My passion for cars started since I was a little kid

Since I remember

I had my first car at 18 years old

In 2006

I bought my Fiesta 1.4tdci

Wich I

Started to modifing it

Exterior mods like lowering and wheels

And then I found

That existed

A model

That was the best Fiesta, wich was the fiesta ST

With that I started to look for St parts

Then I discovered that there isn't any parts

Because it dind't sold very well

There are only 3 national ones and 1 imported

Since then, I tried

To look for those 3 cars

I found those three cars

And I waited

Searching everyday in OLX and other pages

If I ever could find one of them

In that time

I've created a dream

I fell in love with that model

with the wheels that I already got

Wich is exactly how the car is now

There are only a few details that I have to do

It's still in development

2 years ago

It appeard on olx

There was an St for sale

And I din't waited

I called the guy and made the deal

And I am the owner of this Ford Fiesta St

I didn't care about the value

Because it was the car that I ever wanted

And it was the car that catched my eye

And since then I fought to have that car

It was very hard

Because it was a lot of years

And I thought that that car

would never be mine

Because it was impossible

Of three cars in Portugal

That one be mine or even find it for sale

Import one was out of question

Because to me, the national was more value

And it was basically it

Today I have the two cars

In my own taste

And it is a dream come true

I dind't did many mods to the St

It was basically

Lowering the car

I installed some angel eyes headlights

I already had the cosworth wheels

but didn't had the car

Because for m, that was a dream

That had to be realized even not knowing how

I already had the wheels at home I'm only missing the center caps

And the car it's basically it

The car itself

Is as it is In almost his original form

it was H&R coilovers

Cosworth wheels

Angel eyes headlights

And that's it

I liked to do more modifications to it

but

At the same time I don't because i don't want to mess with it

It may have history one day

Because it's a rare car

Shadow People What Are They ? Ghosts? Interdimensional Beings? - Duration: 8:24.

Shadow People. What Are They? Ghosts? Interdimensional Beings? Time Travelers? Or Something Else?

THERE�S A GROWING INTEREST IN THE PHENOMENON OF SHADOW PEOPLE. WHAT ARE THEY? GHOSTS? INTERDIMENSIONAL

BEINGS? TIME TRAVELERS? SOMETHING ELSE?

�WHAT WAS THAT?� You were sitting comfortably on your sofa reading the latest issue of FATE

in the dim light when movement across the room caught your attention. It seemed dark

and shadowy, but there was nothing there. You returned to your reading � and a moment

later there it was again.

You looked up quickly this time and saw the fleeting but distinctly human shape of the

shadow pass quickly over the far wall� and disappear.

What was that? Some natural shadow? Your heightened imagination? A ghost? Or was it something

that seems to be a spreading phenomenon � apparitions that are coming to be known as �shadow people�

or �shadow beings.� Perhaps this is an old phenomenon with a new name that is now

being discussed more openly, in part thanks to the Internet. Or maybe it�s a phenomenon

that, for some reason, is manifesting with greater frequency and intensity now.

Those who are experiencing and studying the shadow people phenomenon say that these entities

almost always used to be seen out of the corner of the eye and very briefly. But more and

more, people are beginning to see them straight on and for longer periods of time. Some experiencers

testify that they have even seen eyes, usually red, on these shadow beings.

The mysterious sightings have become a hot topic of conversion in paranormal chat rooms,

message boards and websites, and it is given widespread attention on paranormal talk radio.

What are shadow people and where do they come from? Several theories have been offered.

THE IMAGINATION

The explanation we get from skeptics and mainstream science � and who are usually people who

have never experienced the shadow people phenomenon � is that it is nothing more than the active

human imagination.

It�s our minds playing tricks on us� our eyes seeing things in a fraction of a second

that aren�t really there � illusions� real shadows caused by passing auto headlights,

or some similar explanation. And without a doubt, these explanations probably can account

for some if not many experiences. The human eye and mind are easily fooled. But can they

account for all cases?

