Waching daily Feb 8 2017

After seeing the enormous backlash from the White House over Melissa McCarthy's portrayal

of Sean Spicer, Rosie O'Donnell decided she wanted to get in on the action, undercut the

administration a little bit more.

She has actually offered up her services to portray Steve Bannon on Saturday Night Live,

if NBC elects to do that.

What's great about this is that the reason the White House was so mad about Melissa McCarthy

playing Sean Spicer is because Melissa McCarthy, as you know, is a woman, and Sean Spicer is

a man.

They had a woman play a man.

Rosie O'Donnell wants to do the same thing to Steve Bannon to embarrass the administration

and show them that nobody is above parody and ridicule.

As long as you're not saying anything blasphemous or libelous, you can parody people.

In fact the rules for libel are actually a lot lower for parody and satire, which is

what Saturday Night Live is.

So Rosie O'Donnell playing Steve Bannon would be a tremendous, really slap in the face to

the White House who cannot stand anyone making fun of them, a group that cannot stand anyone

thinking that they're weak.

They still have to go further.

Saturday Night Live needs to portray everyone in the Trump administration as the opposite

gender or with the opposite gender.

Not as, but with.

Perhaps get a man to play Kellyanne Conway, get a woman to play Donald Trump and Jeff

Sessions.

That would get under their skin so much, and that's what they deserve.

When you look at all of the damage that the Trump administration is actually causing to

this country right now, dismantling federal agencies, not allowing them to talk to the

press or to the public.

They're out there making up phony terrorist attacks that never happened just to support

their racist bigoted Muslim ban.

They deserve ridicule.

They are ripe for it.

Given that we have seen how strongly they react to this ridicule, it only makes people

want to do it more.

You know, I guess Donald Trump's parents never explained to him when he was a kid that the

way to stop a bully is to stop paying attention.

Of course, they probably never had to explain that to him because Trump was the bully, and

he still is.

You can think what you want about playing tit for tat here, but when you're dealing

with a bully like Donald Trump, the best way to do it is to give them a piece of their

own medicine.

That's what Rosie O'Donnell wants to do.

That's what Melissa McCarthy did.

Hopefully, that is what Saturday Night Live will continue to do.

Using ChromeVox on your Chromebook: Fundamentals - Duration: 13:53.

LAURA PALMARO: I'm Laura, and I'm on the Chrome accessibility team at Google.

In this video, I'm going to show you the basic steps for navigating your Chromebook

using the ChromeVox screen reader.

After this video, you should know enough about ChromeVox to read web pages, explore your

screen, and find additional resources.

If you've used the previous version of ChromeVox, now known as ChromeVox Classic, you'll find

some things have changed.

For the biggest differences, in the new version, which was officially released in Chrome version

56, be sure to watch our introductory video about transitioning between the two versions.

For reference, Chrome 56 reached the stable channel at the end of January 2017.

For this video, though, you don't need any prior experience with ChromeVox. So let's

get started.

ChromeVox comes built into every Chrome OS device, so there's nothing to install. All

you need to do to turn on the screen reader is hold down Control and Alt, and press the

letter Z (as in zebra).

For reference, there are two sets of Control and Alt keys on your Chromebook keyboard.

On the bottom left of your keyboard, they are the two keys to the left of your spacebar.

Smaller versions are also found directly to the right of the spacebar, before you reach

the arrow keys.

I'll go ahead and turn ChromeVox on now.

CHROMEVOX: ChromeVox spoken feedback is ready.

LAURA: By the way, this same shortcut, Control + Alt + Z also turns ChromeVox off. But I'll

leave it on for now, otherwise this video wouldn't be very helpful.

If you don't hear ChromeVox when you first turn it on, make sure that your speakers or

headphones are plugged in and turned on. If you still don't hear anything, check that

the volume is up on your Chromebook.

The quickest way to do this is to press the volume up key located second from the right

at the top of the keyboard.

Now let's talk about basic navigation. The search key on your Chromebook keyboard is

what we call the ChromeVox modifier key. It works in combination with other keys on your

keyboard to help you navigate. Most ChromeVox shortcuts begin with the search key, often

referred to as the ChromeVox key. So this a pretty important one to remember.

First, let me open up a new Chrome tab to show you how this works. To do this, I'll

use the browser shortcut Ctrl + T, for tab.

CHROMEVOX: Tab created: address and search bar. Edit text. Main tool bar. New tab. Window.

LAURA: I hold down Search and press the Right Arrow to move forward to the next object on

the page.

CHROMEVOX: Bookmark this page. Chrome button has pop up.

LAURA: To go backward by object, I can press search, or ChromeVox -

CHROMEVOX: Main toolbar

LAURA: plus the left arrow.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome bottom has pop up. Bookmark this page button.

LAURA: This is called linear navigation, moving item to item on the page.

Before we continue exploring other ways to navigate, I think it's important to show

you the ChromeVox learn mode. If the Chromebook keyboard is somewhat new to you, the learn

mode can be really helpful as you learn the layout. To enter this mode, I hold down Search

and then O and then K, as in open keyboard. This opens up a new Chrome tab. Let's take

a look.

When learn mode is on, I can press the keys on my Chromebook to hear what they are. I'll

press a few keys now.

CHROMEVOX: H. A. U. Seven. Four. Enter. Single quote.

LAURA: I can also press various key combinations to hear what the individual keys are and to

hear any shortcuts that they make. For example, let's see what happens when I press Search

and B (as in boy) together.

CHROMEVOX: Search B next button

LAURA: I hear the key names, and also that this key combination is the command for moving

to the next button.

Note that this mode also works well when typing on a connected USB Braille display. This can

be a helpful learning tool as you begin typing with braille.

To exit learn mode, press the shortcut to close the tab, which is Control + W.

Now let's continue exploring different ways to navigate the screen. In addition to navigating

the page linearly using Search + right arrow or left, I can also use jump commands to skip

forward or backward between similar page items, such as from one heading to the next, link

to link, between form fields, and more. I'm going to show you just a few of the most common

ones for now.

I'll hold down Search and press the letter key for the type of item I want to jump to.

Let's start with H for headings.

For long pages, this is a great way to get a sense of what's on the page and to get

to topics I really want to read about.

To show you, I'll open up a new Chrome tab by pressing Control + T.

CHROMEVOX: Address and search bar. Edit text. Main tool bar. New tab. Window.

LAURA: And type in the URL for our Google accessibility site.

CHROMEVOX: Slash. Accessibility. Select. Google dot Google Accessibility. Find Guides and

Resources. Heading 2 Main.

LAURA: Now, to navigate forward by headings on this page, I press Search + H.

CHROMEVOX: Developers and publishers. Link Heading 3. List item. List. Enterprise and

business. Link Heading 3. List item. Initiatives and research. Link heading 3. List item.

LAURA: To navigate backwards, I press Search plus Shift plus H.

CHROMEVOX: Enterprise and business. Link. Developers and publishers.

LAURA: Then I can press Control to temporarily silent speech. This is definitely a handy

key to remember.

Here's a quick tip for you if you're an experienced screen reader user.

CHROMEVOX: Initiatives and research - Google accessibility

LAURA: If you're on a long article or complex document that has lots of headings at different

levels, remember that you can jump forward or backward by specific heading levels. For

example, to jump forward only by items marked as heading level 3, I press Search plus the

number 3.

