Our car is built completely new, because we destroyed it last year at Waldviertel.
We worked 5 months on it now and finished it last week.
So we couldn't test it before the rally. Now we have a hard test in wet conditions.
When it dries out tomorrow I have some experience and it may be easier than today
But the rain today is not bad, so I get to know such conditions
We already got used to those conditions by saying: go a bit slower where it is slippery
My car is a stock VW Lupo GTI. 125 Horsepower. 1600 ccm.
Completely overpowered ;-)
Front-wheel drive, short wheelbase
But it is working quite good, I like my car.
For me it is special here because I really like this region and these stages here
Last year I was here as a spectator and now I am driving here. This is great!
Your team appearance with the same design on all cars is quite unique.
What was the idea behind that team design?
The reason is a little bit, that we all are just beginners now...
and we can't show off with fast times. We still have to get better.
So we thought with at least a proper team appearance we get recognized
Now we are improving from rally to rally
We think it will get better and better.
It is a lot of fun and that is what's most important!
You had a little off-road moment this morning
How did that feel from the drivers' perpective?
Yes... It was a little bit close for a moment
It was obviously too fast
We found an emergency solution over the grass
I'm glad we didn't get further off-road
Now you have the biggest jump in Austria ahead this afternoon
How do you approach that jump to get as high as possible?
We can only lose there at the first time...
when we are too slow everybody is disappointed
but when we jump very far and destroy something it is even more ridiculous
we will do something in between, we won't go flatout for sure
It is not easy to guess the right line there
You must have been jumping there 2-3 times to know how to do it
The others tell me, when you have done it 2-3 times it is no problem anymore
But at the first time we have to get the direction right at the takeoff point
And we don't know how the Subaru is behaving when jumping
It would be a pity if we destroy something
