and have kind

of that spiral pattern, but when you press it, it sort of looks like a nipple.

So not really the look I was going for.

But let me show you how you can use these.

So let's grab one.

I like the starfish one.

Like I said, I like to work on a tile and I have here a nicely conditioned piece of

clay and you want to roll it out into a smooth ball, just like with the putty.

You don't want to have any creases or cracks showing because those will show in your finished

project.

I'm going to flatten it out a little bit, just into sort of a pebble shape.

One thing that looks really nice is just to have a partial impression so have some of

it hanging off.

Then you can put it on your tile and press it down.

You can stand up and press on it.

Well, I like to use an acrylic block and that helps you, especially with the shallower impressions

like the gears or especially the feather.

That helps you to get all the detail.

And well, that's kind of nice.

And remember with the turtle how I pressed the molding putty quite a distance from the

object, from the turtle because I wanted to have a bit of area to work in around it because

where this ends you end up with this kind of soft edge, which is a little thicker, which

is fine.

Once you've reached this point, you can do all sorts of things with it.

This would be pretty with turquoise on the starfish.

I've kind of been using turquoise on everything lately.

And by the way, if you're interested in the supplies I am using, make sure you click on

the little 'i' or the tag in the upper right of the video or the link in the description

box to go to my blog post.

Every video I make has an accompanying blog post where I will always have a complete supply

list and links to products.

That's the question you guys ask me the most so make sure that you click on those places

and find those resources I've put together for you.

So then you can just start playing, adding things, add a stringing hole or not.

This one, I wasn't sure how well the feather was going to come out, but with a very light

touch with the Perfect Pearls on this lavender clay, it's really quite gorgeous.

And you can see how interesting the partial impression looks even though I did impress

the entire feather and then I just picked a couple accent colors and dark and a light

turquoise and some opal clay and just made spirals and swirls and embedded in a bird

charm and shells and things and just made a really, a really pretty piece that you can,

it's just a nice foundation.

You can see how I'm starting to build something similar here.

This one was just the gears and I went over with bronze and copper and green Perfect Pearls

and I could have added other things to this.

Here's our little turtle mold all done and again, I just kind of make a shape that I

like, press that down, use my acrylic block to get a really nice deep impression and let's

see what we've got.

And you know what's awesome?

If you don't like it, you can peel it up and do it again and remember those little bits

of the loop that I clipped off that kind of was still showing.

You can just use, I just use my fingernail.

You could use a ball tool or whatever you have to sculpt those out.

Okay, I'm kind of liking that better than when I first unmolded it.

I wasn't sure.

If you don't like it, like I said, roll it up in a ball and try again with a different

shape, molding your piece into a different part.

That's kind of fun, huh?

So I hope this video has given you some ideas for how you can make impressions of found

or household objects and then make yourself wonderful little polymer clay works of art

with mixed media.

Right After Reporters Asked Trump One Question, Watch All Hell Break Loose In The Whitehouse

President Trump has repeatedly announced that he thinks that Obama surveilled him.

Trump once tweeted that Obama tapped his phones.

He immediately ended an interview after bringing up that Obama surveilled his New York tower.

"It's enough.

Thank you," he told CBS News' John Dickerson after the Face the Nation interviewer asked

him to retract his assertion that Obama is "sick" or "bad" and had him "wiretapped."

Trump then ended the interview by saying: "You can figure that out yourself."

Trump then said the following about Obama: "Well, he was very nice to me,' Trump

told Dickerson.

'But after that, we've had some difficulties.

So it doesn't matter.

You know, words are less important to me than deeds.

And you – you saw what happened with surveillance.

And everybody saw what happened with surveillance."

Dickerson then asked about what Trump was talking about.

"Well, you saw what happened with surveillance.

And I think that was inappropriate," he said.

*** SHARE THIS if you believe that Trump should put Obama in jail for the horrible thing that

he did to him!

We cannot let this drop.

Trump was wiretapped and Obama got away with murder.

"I Felt Like Vomiting," Ben Stein Crushes Liberal 'Comedians' At White House Correspondence Dinner - Duration: 2:32.

"I Felt Like Vomiting," Ben Stein Crushes Liberal 'Comedians' At White House Correspondence

Dinner

Economist, speech writer and actor Ben Stein commented on the appalling anti-Trump speeches

at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

He started by going after "The Daily Show's" Hasan Minhaj.

"I thought what Mr. Minhaj said was sickening.

Frankly, I felt like vomiting, and I couldn't watch it for very long.

I think it's stunning to belittle and attack and mock a president at such a base and villainous

level, and to describe him as a Soviet agent and 'liar-in-chief,' especially to the

media," said Stein.

"The media is not his enemy.

He has cleverly made the media his main ally, and the media is laughing as if they think

they're somebody great and holy and neutral and above it all.

But they're not above it all," said Stein.

"[The media] are a sharp instrument of the left in this country, but Trump has managed

to turn it on its head and make them the bad guys out there in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin

and places he was never expected to win.

They're laughing, but they should be laughing at themselves, not laughing at him.

I am not a big fan of Trump.

But even Nixon was not held up to the same level of ridicule, mockery, and vicious attacks

than Trump is.

They just don't give the guy a break," said Stein.

"Every day you pick up the New York Times.

And every day they're slamming, slamming, slamming him.

I'm a great fan of CNN.

But CNN is slamming him, slamming him, slamming him.

Every day they are looking for a scandal.

They are turning the woods upside down looking for a scandal — and they still haven't

found any real scandals," said Stein.