CHROMEVOX: FCC Cvideo Programming Accessibility Advisory Committee (VPAAC). Heading 3 Main

LAURA: To go backwards, it's Search + Shift + 3.

CHROMEVOX: Projects supported by Google. Heading 3.

LAURA: Now, let's try Search + L to jump forward by links on the page.

CHROMEVOX: ASL-Stem project Link List item. List with 3 items. MobileASL via Android Link

List Item. NavPal: Mobile Navigation Aid for the Visually Impaired Link List item.

LAURA: And Search + Shift + L to jump backward.

CHROMEVOX: MobileASL ASL-Stem Google Research Blog Link

LAURA: There are lots of different jump commands that will work like this, and I'll show

you a way to find all of these commands later in this video.

Let's talk about using the keyboard to access fundamental things like the Chrome address

bar.

I hold down Control and press L as in location and my cursor jumps to the address bar.

CHROMEVOX: H T T P S colon slash slash W W W.google.com slash accessibility slash selected

LAURA: From here, I can type a web address or search term and press Enter.

CHROMEVOX: cnn.com select omevox nevox evox vox select space h arts l p chrome help selected.

H T T P chrome help Google Search Ad Get Google Chrome. Sync Chrome across devices ad

LAURA: It's helpful to know that this is not a ChromeVox-specific command. It's more

generally a Chrome OS keyboard command. There are a handful of these Chrome OS keyboard

commands to access the various parts of the screen, like the address bar, without the

use of a mouse. These commands work regardless of ChromeVox being enabled. That said, there

are a wide variety of ChromeVox-specific commands, like navigational and jump commands and these

can all be found on the ChromeVox menus. This combination of Chrome OS keyboard commands

with ChromeVox-specific commands enables full, non-visual access to the computer.

Now I'd like to show you the ChromeVox menus that I mentioned the before. The ChromeVox

menus are a new feature that will make your experience more efficient. When ChromeVox

is on, you can open the ChromeVox menus by pressing Search plus period.

CHROMEVOX: ChromeVox panel jump menu click on current item chrome vox plus space menu

item 1 of 59

LAURA: Once this is open, I press the arrow keys to move between the menu headings at

the top of the screen. Here, I can navigate through a list of jump commands…

CHROMEVOX: Go to beginning of table chrome vox plus Alt plus Shift plus Left arrow menu

item

LAURA:…speech options…

CHROMEVOX: Start speech menu Announce the title of the current page chrome vox plus

A greater than W menu item 1 of 15

LAURA:…my open tabs…

CHROMEVOX: Tabs Menu Google Accessibility (active) Menu item 1 of 1

LAURA:…and more ChromeVox options.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome vox menu Enable slash Disable sticky mode Cvox menu item 1 of 10

LAURA: ChromeVox commands are grouped in different lists so I can access specific commands faster

-- like the list of headings on given page, or the list of links, forms, tables, and ARIA

landmarks.

If a list is blank, that means that the page simply doesn't have any of that item.

I can either use these menus as a reference, and press Escape to close them…

…Or, I can find a specific command and then press enter to activate it.

This is a very useful tool when you are first learning ChromeVox, so you don't have to

memorize a long list of commands right off the bat.

You can use this feature to explore your options, and learn the commands that you personally

find most useful as you navigate.

This next feature is called Sticky Mode.

If I double-tap the Search key, I hear confirmation that Sticky Mode is enabled.

CHROMEVOX: Sticky mode enabled

LAURA: With Sticky Mode on, I don't need to press the Search key any more. Earlier,

to explore a page, I had to hold down Search before pressing the Right arrow.

Now, I just press the Right arrow because the Search key is now considered "sticky,"

as if I'm still pressing it.

CHROMEVOX: Initiatives and Research heading Google Support of accessibility extends beyond

products to include research, education, and design efforts

LAURA: Same goes for the jump commands. Before, remember that I had to press Search + H to

navigate forward by headings? Now, I can just press the letter H.

CHROMEVOX: Our approach to accessibility Heading 2 Accessible web initiatives Heading 2

LAURA: Keep in mind that if you want to write text in an editable field, you'll want to

turn Sticky Mode off. To turn it off, I double-tap the Search key

again.

CHROMEVOX: Sticky mode disabled.

LAURA: Remember: you have to double-tap quickly. ChromeVox will tell you when you've turned

Sticky Mode on or off, so be sure to listen for it.

Next, let's adjust the speech settings for ChromeVox. We can change the pitch and speech

rate, and also choose a different language. If ChromeVox is speaking too slowly, I can

increase the rate by holding down Search and pressing the Left Bracket key. The Left Bracket

key is directly to the right of the letter P (as in Paul) on the Chromebook keyboard.

CHROMEVOX: Rate 25 percent. Rate 27 percent.

LAURA: To slow the speech down, I hold down Search + Shift + the Left Bracket key.

CHROMEVOX: Rate 25 percent. Rate 23 percent.

LAURA: Next I'll change the pitch of the voice.

To make ChromeVox speak at a higher pitch, I hold down Search and press the right bracket

key.

CHROMEVOX: Pitch 50 percent. Pitch 56 percent. Pitch 61 percent.

LAURA: To have the voice speak at a lower pitch, hold down Search + Shift + the Right

bracket.

CHROMEVOX: Pitch 56 percent. Pitch 50 percent. Pitch 44 percent.

LAURA: Finally, let's discuss one more option: changing the language.

When you first set up your Chromebook and choose a native language, it automatically

applies to ChromeVox as well. To change it, I need to open up the ChromeVox

Options page. to do this, I hold down Search, and press O then O again, as in open options.

This will open in a new Chrome tab. Now I can use Search + Right to navigate to

the Voices section and choose a language.

CHROMEVOX: Chrome OS US English. Change the current voice by selecting an option from

the list below Button has pop up collapsed. Chrome OS US English Menu item 11 of 13 Chrome

OS US English Chrome OS UK English Chrome OS portugues do Brasil Chrome OS Nederlands

Menu item 8 of 13 Chrome OS Nederland Menu item 8 of 13

LAURA: To close the options page, press Control + W.

That's all for now! Let's wrap up with how to get more information or send us feedback.

For general feedback or questions on any of the topics you've seen today, go to groups.google.com

and search for the public group: chromevox-discuss. If you join the group, then you can send emails

to chromevox-discuss@googlegroups.com and participate in the conversation with our team

and other users.

You can also send feedback about any issues you are having directly from your Chromebook.

With ChromeVox enabled, press Search + A and then I, as in "add input" to open up a

feedback report, fill out the relevant details, and then submit.

Also, look out for more videos about ChromeVox, and on other ways to make Chrome and Chromebooks

easier to use.

Again, I'm Laura, and on behalf of myself and the Chrome Accessibility Team,

thanks for watching!

I definitely recommend checking out our other videos

25 Best Horror Movies To Stream On Netflix Right Now - Duration: 14:20.

The only thing better than a good horror movie is twenty-five of 'em — one after the other,

until you can no longer remember a time when you weren't screaming and didn't have crippling

jump-scare anxiety.

(screaming)

From creature features to teen scream-a-thons and indie darlings, these movies are all available

on Netflix — and all guaranteed to scare your pants off.

Here are the 25 best horror movies to stream on Netflix right now.