GHOSTS

To call these entities ghosts demands first a definition of what we mean by ghosts. But

by almost any definition, shadow people are somewhat different than ghost phenomena. Whereas

ghost apparitions are almost always a misty white, vapor-like or have a decidedly human

form and appearance (very often with discernible �clothing�), shadow beings are much darker

and more shadow-like. In general, although the shadow people often do have a human outline

or shape, because they are dark, the details of their appearance is lacking. This is in

contrast to many ghost sightings in which the witness can describe the ghost�s facial

features, style of clothing and other details. The one detail most often noted in some shadow

being sightings are their glowing red eyes.

DEMONS OR OTHER SPIRIT ENTITIES

The dark countenance and malevolent feelings that are often reported in association with

these creatures has led some researchers to speculate that they may be demonic in nature.

If they are demons, we have to wonder what their purpose or intent is in letting themselves

be seen in this manner. Is it merely to frighten?

ASTRAL BODIES

One interesting idea suggests that shadow people are the shadows or essences of people

who are having out-of-body experiences. According to Jerry Gross, an author, lecturer and teacher

about astral travel, we all travel out of the body when we are asleep. Perhaps, this

theory says, we are seeing the ephemeral astral bodies of these twilight travelers.

TIME TRAVELERS

People from our own future, another idea states, could have found the means to travel to the

past � our time.

However they are able to accomplish this incredible feat, perhaps in that state they appear to

us merely as passing shadows as they observe the events of our timeline.

INTERDIMENSIONAL BEINGS

Even mainstream science is fairly convinced that there are dimensions other than the three

we inhabit. And if these other dimensions exist, who or what (if anything) inhabits

them? Some theorists say that these dimensions exist parallel and very close to our own,

although invisible to us. And if there are inhabitants in these other dimensions, it

is possible that they have found a way to intrude on our dimension and become, at least

partially, visible? If so, they could very well appear as shadows. It has long been held

by psychics and other sensitives that beings on other planes of existence are of different

�vibrations.� Science is beginning to look at reality, on a quantum level, in the

same way � that particles of the smallest size exist as vibrations.

Perhaps, some theorize, the vibrations of our existence are beginning to mesh with those

of another dimension, which accounts for the increase in such phenomena as ghosts, shadow

people and possibly aliens.

ALIENS

The alien and abduction phenomena are so bizarre that it�s no surprise that extraterrestrials

are suspects as the shadow people.

Abductees have reported in many cases that the alien grays seem to be able to pass through

walls and closed windows, and to appear and disappear abruptly, among other otherworldly

talents. Perhaps, too, they can go about their alien agenda disguised in the shadows.

There�s a good deal of overlapping among the above ideas, of course. Aliens and ghosts

could be interdimensional beings, or aliens could be time travelers � and some believe

demons are responsible for all of these disturbing phenomena.

CONCLUSION

There is no way to prove or disprove any theories about a phenomenon that is so mysterious,

that happens so quickly and without warning. Science finds it virtually impossible to catalog

or study such phenomena in any methodical way. All we can do, at present, is to document

personal experiences and try to piece together what the shadow people phenomenon might be.

Perhaps it�s an old mystery becoming more recognizable� perhaps it represents a doorway

to and from different planes of existence� or perhaps it�s just shadows.

13 GAUNTLETS COMBOS/STRINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW - GAUNTLET RUSSIAN MAFIA - Brawlhalla - Duration: 7:09.

DLight into Slight is a true combo, meaning there's no dodge window.

It works at all range and damages because Dlight on gauntlets has zero variable force

which means that damage doesn't increase the push back distance so the damage doesn't

affect the combo at all.

It has very high follow up potential and leads to many advanced combos that will be shown

later in the video.

It's one of the easiest and most rewarding combo in the game.

Dlight into recovery is a true combo.

It works at all range and damages because of the dlight zero variable force.

You don't really want to use this combo unless you can knock the enemy out with it

though, because it has very low follow up potential and it's easier to mess up dlight

into recovery than dlight into slight.