The Wailing

The atmospheric, artful thrills of K-horror meet a tried-and-true tale of demonic possession

in 2016's The Wailing, which follows a police officer as he tries to uncover the truth about

the mysterious, violent sickness sweeping through his South Korean mountain village.

Although The Wailing is the slowest of slow burns, running a ridiculous two hours and

thirty-six minutes, director Hong-jin Na earns every second of his movie's runtime by ramping

up the tension to the perfect pitch and pacing out the scares like a pro.

The Babadook

This entry from Down Under was on everyone's lists of the best horror films of 2015, and

it's not hard to see why.

Tense, atmospheric, visually striking, and with an Oscar-worthy performance by Noah Wiseman

as the creepy kid to end all creepy kids, this story of a single mother battling an

evil storybook creature called the Babadook is high-quality nightmare material.

As far as ceiling-crawling anti-gravity monsters go, this guy is chilling.

(screaming)

The Unborn

2009 was a dry period for good, original horror fare, with the exception of The Unborn, which

has plenty to make it worth a watch: a family-centric, fetal twist on the usual possession storyline,

top-quality scares and solid production values, and a surprisingly great cast.

The Unborn asks all of the important questions.

"Do you think it's possible to be haunted by someone who was never even born?"

Not only does Oscar-nominated actor Gary Oldman turn up, but senior citizen scares like this

one will probably keep you from visiting grandma for a long, long time.

(creepy moaning)

Sinister

If you've been nostalgic for Ethan Hawke since his 1990s dreamboat days ended, you'll definitely

dig him in this grown-up role as a skeptical dad who doesn't quite believe that he's discovered

a haunted box of Super 8 reels.

Until it's too late, of course, and the scares are coming fast and furious.

Released in 2012, Sinister does a nice job of mashing up the contemporary concept of

found-footage horror with the feel of a classic haunting flick, and the "home movies" that

are central to the film's plot are genuinely creepy, from the first scene on.

The Host

Before he wowed the world with Snowpiercer, director Bong Joon-ho was the director of

the best Korean creature feature of the early aughts.

The 2006 film The Host tells the story of a hapless dad searching for his daughter,

who has been kidnapped by an acrobatic, sewer-dwelling beast with murder on its mind.

The movie is as much a Godzilla satire as it is a straightforward monster flick, and

the director's trademark slapstick moments are great tension-relievers in a very, very

taut thriller.

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night

As stylish as she is deadly, the veiled vampire at the center of Ana Lily Amirpour's debut

feature film is the best kind of bad girl, and remarkably sympathetic for a person who

feasts on the blood of the living.

The pacing in this horror flick is a bit slow, but made up for by the beauty of its leading

lady and its atmospheric black-and-white world.

When blood spills in Amirpour's setting of Bad City, the splatter is downright elegant.

Housebound

This Kiwi horror comedy takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to a classic trope: instead of movie

about a haunted house, it's a movie about a haunted house arrest.

Small-time criminal Kylie is sentenced to eight months on her parents' property, which

happens to have an angry ghost in residence.

Kylie's ankle bracelet also serves as a clever answer to the question that plagues most haunted

horror films — unlike the dopey characters in other movies who inexplicably stick around

to be terrorized, the heroine of Housebound can't leave her ghost-ridden residence.

"Aren't you lucky Kylie, having all that fancy technology on your foot."

Choosing between brutal ghost death and a prison sentence was never so difficult.

Bad Milo!

"What is it?"

"You've got a thing in your butt."

Thanks to the oversaturated nature of the horror genre, Bad Milo is not the only movie

you can watch in which a murderous monster emerges from someone's tushie.

It is, however, the best of the bunch.

Sorry, Dreamcatcher.

Starring longtime comedy icon and The State veteran Ken Marino, Bad Milo tells the story

of a man who discovers that his lifelong gastrointestinal issues are the result of a demonic polyp,

which escapes from his ass to kill his enemies at will.

Despite its incredibly gross premise, the movie rises above basic bathroom horror to

be reliably entertaining — and Milo, the butt gremlin who kinda looks like the baby

from Dinosaurs, is really pretty lovable.

(adorable butt-monster noises)

Hush

The ordinary home invasion thriller gets kicked up a notch by the injection of a unique twist

in Hush: the heroine is deaf.

Low on gore and high on suspense, the 2016 film succeeds despite a limited budget and

almost no dialogue, thanks to its deliberate storytelling and creative use of sound and

silence to ramp up the tension.

Add in a stellar performance by Kate Siegel, who also co-wrote the film, and Hush is more

than worth investing the short 80 minutes it takes to watch.

Dead Snow

Gory, ghastly, and campy as hell.

In other words, Dead Snow fulfills all reasonable expectations for a horror film about zombie

Nazis rising from a snow-covered hillside to ruin a perfectly good ski vacation.

You won't get nuanced performances or subtle Hitchcockian tension from this movie; you

will, however, get all the blood-spattered action you've ever wanted.

When will people realize that remote cabins are absolutely terrible vacation spots?

Dead Silence

If you're creeped out by ventriloquist dummies, and seriously, who isn't?...

(everyone's reaction to ventriloquist dummies)

...then you'll thoroughly appreciate this movie by horror virtuoso James Wan, who delved

into dummy fare in between directing his better-known projects Saw and Insidious.

Starring True Blood's Ryan Kwanten, Dead Silence occasionally veers into cheesy territory,

but it's hard not to when your characters are battling the ghost of an evil ventriloquist.

Fortunately, its premise is unique enough, and it delivers solid scares.

We Are What We Are

In this 2013 film, the Parkers are a close-knit and reclusive family bound by a mysterious

shared religious tradition.

But rather than draw out that mystery, We Are What We Are reveals it early on and then

draws its horrors from the resulting family drama.

There's plenty of blood and guts here, too, but the American gothic flavor and subtle

character development elevate it above the average gorefest.

Cabin Fever: Patient Zero

Fans of the original Cabin Fever will like this film for the same reasons as they loved

the original.

It's gruesomely, graphically disgusting, possibly even more than its predecessors.

Centering on the origin story of the series' flesh-eating virus, and the worst bachelor

party in history, Cabin Fever: Patient Zero reveals the shocking truth.

Honeymoon

If you've been missing actress Rose Leslie since her untimely exit from Game of Thrones,

this slow burn horror flick about a honeymoon gone wrong will put her back on your TV screen.

Leslie stars opposite Harry Treadaway in a story about two newlyweds whose post-nuptial

bliss at a secluded cabin is rudely interrupted by something strange lurking in the woods.

Without spoiling anything, let's just say that the honeymoon gets real weird, real fast,

before it's officially over.

It Follows

With every classic horror trope having been done and re-done to death, it's rare to find

a movie that looks and feels like something you've never seen before.

"Wherever you are, it's somewhere, walking straight for you.

All you can do is pass it along to someone else."

But with its unique premise, slow pacing, and inventive soundtrack, It Follows is one

of the creepiest and most original horror releases in years — a particularly impressive

feat considering its small budget and use of old-school practical effects to bring the

scares.

A million-dollar CGI monster has nothing on a half-naked, toothless intruder peeing on

your kitchen floor.

Take our word for it.

The Awakening

For spooky atmospheric tension and a unique historic premise, look no further than The

Awakening.

Set in the aftermath of the First World War, this movie follows its heroine to a boarding

school with a ghost problem…or is it?

With its characters as haunted by the horrors of war as they are by any spirits on campus,

The Awakening is big on suspense, and the mystery of what kind of evil they're dealing

with persists almost all the way to the end.

V/H/S

For those with short attention spans, there's nothing better than a feature-length anthology

of mini-horror-movies—and V/H/S is among the best.

Using every available found-footage conceit, from recorded Skype calls to vacation videos,

it tells a series of scary stories that run the gamut from alien abduction to wilderness

monsters, twenty minutes at a time.

If you dig the V/H/S anthology, a pair of sequels in the same format, V/H/S/2 and V/H/S:

Viral, are also available to stream on Netflix.

Troll Hunter

Not to be confused with the original animated Netflix series Trollhunters, or even the amazing

Troll 2…

"Oh my goooooodddddddd!"

...Troll Hunter is director André Øvredal's first horror movie, so catch it while it's

still on Netflix.

Set in the remote, forested northern fjords of Norway, this found-footage mockumentary

follows a group of students as they try to catch an elusive species of giant troll on

camera, without being eaten or trampled alive in the process.

Needless to say, some of the characters are more successful in that endeavor than others.

Ravenous

In this 1999 film, a group of mid-19th-century military frontiersmen save the life of a stranger

who stumbles into their camp… who then thanks the frontiersmen by having them all for dinner.

"Man eats the flesh of another, he absorbs the other man's strength…"

(epic, cannibalistic yelling)

Cannibal hillbilly stories are a dime a dozen, but Ravenous breathes fresh life into the

trope with an awesome cast, a nifty historical angle, and some unexpectedly hilarious jokes

about the etiquette of eating your fellow man.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

"Come on!"

"What is going on?"

"How is he even walking right now, Tucker?"

"He looks like he's going to walk it off.

He's going to be fine."

If you're looking to scream with laughter rather than terror, it doesn't get better

than this pitch-perfect sendup of the camp slasher genre.

Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk star as a pair of backwoods BFFs who are just trying to enjoy

a relaxing vacation at their fixer-upper cabin in the mountains.

But when a group of preppy, judgmental college kids sets up camp nearby, a series of absurd

misunderstandings unleash an unstoppable tide of rage, violence, and accidental deaths-by-woodchipper.

An American Werewolf in London

The best practical special effects you'll ever see in a creature feature belong to this

classic werewolf movie from 1981.

An American Werewolf in London is as darkly funny as it is terrifying, in a dry, British

sort of way, like when the mangled spirits of the various victims of David's lunar activities

turn up to scold him for not only killing innocent Londoners, but being such an unrefined

boor about it.

"What shall I do?"

"Suicide."

They just don't make horror like this anymore… although they tried, bless their little hearts.

Don't confuse this one with the 1997 film, An American Werewolf in Paris, which was a

pile of hot garbage.

Odd Thomas

In this film based on a book by Dean Koontz, Anton Yelchin plays a small-town fry cook

and part-time vigilante psychic who uses his gifts to hunt down killers.

He runs into trouble when his town is invaded by an evil beyond anything he's seen before.

As horror flicks go, Odd Thomas is more whimsical, and occasionally sentimental, but Yelchin

is so charming in the title role that you won't miss the jump scares a bit.

Hellraiser

On its surface, Hellraiser is a cautionary tale about buying and solving puzzle boxes

from sketchy Moroccan street vendors.

But really, it's all about master of horror Clive Barker, and his first foray into the

grotesque fantasy world that would spawn close to a dozen films.

The acting won't win any awards, and the gore is over the top even for a horror film, but

Hellraiser's unique combination of demonic lore and lingering cringe shots of slimy,

torn-off people parts makes it a must-watch for anyone who claims to be serious about

horror.

The Fly

Everyone loves David Cronenberg's 1986 version of sci-fi horror story The Fly, but this version

from 1958 came first.

It's a classic science fiction film, with a cast that includes everybody's favorite

cadaverous leading man, Vincent Price.

As far as the plotline, you know the drill: mad scientist gets overambitious, has careless

lab accident, transfigures self into gruesome half-human, half-fly monstrosity.

But back in the mid-20th century, this movie was groundbreaking—and even by modern-day

standards, it goes to some shockingly dark places.

The Shining

We know you've seen The Shining, or at least the thousands of pop culture references to

it.

"No TV and no beer make Homer something something…"

"Go crazy?"

"Don't mind if I do!"

But no matter how many times you've seen it, you haven't seen it enough.

Stanley Kubrick's 1980 adaptation of Stephen King's terrifying haunted-hotel novel was

notoriously loathed by the author, but it's still a brilliant piece of filmmaking from

a master.

The Shining packs in plenty of gut-punching terror, focusing on a horrific performance

by Jack Nicholson as a man coming undone in the worst way.

In Kubrick's hands, a slow and lingering visual crawl down an empty hallway at the Overlook

Hotel is more terrifying than any jump scare.

But really, see it for the hundreds of pop culture references that will suddenly make

sense.

"Redrum Redrum!"

"Danny stop it!

"Trab pu kcip!"

"What have we told you about writing on the walls?

Go to your room!"

Northern Hemisphere Potentially In Great Danger As Fukushima Radiation Spikes To 'Unimaginable' Leve - Duration: 10:49.

Northern Hemisphere Potentially In Great Danger As Fukushima Radiation Spikes To Unimaginable

Levels.

By Michael Snyder.

Radiation inside one of the damaged reactors at the Fukushima nuclear power facility has

reached an unimaginable level according to experts.

Because so much nuclear material from Fukushima escaped into the Pacific Ocean, there are

many scientists that believe that it was the worst environmental disaster in human history,

but most people in the general population seem to think that since the mainstream media

really doesnt talk about it anymore that everything must be under control.

Unfortunately, that is not true at all.

In fact, PBS reported just last year that it is incorrect to say that Fukushima is

under control when levels of radioactivity in the ocean indicate ongoing leaks.

And now we have just learned that the radiation level inside reactor 2 is so high that no

human could possibly survive being exposed to it.

According to the Japan Times, the level of radiation inside the containment vessel of

reactor 2 is now estimated to be 530 sieverts per hour

The radiation level in the containment vessel of reactor 2 at the crippled Fukushima No.

1 power plant has reached a maximum of 530 sieverts per hour, the highest since the triple

core meltdown in March 2011, Tokyo Electric Power Co. Holdings Inc. said.

Tepco said on Thursday that the blazing radiation reading was taken near the entrance to the

space just below the pressure vessel, which contains the reactor core.

The high figure indicates that some of the melted fuel that escaped the pressure vessel

is nearby.

It is hard to find the words to convey how serious this is.

If you were exposed to a radiation level of just 10 sieverts per hour, that would mean

almost certain death.

So 530 sieverts per hour is simply off the charts.

According to the Guardian, this recent measurement is being described by scientists as unimaginable

The recent reading, described by some experts as unimaginable, is far higher than

the previous record of 73 sieverts an hour in that part of the reactor.

A single dose of one sievert is enough to cause radiation sickness and nausea; 5 sieverts

would kill half those exposed to it within a month, and a single dose of 10 sieverts

would prove fatal within weeks.

And the really bad news is that there appears to be a 2 meter hole that was created by melted

nuclear fuel in the metal grating under the pressure vessel in the reactors primary

containment vessel.

The following comes from Bloomberg

New photographs show what may be melted nuclear fuel sitting under one of Japans wrecked

Fukushima reactors, a potential milestone in the search and retrieval of the fuel almost

six years after it was lost in one of the worst atomic disasters in history.