The trick to getting this to work is to jump right after dlight then dodge forward and

recovery at about the same time.

Just to emphasize, you can press dodge and recovery at the same time, but you have to

press jump before dodge and recovery or the combo might mess up.

This is why I would only use it at 180+ damage which is at a solid red color.

Dlight into sair is a true combo.

It works at far range when the enemy is 50 damage and up.

It works at all ranges when the enemy is 100 damage and up.

Some of you might be thinking, I thought Dlight has zero variable force so damage doesn't

affect the range.

Normally you would be right, but gauntlet down light is a special exception.

Why is it an exception you ask?

Good question, I don't know, it's a rebel.

It has low follow up potential so it should only be used when the enemy is at the edge

and they're decently damaged so that you can push them off the platform and possibly

get an edge guard knock out off.

DLight into nair is a true combo.

It works at all range and damages just like how a normal gauntlet dlight combo usually

works.

It has great follow up potential as in you can follow it up with just about anything

but I'm only going to show you the two follow ups you need to know.

But first, this combo is pretty hard to do so here are some tips.

Holding forward the whole combo makes the forward dodge easier.

You should ideally press jump, dodge and then nair in that order very quickly right after

each other otherwise you'll dodge in the wrong direction or dodge too early.

If you have aim up and jump on the same button then the combo will be very hard.

Check out my keyboard settings video to see how you can fix it.

This a pretty slow string that relies on the enemy jumping immediately after getting knocked

off the platform which then leaves them with only one jump and makes edge guarding them

pretty easy.

It technically works at any range until you knock them out with the nair but the farther

they're sent down, the slower it'll be.

It's a pretty cheesy string that could get you a very early gimp, which is a knock out

by preventing the enemy from recovering to the platform.

The second follow up to the dlight nair is a true combo with recovery.

It works from 0-140 damage at any range.

It has pretty low follow up potential.

It's very similar to the hammer russian mafia but it only knocks out only on some

maps even at the highest damage and it works starting from zero damage which makes it a

lot more suitable for building up damage than being a knock out combo.

6.5 There're a lot of combos and strings you can do starting with nair but I find that

you only need to know two of them because they cover most of the situations.

The first one is nair into dair which is a true combo.

It works from 0 to 120 damage when you land nair at around max jump height.

It can also work if you land it near the ground but then you have to jump and it also only

works at lower damages so I wouldn't worry about that because the next combo will cover

that range.

This combo has low follow up potential.

The trick to getting this combo off easily is to be moving forward while you nair so

that you can be on top of the enemy after it ends which sets up for the dair.

The second follow up to nair is recovery which is a true combo.

It works from 0-100 damage at mid single jump height as well as near ground.

You don't have to jump after landing nair at mid jump height but you have to jump if

you land nair near ground or else you can't recovery otherwise.

You can still use this combo as a very quick string up until 150 damage if you ChD before

you use recovery.

This combo has low follow up potential.

Next, I will show all the Slight follow ups that I think you need to know.

Note that they can all be started with DLight as well but the important thing about them

is that you have to land a grounded SLight so I will keep it simple and start with SLight

instead of DLight.

SLight into recovery is a very quick string.

It works at all range and damages because it also has zero variable force like dlight

does.

It has low follow up potential which is why it should mostly be used at red damage when

it is possible to knock out the enemy with it.

It can follow up into nair or dair for a slow string at 0-60 damage.

You always have to jump during the dair follow up but for nair, you don't have to jump

at the lower damages and you do have to jump at the higher damages.

Slight into nair is a quick string.

It works at all range and damages.

It has great follow up potential which is why it's often used more than the recovery

follow up.

I will show the two follow ups that I like to use the most.

(change first audio) This is a quick string.

It works from 0 to 120 damage at all ranges.

It has little follow up potential.

It's very simple to use and easiest to pick up when starting out on gauntlets but it's

rarely used by more experienced gauntlet users since it only hits three times consistently.