Tokyo Electric Power Co. Holdings Inc., Japans biggest utility, released images on Monday

showing a grate under the Fukushima Dai-Ichi No. 2 reactor covered in black residue.

The company, better known as Tepco, may send in a scorpion-like robot as soon as February

to determine the temperature and radioactivity of the residue.

If that isnt frightening enough, one Japanese news source is reporting that this melted

nuclear fuel has since come in contact with underground water flowing from the mountain

side

The melted fuel has since come in contact with underground water flowing from the mountain

side, generating radioactively contaminated water every day.

In order to dismantle the reactor, it is necessary to take out the melted fuel, but high radiation

levels inside the reactor had hampered work to locate the melted debris.

If this disaster was just limited to Japan, the entire northern hemisphere would not be

at risk.

But that is not the case.

Most of the nuclear contamination from Fukushima ended up in the Pacific Ocean, and from there

it was literally taken around the rest of the planet.

The following was reported by PBS

More than 80 percent of the radioactivity from the damaged reactors ended up in the

Pacific far more than reached the ocean from Chernobyl or Three Mile Island.

Of this, a small fraction is currently on the seafloor the rest was swept up by

the Kuroshio current, a western Pacific version of the Gulf Stream, and carried out to sea

where it mixed with (and was diluted by) the vast volume of the North Pacific.

We dont know if there is a connection, but it is extremely interesting to note that

fisheries up and down the west coast of the United States are failing because of a dramatic

decrease in fish populations.

Just check out the following excerpt from a story that was posted on January 18th

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker today determined there are commercial fishery

failures for nine salmon and crab fisheries in Alaska, California and Washington.

In recent years, each of these fisheries experienced sudden and unexpected large decreases in fish

stock biomass or loss of access due to unusual ocean and climate conditions.

This decision enables fishing communities to seek disaster relief assistance from Congress.

Things are particularly bad up in Alaska, and biologists are stumped as to why

this could be happening

In 2016, the pink salmon harvests in Kodiak, Prince William Sounds, Chignik and lower Cook

Inlet came in woefully under forecast and stumped biologists as to why.

The estimated value of Kodiaks 2016 haul was $2.21 million, compared to a five-year

average of $14.64 million, and in Prince William Sound the ex-vessel value was $6.6 million,

far less that the $44 million five-year average.

The total state harvest was the smallest since the late 1970s.

Although state biologists werent ready to declare a cause for the poor pink salmon

performance, the Commerce Department press release attributed the disasters to unusual

ocean and climate conditions.

Further south, it was being reported last month that millions of dead sardines are washing

up on the shores of Chile.

I could go on and on with a lot more examples like this, but hopefully you get the point.

Something really strange is happening in the Pacific, and a lot of people believe that

there is a link to Fukushima.

Not too long ago, I wrote about how the elite of Silicon Valley are feverishly prepping,

but the truth is that all of us should be.

If you need some tips on how to get started, you can find my prepping book right here.

Our planet is becoming increasingly unstable, and the Fukushima nuclear disaster is just

one piece of the puzzle.

But it is definitely a very important piece.

The nuclear material from Fukushima is continuously entering the food chain, and once that nuclear

material gets into our bodies it will slowly irradiate our organs for years to come.

The following is an excerpt from an absolutely outstanding opinion piece by Helen Caldicott

that was published in the Guardian

Internal radiation, on the other hand, emanates from radioactive elements which enter the

body by inhalation, ingestion, or skin absorption.

Hazardous radionuclides such as iodine-131, caesium 137, and other isotopes currently

being released in the sea and air around Fukushima bio-concentrate at each step of various food

chains (for example into algae, crustaceans, small fish, bigger fish, then humans; or soil,

grass, cows meat and milk, then humans).

After they enter the body, these elements called internal emitters migrate to

specific organs such as the thyroid, liver, bone, and brain, where they continuously irradiate

small volumes of cells with high doses of alpha, beta and/or gamma radiation, and over

many years, can induce uncontrolled cell replication that is, cancer.

Further, many of the nuclides remain radioactive in the environment for generations, and ultimately

will cause increased incidences of cancer and genetic diseases over time.

Are you starting to understand the gravity of the situation?

Sadly, this crisis is going to be with us for a very, very long time.

According to Bloomberg, they are not even going to start removing melted nuclear fuel

from these reactors until 2021, and it is being projected that the overall cleanup may

take as long as 40 years

Decommissioning the reactors will cost 8 trillion yen ($70.4 billion), according to an estimate

in December from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Removing the fuel is one of the most important steps in a cleanup that may take as long as

40 years.

The unprecedented nature of the Fukushima disaster means that Tepco is pinning its efforts

on technology not yet invented to get the melted fuel out of the reactors.

The company aims to decide on a fuel removal procedure for the first reactor during the

fiscal year ending March 2019, and to begin removing fuel in 2021.

A lot of people that end up dying as a result of this crisis may never even know that it

was Fukushima that caused their deaths.

Personally, I am convinced that this is the greatest environmental crisis that humanity

has ever experienced, and if the latest reading from reactor 2 is any indication, things just

took a very serious turn for the worse.

Robots to save lives from a tsunami? - Duration: 3:46.

About 2,500 people are in danger in the Pacific Ocean right now due to none other than a volcano.

[Making exploding noise]

But, hope has been found and possibly in the form of an aquatic robot.

Now a little bit of a back story.

Since bursting to life 1,000 kilometers south of Tokyo in 2013, a massive marine volcano

called Nishinoshima has erupted dozens of times, spewing red-hot lava that engulfed

a neighboring island.

So now that it has created this own island of it's own the biggest concern is expansion

because it's active and also if any of the current land mass that is existing falls,

it can create a massive tidal wave that will ultimately hurt those 2,500 people that are

in danger right now.

Here is one image for you guys.

This is the actual volcano coming out of the water as you can see.

And the second image here is the final land mass that was formed from the erupting volcano.

So.

I think it's actually kind of pretty personally.

It actually a pretty cool photo.

[laughing]

Now Japan is not unfamiliar with these tidal waves especially bacon 2011 with the massive

tidal wave that Fukushima.

If I said that right.

That was very devastating.

So now that there is a new threat out there with this underwater volcano, you know, a

lot of research and investment has been put into how can we monitor them.

Now, during the October cruise of KS16-16(1) a research team with members from the Kobe

University Graduate School of Science, the University of Tokyo Earthquake Research Institute

and the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC)(2) tested a newly

developed island volcano monitoring system in the seas around Nishinoshima.

So the test actually proved to be very successful.

There were a few minor concerns that they had glitches and things.

But they have gone back and fix a lot of those and ultimately they find this, you know, something

that can actually work in monitoring.

Now for all the nerds out there who want to know more about the actual tech, tech side

of it.

Here are few facts about the robot.

The bot is kind of a high-tech surfboard connected to an array of underwater wings that convert

the up-and-down bobbing of waves into forward motion, moving the machine as fast as three

knots.

The glider is equipped with cameras for visual observation of the volcano, a GPS wave gauge

that can detect tsunami cased by volcanic collapse, and a gauge that checks for earthquakes

and air vibrations by measuring sonic waves in the air and water.

During the system's test run around the island researchers were able to confirm that these

features were functioning correctly.

So, based on what they got there, they are hoping to actually release this in may and

let it run for a few months to monitor it and see how it works.

So, this sounds exactly what you would think from playing a little, as a child with all

your action figures and oh no this is going to come and hit my army men.

I got to figure out how to do this.

I know, I will build a robot to protect us.

[laughing]

Yes.

I think it's really exciting.

I know a lot of what they were trying to research which was for was that this is very successful,

there hoping to implement you know have these all over the ocean.

You know, with rogue waves possibly happening.

You know, more earthquakes underwater more volcanos.

You know, tsunami threat is a concern in a lot of areas and I think this is great that

if this is successful and they are able to successfully monitor this, we can expand on

it.

Definitely.

For once we can actually think that uh robots will save our lives, not take over the world.

Or it could be this giant scheme of how they will...

Yeah.

WINNER & HONORABLE MENTIONS: Winter Biannual Bibliothon 2017. - Duration: 2:55.

Hey nerds, what's up?

If you want to see who one each and every single day of the last Bibliothon, make sure to head over

to our Youtube channel where we'll be announcing all seven of the winners along with our eighth winner

which wins $20 to Book Depository if they uploaded all seven days. So all of that information will be

on the Bibliothon channel but today I just want to talk about my favorites from my host day.

My host day's challenge, which was New Year, New Me. You had to do New Year's resolutions for a character,

as well as my winner and why they won.

[MUSIC]

Usually I do my wrap up with this video, but I'm just going to include it in my January and February wrap up

because I didn't actually read that many books. I think I just finished one.

Before I get into who won my day, I want to talk about some of my favorites from my host day that didn't end up winning.

The girl who runs the channel JustaLittleBitRandom did a really hilarious Mara Dyer New Year, New Me challenge.

And she's basically sitting in therapy as Mara Dyer, which is from the Mara Dyer trilogy and she's basically

talking about how her entire family thinks she's crazy, this is not spoilery, and then all of a sudden

she turns into a "new her" which is a bearded dragon. I laughed so hard. It was very good.

Oh my god make sure to go watch it, these videos will be linked down below in case you're interested.

The last one that I really needed to shout out because TellerofTales does an amazing job every single Bibliothon

is her New Year, New Voldy challenge because she did Voldemort. [LAUGHS]

It's a voiceover and its funny and she's like "I'm going to have a new body" and its very traditional New Year's resolutions

New body, going to the gym. Except that he did get a new body, and she shows that. Oh my god.

TellerofTales, Emma you're amazing. Why are you so perfect.

And of course, lastly I want to talk about the winner of the New Year, New Me challenge which was

RaeofSunshineBooks. She did a Hazel Grace Lancaster from The Fault in Our Stars New Year, New me

and basically it just made me cry and it was emotional and it made me feel all the feels

that I didn't want to ever feel ever again, which means that she won. It was very good, well created,

it was very artistically filmed. And I really enjoyed it so congratulations Rae. That's everything today.

I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Give it a big thumbs up if you did. Make sure to check out all of the videos

I mentioned in this one down below, as well as our announcement for all of our winners which is on

the Bibliothon channel. I'll see you guys very soon. Make sure to hit that subscribe button before you go

and I'll see you guys next time. Bye!

BASS - 100 Noms - Episode 79 - Duration: 6:52.

Hello, how are you?

today I m in Marsilly, near from La Rochelle

in France

and I m gonna visit 2 friends

Frank Nelson

who played in my band for many years

and Krikri

who manage an association of Slam /Poetry

and who write some beautiful poetry

i take the opportunity to be there

to drop by and say hello

Hello Frank

Hello Niko

Hey hello Niko

Who is Krikri?

(hard to translate but : Krikri is Krikri and she's addict to the Mic)

it's the little joke

i love to write but i discovered very recently that

we can say what we write

that we could write to say it loud

and somehow words were not a refuge

but could also be a source of shining

and pleasure

and sharing

I took my pen in another way

it was not anymore to heal myself

but more for pleasure

and this is pretty new for me

and the meeting with Frank stimulated this a lot

Slam (spoken words) is a way to go to other people

i started since 10 years with Slamalamer

hundreds of open Mics

gave the opportunity to thousands of people to speak

and one day I said to myself...what about me

I will finally also speak by myself too

i will take my time for it

and you also say what you have to say

yes, that's it

my name's Frank

Nelson

that's my name

it's been a long time you and me

yes it's been a long time now

you can continue to play

i drink a little before

my mother is from Corsica

i like to begin with this

and my father is from Haiti

what's Art for you?

it's Staying Alive

because it always helped me

it helped me to stay alive

but really

i didn't knew what Bass was before hearing a song from the Beatles

where tha Bass was really in front

very melodic

and as I didn't know what it was I asked my stepfather at this time

who was a musician

to tell me what it was

and he said: this is the bass

and he offered me one

it was more a feeling because often bass

bass frequencies are more felt than heard

this perception of low frequencies

i felt it in classical music

in the Hymn for Joy of Beethoven for exemple

where the bass are singing

i couldn't define it but it was more emotional to me than the melody

one word? i would say Connections

because to me it represent a langage that

totally universal

between humans themselves

between the types of expression

and it's a magical place where everything can be done

if you see someone doing something with heart

it's artistic to me

see? he is also an artist

I wanted to create a bid band for bass

i wanted a band of bassists

i ve been writing some arrangements since a long time now

so the idea of Christine

to mix her words to my music

was like an evidence

we were going further than only the concert

we go within the scope of the concert to create a concrete thing

you ask me some questions... (ironic)

energy is love indeed

the real thing to transmit is this

you must think before

of listening to the others

because listening to yourself is almost not important

you must learn how to calm yourself in life

you can't really listen if you re not calm

so with the words, it's a bonus

it's the connection once more time, the Big Bass Band

giving the human voice

and my words to the bass

and who cares if it's a bass pretending to be a woman or a woman that becomes a bass

it's a show where every song, with or without voice

are like a painting

and a little string to connect this all and bring you in our universe

where the Bass is the queen

that was not bad, they said a lot of things no?

thank you Krikri

it's named

My CubaRican Snacks - Duration: 3:09.

Now if you follow me on social media,

which if you don't already all the links are in the

description so go ahead and do that.

You'll know, I am pretty homesick.

Living out here in California, there's not a lot of Cuban

and Puerto Rican things.

And I didn't realize until now, how much I would miss

living in Florida and having access to my culture

constantly.

But luckily my family has been very kind

and has mailed me some of my favorite snacks.

That I grew up with and I wanted to share it with you.

First my friend Gustavo sent me these

when I moved out here.

But my niece also sent me some as well.

And they're Pilones!

Pilones are these little lollipops.

The red part for me doesn't have a specific taste

I guess it's like, kinda like strawberry.

And it has little sesame seeds in them.

For me this is like the epitome of

a Puerto Rican childhood.

I remember when my mom use to take me to

the little Spanish stores in Kissimmee.

And these guys would be at the register.

And I would beg my mom to get them for me.

They were only like a quarter for one.

And I loved them!

I don't know why, they're so simple but

I love these lollipops.

Now the next thing is

very very close to my heart.

It's Kresto!

This is a powder chocolate that you can make chocolate milk with.

And it's very special to me.

My mom and my Abuelo use to have this

when my mom was a kid.

They use to eat the powder but also make chocolate milk with it.

And my mom use to buy it for me and

would do the same.