This is a quick five hit string that is hard to jump out of.

It works from 0 to 100 damage at all ranges.

It has decent follow up potential which could lead to fast kills especially because it ends

up pushing the enemy off stage most of the time.

In fact, this string has the highest potential to lead to a zero to death situation because

it builds up a lot of damage and ends up throwing the enemy below the stage.

If you can get some good reads after the ground pound, it could give you a very fast stock

lead out of no where.

Note that most of the time, you won't be to jump before ground pounding because the

enemy will be thrown off the platform after nair, but in the rare case that they aren't,

you would need to jump into ground pound.

That's it for my list of must know gauntlet combos, this list obviously doesn't cover

all the different strings gauntlets can do since pretty much every move on gauntlets

is a string starter.

I'm just showing the ones everyone should know, if you want super mega advanced 0 to

death, 3000 hit strings, then look up Dopameme gauntlet combos on youtube.

He shows a lot of them in his video.

every day are you working towards it?

how does the achievement of your goal affect you?

affect your family, affect the ones around you

would you take it?

could you handle it?

are you prepared for it?

are you prepared for all the change it's gonna bring because

when we want more out of life

we get more of everything

we get more money

we get more impact, more influence

we also get more problems

more criticisms

more conflict, more controversy

people doubting you, people telling you you're not ready

people saying that you're not the person to be doing this kind of work

people saying that you're not the real deal

there comes doubt with that

and of course doubt within yourself and doubt from other people

who are very close to you

are you ready for that? Because it's coming

have you built the relationships that can help you get through the storm?

do you have the systems in place

the personal, the business, the emotional systems in place

to help you see yourself through the storm

because most of the time when you're going after what you want

most people will not be able to relate to you because they're not doing that

most people are going for what's right there in front of them, most people are playing it safe

most people aren't chasing anything down

but you are

you've decided to

you know that there's something more, you actually look forward

to putting something in front of you

because that keeps you driving forward

if you want something

nobody has the right

to talk you out of it, if you want something you

go out and get it

WELL, THE HARDEST THING ABOUT A SITUATION LIKE THAT IS SEEING

THE DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES THAT PEOPLE ARE IN, BUT THE GREAT

THING ABOUT IT IS BEING ABLE TO DO SOMETHING TO CHANGE

THEIR LIVES.

WELL, WHAT WE WERE ABLE TO DO IN CAMBODIA WAS TO OPEN A FEEDING

SITE AND AN EDUCATION SITE FOR CHILDREN THERE SO THEY COULD GET

OUT OF THAT TRASH DUMP AND MAKE THEIR LIVES SO MUCH BETTER.

SO, WHEN WE MET GEE, WE WERE SO EXCITED

BECAUSE SHE WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET INTO THIS PROGRAM.

WELL, THEN WHEN IT WAS TIME A LITTLE WHILE LATER TO GO BACK

TO CAMBODIA, WE WERE SO EXCITED TO SEE HOW GEE WAS DOING,

AND I WAS JUST DEVASTATED.

I WAS CRUSHED BECAUSE WHEN WE FOUND HER, SHE HAD NOT BEEN

IN THE PROGRAM.

HER PARENTS REFUSED TO LET HER GO.

AND FOR ME, IT WAS ONE OF THOSE TIMES THAT I JUST DID NOT

UNDERSTAND WHAT GOD WAS DOING, WHY LIFE HAD TO BE SO HARD,

WHY IT WAS THAT WAY.

I REMEMBER JUST GETTING IN THE VAN AND EVERYBODY HAD

SUCH A HARD TIME WHO WAS ON OUR CREW DEALING WITH IT.

AND I JUST BROKE DOWN CRYING, JUST HEARTBROKEN TO SEE WHAT

SHE WAS STILL DEALING WITH WHEN I HAD SUCH HOPE THAT

SHE WOULD BE BETTER.