This made me feel very close to my Abuelo

because he passed away right before my parents got married.

So it was like a little connection to him.

I don't know whether or not this is actually like a Cuban thing?

But for me I associate it with being Cuban because

my mom loves it.

And she's Cuban.

And I thought this got discontinued.

Because...

I think by the time I was in high school, I stopped

seeing it in all the stores my mom and I use to try and get them from.

And even out here I've looked for it.

And I could not find it but my niece

found it in Miami.

And she sent me this.

And now I have to ration it because I don't

want to use it all.

Now the last thing I'm sure every Cuban and Puerto Rican

should know what this is.

The can is a little bit dented because of the mail.

Florecitas!

These little cookies are life.

They're just a little wafer with royal icing on the top.

And they're addicting.

My niece sent me these and I honestly didn't expect

her to send it.

These don't exist out here in California.

I have not been able to find them.

My boyfriend, who's Mexican, has never seen them before.

It was so cool to show him

just my childhood in a can!

But those are my favorite snacks.

My favorite childhood snacks that

really make me feel connected with my culture.

I really have to ration all of this because it's hard

to find them out here.

But I wanted to share it with you because

they just make me happy looking at them and

maybe if you see these things in your stores

get it and try it because they're delicious and they're great.

So that's it.

I'll see you all next time.

bye!

Powerful Strategies for Scorch - TitanFall 2 - Duration: 18:36.

Hey what is up guys, my name is TigerNemesis and today I'm going to show you some powerful

strategies for Scorch in TitanFall 2 and some bonus tips that you might not have known about.

Hopefully the tips I show you in this video will help try out Scorch if you haven't

already.

For those of us that use Scorch as our main titan, like me, I hope that the tips I show

you in this video will help you become a better player as well.

I'm going to first start off doing an overview on the titan kits and why each one specifically

is either useless or useful to Scorch.

The first one is the Assault chip: Now, the only match I would recommend that you use

this for is either Amped Hardpoint or Bounty Hunt, and the reason I say this is because

there is a huge chance you're obviously going to need to exit your Scorch to hold

a Hardpoint or to deposit your earnings into the bank.

This would help your Scorch not get destroyed by an enemy titan, and it also gives it a

higher chance at helping you deter enemy pilots from coming into the building with you as

well.

And next comes Stealth Auto-eject: Now, unless you just began playing, I highly recommend

you avoid using this kit with your Scorch.

I would actually recommend using one of the other kits to assist you in becoming more

effective offensively and defensively against enemy titans and pilots.

Turbo-Engine: In my opinion, this is the best kit that you can use for Scorch.

Since he's so slow, it helps you in avoiding oncoming damage by ducking behind cover or

walls.

More so, it helps you so much in conjunction with your heat shield to get up close and

personal to deal the most damage.

I going to go ahead and touch upon this a little bit more later in the video.

And next we have Nuclear ejection: Although I wouldn't recommend using this kit either,

it's best used in smaller spaces and in Attrition, since it will more than likely

cause collateral damage that you didn't intend to or plan to do to distracted enemy

pilots and non-playable-characters like the grunts and spectres.

The main reason why I wouldn't recommend using this kit is because most enemy titans

can avoid this by going behind cover or worse yet, they can take advantage of the timing

that it takes you to mash the button and detonate your nuclear ejection, causing them to execute

you.

I did want to add one more important note about nuclear ejection: This doesn't work

like TitanFall 1, where you could nuclear eject whenever you wanted to, even if it's

right after getting into your titan.

In TitanFall 2, Nuclear ejection is only detonated once your titan is in a doomed state.

If you do decide to use Nuclear Ejection with Scorch: There is a second tip that I wanted

to point out that most people don't use; keep your titan alive until the enemy evac

ship arrives and using nuclear ejection to take it out.

You can damage yourself into a doomed state by shooting your thermite launcher towards

your feet while deploying incendiary traps and firewalls as well to deal most damage.

The second you get doomed, eject immediately below the ship.

If you have phase shift equipped, use it to avoid killing your pilot with the blast, otherwise,

if you don't have phase shift equipped on your pilot, try to get your titan as close

as possible below the ship without having an obstructed ejection escape.

This will make the enemy evac ship so much easier to destroy, since when you use your

nuclear ejection, it takes around half of the actual HP bar of the evac ship.

And the next TitanKit is Overcore: Although this starts you off with a 30% towards your

core and an electric smoke to use, I still recommend using the turbo engine kit.

The reason I say this is because that kit will help you to get your core faster by playing

offense and defense at the same time.

One Bonus Tip: If you enter a Last Titan Standing match that's already in progress, when the

next round begins, you will automatically be given a 15% core build time since you entered

into an active match.

The last TitanKit on the list is Counter-ready: This kit gives you a second electric smoke

to use once you reach 30% core build time.

If you have a really big issue getting rodeo'd all of the time, I suggest that you use this.

However, if you consider the tips that I will give you later in the video about how to deal

with pilots, trust me, you won't ever need this thing.

And now we get to the Scorch kits: The first one on here is Wildfire launcher: This kit

adds more thermite to your T-203 main gun, but it doesn't add any damage.

In my opinion, it doesn't add enough to your offense weaponry to warrant this kit

over others.

Tempered plating: This armor reduces the damage from your own fire if you happen to walk into

it, but, like the previous kit, it doesn't add enough to your defense to warrant this

kit over others; and I will touch up upon this later in the video as well.

Inferno shield: This is the best kit that you can use for Scorch.

It adds damage to your shield while also expanding the duration, this is such a life saver since

Scorch is very slow; and we'll get more into details a little bit later in the video

as well.

Fuel for the fire: This kit makes your firewall last longer, but because it's deployed in

a straight line, an enemy titan or pilot can literally just side-step to avoid it.

So, this kit making it last longer doesn't make you more powerful to use it.

And last we have Scorched Earth: This only makes the floor along your flame core, when

you're using it, produce 3 firewalls, which only lasts as long as the core is active.

So, to me, this one is useless.

TitanFall Kits, Dome Shield: Stick with this one!

If you get killed on the way to your titan after it touches down, you can run back after

you respawn and still make it inside just before the shield runs out.

I did also want to share one Bonus tip with the dome shield: After you get into your titan,

you can keep the shield up if you don't move your titan.

However, you can still look around with the right thumbstick or your mouse (if you're

playing on PC.)

This should help you temporarily avoid pre-emptive attacks or impatient pilots wanting to rodeo

you.

Warpfall: I don't ever see a reason why I would recommend this because you don't

have a shield after your titan lands; even if the TitanFall is faster, it's open to

attacks by pilots and enemy titans.

Now that I've covered the basics, we can get into the main part of making you a more

effective Scorch pilot.

I would first like to remind everyone of the HP bars that every titan has, this should

help you remember which titans to attack depending on what their HP bar is: So, we see here that

Scorch and Legion have 5 bars of HP, Tone and Ion have 4 bars of HP, and finally, Ronin

and Northstar have 3 bars of HP.

So, with Scorch, your inferno shield is your best friend.

My best strategy for Scorch is to always get up close and personal with your enemy titan,

but since Scorch is so slow, this is where the turbo-engine TitanKit will come in handy.

Once you come face to face with an enemy titan, throw up your shield in bursts, don't keep

it up nonstop since this will make your shield run out faster and will make you into a huge

slow open target.