AND GOD TALKED TO ME VERY STRONGLY AT THAT TIME THAT

THIS LIFE IS HARD AND THAT NOT EVERYTHING WORKS OUT THE WAY

THAT WE WANT IT TO, BUT WE SHOULD NEVER GET DISCOURAGED

IN TRYING TO HELP PEOPLE.

WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE A FEELING OF THERE IS NO HOPE,

BECAUSE WITH CHRIST, THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE.

AND TIME AFTER TIME, WE MAY SEE DISAPPOINTMENT,

BUT ONE OF THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES IS GOING TO CHANGE EVERYTHING

FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

riding about 50 kilometers per day

for a total of 14 days.

But it won't be just riding.

and see some cool stuff.

Could Water Survive on the Closest Exoplanet? - Duration: 5:06.

When we talk about planets around other stars, it's often by comparing them to the worlds

in our own Solar System — like when you hear about a hot Jupiter or an Earth-like

planet.

But sometimes things don't fit into those boxes so neatly.

Like HAT-P-26b, an exoplanet about 437 light-years away that orbits a star a little smaller than

the Sun.

In a paper published last week in the journal Science, astronomers studying the planet's

atmosphere discovered that this world is pretty different from what we're used to: it's

a Neptune-sized planet, but it looks more like Jupiter, and it orbits closer to its

star than Mercury does to the Sun.

They're calling it a warm Neptune, but it probably didn't form the same way as our

Neptune.

Instead of forming far from its star, this planet probably formed closer in and later

on.

HAT-P-26b is an example of a transiting exoplanet, meaning that you can see it pass in front

of its star.

And as it passes by, light from the star travels through the planet's atmosphere on its way

to Earth.

Each atom and molecule leaves a signature in that light, so by studying how the starlight

changes, researchers can figure out what's in the exoplanet's atmosphere.

HAT-P-26b is an especially good planet to study this way, because it's … kind of

fluffy?

It has less than half of Earth's gravity, which means it doesn't have such a strong

hold on its atmosphere, so the atmosphere extends pretty far above the planet's surface.

And a more stretched-out atmosphere will have more of an effect on the parent star's light.

The researchers found that this planet's atmosphere has lots of water vapor, but not too many

clouds — and the clouds it does have are probably made of molecules with sulfur in

them.

They were also able to calculate the planet's metallicity.

Astronomers call any element that isn't hydrogen or helium a metal, so when they talk about

metallicity, they're really just looking at how much heavier stuff there is.

They usually measure it relative to the Sun.

Here's where HAT-P-26b gets weird:

Uranus and Neptune have close to 100 times the metallicity of the Sun.

But HAT-P-26b -- which, remember, is similar in size to Neptune -- has a metallicity of

4.8, much closer to Jupiter's!

This suggests that the planet probably formed closer to its star than Neptune did in our

solar system, where there isn't as much of those heavier elements.

After it formed, the planet probably migrated to where it is today.

HAT-P-26b isn't the only exoplanet catching the attention of scientists right now.

There's also been a lot of buzz about Proxima Centauri b, the planet orbiting our nearest

stellar neighbor just four light-years from Earth.

When it was first discovered last year, scientists calculated that it should lie within the habitable

zone, the region of space where the temperature is just right for liquid water to survive

on the surface.

And in a paper published this week in Astronomy & Astrophysics, researchers concluded that

liquid water is even more likely to be able to survive on Proxima Centauri b is than we

thought.

Since life as we know it needs liquid water to evolve, knowing whether liquid water could

exist on Proxima Centauri b gets us one step closer to figuring out if it's a good place

to look for alien life.

Calculations like this are performed by simulating the planet's atmosphere using what are called

global climate models, or GCMs.

Because each model makes different assumptions and approximates physics in different ways,

two GCMs can often generate pretty different answers.

But in this case, the new results match incredibly well with what astronomers have found previously.

The team set up the model using what we know about the physical characteristics of Proxima

Centauri b, like its radius, then ran a bunch of simulations to try out different scenarios.

They ran one set of simulations assuming the planet's atmosphere is a lot like Earth's,

with a bunch of nitrogen and oxygen and small amounts of other chemicals.

They also ran another set based on a much simpler atmosphere that was almost entirely

nitrogen with just a bit of carbon dioxide mixed in.

For both categories, they also used a range of parameters corresponding to a bunch of

slightly different orbits for Proxima Centauri b.

They wanted to look at a lot of different orbits because we still don't know exactly

what path the planet takes around its star or how fast it rotates.

And those differences would affect conditions on the planet.

In many of these simulations, the calculated surface temperature would mean liquid water

could flow across the planet's surface.

In fact, it seems more likely that liquid water could survive on Proxima Centauri b

than it did from the set of simulations published last year.

Since water is so important for life, this makes the planet seem like a great place to

look for alien life.

But one thing the authors didn't try to account for is the violent nature of the planet's

parent star, Proxima Centauri.

It's what astronomers call an M dwarf, a class of stars much smaller and cooler than

our Sun.

M dwarfs have super active surfaces and emit giant solar flares way more often than the

Sun.

Combine that with the fact that the planet orbits much closer to its star than any world

in our Solar System and you have a recipe for a pretty bad day.

Some previous studies have suggested that all this intense radiation would destroy many

of the most critical molecules in the Earth's atmosphere.

Without stuff like ozone, DNA would have been damaged beyond repair long before life managed

to fully evolve.

Still, at least the liquid water piece of the puzzle seems to be in place for Proxima

Centauri b.

So astronomers aren't going to give up on the idea of searching for life on the planet

just yet.

With all of this in mind, Pixar has three sequels on the horizon and one original film in the pipeline

Not the best ratio of comfortable to edgy, but animated movies take a very long time to produce, and can be a risk

Expect Pixar's slate to stay set in stone, and we'll continue to add features as

the animation giant looks beyond 2019 and greenlights -- hopefully original -- new ideas

Ka-chow! Lightning McQueen and the Radiator Springs gang get a second chance at success after

the unfocused Cars 2 limply spoofed the spy genre and put too much focus on goofy side character Tow Mater (Larry the Cable Guy)

Cars is a merchandising machine for Pixar, so you knew the studio wouldn't leave these characters on the shelf for too long

Not when they belong on the toy store shelf, where kids can grab new versions of classic characters

From what we can tell, the new story will center back on Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson),

who's now a veteran race care driver -- and not the rookie he was in the first film -- taking place in

race around America with a new protégé named Cruz Ramirez and a new antagonist named Jackson Storm

Hungry for something original from Pixar Animation Studios?

Then feast your eyes on Coco, because it's going to be the last original story we see from the creators for a little while

To be fair, Pixar did recently deliver both Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur, though only one of those likely will stand the test of time

As for Coco, it comes to us from Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich, and it will follow a 12-year-old boy named Miguel

who triggers a centuries-old mystery that may reunite him with lost family members

This is the project inspired by Mexico's Day of the Dead that Pixar has been working on for years

While Pixar is sequel happy, the one sequel fans have been clamoring for has eluded them... until now

Brad Bird's The Incredibles didn't really re-invent the superhero genre, but it took everything that we tend to love about it and practically perfected it

We were introduced to a family of super-powered beings, who had to fight to prove to the world why they are still relevant,

then band together to stop an evil villain who was born of his own superhero infatuation

The themes of The Incredibles resonate, even today

Bird didn't rush into a sequel, even though the final scene in his first movie set up the next natural story

Instead, we're getting The Incredibles 2 in 2018, with (we assume) most of the original cast back

Bird has been mum on the details up to this point, so stay tuned

But we know that it's coming... and earlier than expected!

You've got a friend in the Toy Story gang... but after the spectacular emotional finale that came with Toy Story 3,

is it wise to re-open the toy box for a fourth Toy Story?

At this point, it's safe to assume that creator John Lasseter wouldn't risk the reputation of the Gold Standard Pixar series

series just to grab more cash from fans of Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen)

Right? We have heard that Toy Story 4 will be a romance, but we don't necessarily know between who

The Toy Story franchise has remained relevant in the years following Toy Story 3

as Disney and Pixar put the famous characters in short stories and prime-time television programs

We expect fans to flock back to theaters for Toy Story 4,

but we're really anxious to find out what the story in this latest Toy Story will be about

BREAKING: Fox News Abruptly Fires Bob Beckel After Racist Comment - Duration: 1:48.

The Five" host Bob Beckel has been terminated by Fox News for reportedly making an "insensitive

remark to an African-American employee."

CNN reports:

"Bob Beckel was terminated today for making an insensitive remark to an African-American

employee," a network spokesperson said in a short statement.

It wasn't immediately clear who would replace Beckel on "The Five" and Fox News did

not provide details on the incident that led to his firing.

Beckel was not immediately available for comment.

Variety reported:

Fox News' human resources department was made aware of a complaint about what one person

familiar with the situation characterized as a "racially insensitive remark" on

Tuesday evening.

Executives conducted an internal investigation, this person said, and decided to part ways

with Beckel Friday morning.

Douglas Wigdor, an attorney who represents several current and former employees who have

alleged racial discrimination at Fox News in a lawsuit, said he is representing the

employee who complained about Beckel.

In a statement, Wigdor alleged Beckel "stormed out of his office" when an African-American

information-technology employee came to service his computer, "telling our client that he

was leaving his office because he was black."

Wigdor alleged Fox News executives tried to get the employee to withdraw the complaint.

"As with our other 22 clients, we intend on holding 21st Century Fox accountable for

these actions and will be filing multiple other complaints in other matters next week,"

Wigdor said.

Today in Military History: 5/19 - Mexican American War ends - Duration: 1:02.

- Today in military history, 1848,

Mexico ratifies the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo,

thus ending the Mexican American War.

The war began over territory disputes in what was then

the Republics of Texas, Nuevo Mexico, and Alta California.

After two years of fighting, Mexico surrendered,

and peace talks began.

As part of the treaty, the United States paid Mexico

15 million dollars in exchange for all or parts of

present-day Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada,

New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, and Texas.

Adjusting for inflation,

that's almost a third of the continental United States

for about what LaLa Land earned at the box office.

Though, it did indeed expand US territories, it re-ignited

the tension over free and slaveholding states,

and contributed to the cause of the Civil War

just 12 years later.

AUTHORS I WANT TO MEET! - Duration: 5:47.

Hi everyone, it's sandy and in today's

video, I'm going to be talking about all

the authors that I would love to meet.

Before I get started, I do want to

mention that I am lucky enough to have

been able to attend a handful of book

signings and book events such as BEA and

BookCon that has allowed me to meet so

many amazing authors so if you're

wondering why I didn't mention a

specific author and you know that I love

that author, and then there may be a good

chance that I've already met them. Also,

this list is in no particular order,

but the first author that I'm going to

be talking about is Angie Thomas, the

author of The Hate U Give. The Hate U

Give has been on the New York Times

bestselling list ever since it came out

and it deserves all the praise and I

just want to meet the author behind that

phenomenal book. I read that book last

month and it has become a new favorite of

mine. This is a book I know that I will

reread in the future and I think it's so

important and relevant to our society

today. The next author I would love to

meet is Brandon Sanderson. He is the author

of Mistborn and The Reckoners and so

many other books but those two series I

had mentioned are the series that I've

actually read and I definitely plan on

reading all of his books in my lifetime.

I think Brandon Sanderson does an

amazing job with world-building. The

plots in all his books are just so

intricate and so well thought out.

Brandon Sanderson actually came to

Chicago a few times but the timing or

the location of his events just didn't

work out for me so I haven't had a

chance to meet him even though I really

want to. The third author is Suzanne Collins,

author of The Hunger Games, which is one

of my all-time favorite trilogies. I

would really love to meet her, talk to

her about The Hunger Games and how much that

book has just changed my life. She is a

very successful author and I want to

know if she's working on anything

because I haven't heard from her in a

really long time. I don't think she's on

Twitter either so I don't know what

she's doing in her life

but I'm very curious and I would love to

meet her, get my books signed, take a

picture, and be able to brag about how

I've met Suzanne Collins, but honestly I

don't see that happening anytime soon

but I would definitely love to meet

Suzanne Collins. The next author is

Jennifer Lynn Barnes. She is the author

of The Naturals and The Fixer. I've read

the entire Natural series and I love it.

It's one of my favorite like mystery-

thriller books. I haven't read The Fixer yet

but I definitely plan on doing it this summer.

Several months ago, I was like non-stop

talking about that series

but since I finished that series I've

definitely toned down the amount of

times that I talked about it but that

series was definitely one of my

favorites. Her stories are definitely

very plot driven and she does not fail

to surprise you so her books are pretty

unpredictable in my opinion. What I think

is really cool about this author is that

she's a psychology and writing professor

at a university and I would love to be

in one of her classes. She talked about

on Twitter how she has like a YA

fiction class and I would love to be in

that class. I wish my university offered

something like that because I would sign

up for that class in a heartbeat. Since

she does write books that kind of deal

with like psychology and serial killing

she definitely has like the background

to do so and I think that is something

that definitely stands out when you read

her books. If you know that she's a

professor of psychology, then you know

that some of the things she talks about

in the Natural series is something that

she knows about and that she has

researched about and I just think that's

really awesome.

The next author is Rick Riordan. He is

the author of Percy Jackson and the

Heroes of Olympus and a couple other

series that I haven't read yet. I

honestly don't have much to say about

Rick Riordan but I definitely would want

to meet him. I really enjoyed the Heroes

of Olympus series and the fact that

Percy Jackson has a musical in New York

that I would love to see. I know that

some people refer to Rick Riordan

as like their cool uncle or something

like that, which I don't really get since

I'm not like super deep into the Percy

Jackson fandom but that just makes Rick

Riordan seem like a cool guy so I would

definitely really want to meet him. The

next author is kind of a cheat because

technically I have met him but this

author is Adam Silvera.

He wrote More Happy Than Not and

History Is All You Left Me and the reason

why that this is a cheat is because

technically I have met him. I met him at

BEA but the reason that I'm

including him in this list is because

when I met him, I haven't read any of his

books, so I had no idea what to say when

I met him and I would love to meet him

again and tell him how much I love his

books and how much I think he's a

fantastic author and when I met him, he

was just so nice. I'm pretty sure he knew

that I haven't read any of his books but

he was able to keep a conversation going

with me and I really appreciate it

when authors make the attempt to do that.

All the authors I've met are pretty nice

but sometimes like the conversation dies

down after I tell them how much I love

their books but Adam Silvera genuinely

seems like a really nice, cool person and

I would love to hang out with him.

I know that Adam Silvera is really

good friends with Emma from emmmabooks

and Michael from Michael BookLion and

he just seems like a really cool guy

and I would just love to spend a day

hanging out and talking to him. So the

next two authors I really want to meet

are a pair and they are Jay Kristoff and Amie

Kaufman. And again, this is a little bit

cheating because technically, I have met

Jay Kristoff at BEA last year. So the

story behind this is that Jay Kristoff

was just walking around BEA. He wasn't

doing any like formal signing. He was

just walking around and people were

going up to him and talking to him and

taking pictures and when I was waiting

in line to get the Gemina arc, Jay

Kristoff walked by so obviously I had to

go and say hi to him, took a picture with

him, which I will show right here. As you

can see, I'm a really short person but he

was so nice and I just want to meet him

with Amie Kaufman and tell them how much

I love Illuminae and Gemina. The

Illuminae Files is one of my favorite

series and I am so excited for the third

book, which the release date was pushed

back to 2018 which makes me sad but I

know it's going to be worth it.