Try to stay around building corners just in case you need to duck behind them to avoid

damage.

While you are throwing up your heat shield in bursts, because more than likely your enemy

titan will keep attacking you non-stop since he underestimates your tactics, deploy your

incendiary traps behind the enemy titan.

I did want to point out one Important note!

Your heat shield will protect you from all damage that is directed towards it!

If someone starts shooting the parts of the Scorch that aren't protected by the heat

shield, which are very few, they will cause damage.

However, most pilots don't know this and will keep attacking you through your shield

in vain!

Use this towards your advantage, especially with Legions and Northstars.

Another important note about your inferno shield: It takes an average of 8 seconds of

direct inferno shield damage to get a Legion or another Scorch into a doomed state, this

takes 6 seconds for a Tone and a Ion, and 4 seconds for a Northstar and a Ronin.

Remember this because I will touch back on this later.

Now, getting back on track; depending on the situation and the area that you're in, there

are several effective ways of using your heat shield combined with your incendiary traps,

which I will show you in the following image: Mei-ling: "The bright dot in the middle is you Snake."

Oh wait, sorry, wrong game.

The red circle is your Scorch, the blue circle is the enemy titan, and the yellow circles

are the incendiary traps; while the red and the yellow line is your firewall.

Method #1 is my favorite technique to use, where you deploy your incendiary traps horizontally

behind the enemy titan and immediately use your firewall to ignite them.

You can also deploy your incendiary traps in either direction behind the enemy titan,

left-to-right or right-to-left (whichever one you prefer).

Right after deploying your second trap, use your firewall in one of two ways show in the

image.

Step #3a firewall shows straight through the enemy titan to scare him into moving and you

should now sidestep left or right to avoid self-inflicted damage, then advance towards

the enemy titan.

Step# 3B firewall completely avoids the enemy titan, but ignites the traps behind him, this

helps you move straight towards your enemy titan without worrying about stepping into

your own firewall and causing damage. After using your firewall, throw up your inferno

shield in bursts and walk towards the enemy titan.

This should cause the him to go straight into your traps to avoid your inferno shield.

If you get lucky and close enough to the enemy titan.

Use your inferno shield non-stop to deal the most damage possible.

This should also help you earn your electric smoke, and use this immediately to stack damage

as well.

One important note to add to this as well: try to keep the enemy's health bar within

your view to know when you have to melee and execute the titan or whether you have to dash

to safety from a nuclear ejection.

Remembering the number of seconds worth of direct inferno shield contact that I have

stated previously in the video for the titan you are fighting, helps you if you lose track

of the enemy's HP bars.

Method #2 is best used for narrow corridors or if you want to split up multiple enemy

titans that are charging at you.

The reason I always suggest to throw down your firewall straight and then side-step

to avoid damage is because those few seconds that the enemy titan is in the fire will help

you more than if you would have deployed your firewall in a different manner.

As with the previous method, throw up your heat shield and push towards the enemy titan

to make him scared and walk straight into the fire behind him.

Method #3 is best used when you can't predict a fast-moving titan or when you need to back

off from multiple titans.

Throw your first trap behind the enemy titan and immediately follow this by throwing your

secondary trap towards him to either land in front of him, or for a little more fun,

bounce it off his head, and follow this up with your firewall.

Respawn weapon timing!

The respawn timer takes 15 seconds to reload 1 incendiary trap, 10 seconds for your firewall,

and 5 seconds for your heat shield.

Keep this in mind to avoid tense moments of waiting to see when you can use each one of

the weapons again.

Let's move on: Take advantage of every chance you have to execute enemy titans, since when

you are in an execution animation, you are invincible and it also gives you a different

camera angle to know if there's other titans around you that you didn't know about.

When it comes to your thermite launcher, use this very carefully, since the reload is 4

seconds before you can shoot again.

If you're shooting long range with this, shoot higher than your target to arch it and

achieve a hit, even if you miss, it will make the enemy titan move since there is now thermite

on fire in that spot.

Use this towards your advantage with titans that like to stay away from you.

My main suggestion for this weapon is to not shoot unless you know you will have a direct

hit.

If you know you are going to miss, it wastes time and a shot that you could have possibly

used for that enemy pilot that is pestering the hell out of you.

The reload time also makes it harder to shoot enemy pilots that are running around your

Scorch or are popping in and out of a hiding spot shooting at you.

Enemy pilots: They can be a real nuisance if you don't take care of them fast and efficiently.

Most enemy pilots I've encountered in my Scorch are too scared to get close since they

know that you can throw up your heat shield and fry them instantly.

So, they tend to hide above rooftops or inside of buildings and caves.

Counter this by using your incendiary traps.

If the pilot is on a roof, deploy your trap onto the rooftop and shoot higher at a nearby

wall or post with your thermite launcher.

This will make the fire rain onto the rooftop where they ducked behind cover and will instantly

bake within seconds.

You can also do this with buildings and rooms, but you have to step back and aim lower at

the door to get your trap inside, otherwise, it will just bounce off the wall and stay outside.

I would first suggest that you shoot a thermite into where the pilot is hiding first, to give

him the illusion that you missed and that they're safe, then follow this with the

incendiary trap.

The trap will ignite and roast them, and they'll think twice about hiding from you.

I can't begin to tell you the number of pilots that think they are safe on a rooftop

hiding from me and I've gotten the best of them with this method.

Let's move on to Rodeos: If a pilot happens to rodeo you, there are several effective

ways of getting rid of him and making sure that he doesn't run off with your battery

or drop a grenade for damage.

Most pilots I've encountered don't have the LOW-PROFILE perk equipped, which hides

their rodeo status from you until they begin to touch your battery or begin to cook the

grenade.

If you don't have an electric smoke to shake them off, immediately get out of your titan

and shoot them off or wait till they take your battery and jump to the floor running;

they will be too happy or busy thinking that they got away from you to notice that you

are out of your titan and already shooting at them.

If you do have an electric smoke, I can show you a method that has worked for me 99% each

time I've used it to kill the enemy pilot.

Once again, the red circle with the arrow is your Scorch, the blue line is your electric

smoke, and the yellow circle is the enemy pilot.

As soon as you hear or see that an enemy pilot is on you, immediately deploy your electric

smoke, move forward so that your visor view is out of the smoke and look all the way up.

This will put the enemy pilot literally in the middle of the smoke and any way he decides

to jump or run to, he will die trying to do so.

Circle #1 displays the enemy pilot when you deploy your smoke, Circle #2 shows his/her

position after you have stepped forward, and Circle #3 shows the pilots position after

you have aimed up.

Flame core!

Lastly, your flame core!

If you use all of the methods that I've suggested to you already, you should get this

in no time.

Once you have it, you have 2 options; either to use it immediately or keep it for tactical

use.

This really depends on the situation that you're in; either surrounded by titans,

1 versus 1, narrow corridors, or retreating from damage.

If you're facing multiple titans, use this immediately to deal damage and start working

on earning another one.

If this is a 1 versus 1 situation, wait to use it until you have a perfect shot at hitting

your target.

In other words, take your time not miss or have the enemy titan avoid it.

There are 2 very important things that I want to point out with this: #1 – Whether you

are right in front of your enemy titan or there is some distance between both of you,

the flame core will deal the same amount of damage.

Don't think that just because you aren't close to him, you won't deal as much damage

and then you try to get closer.

#2 – If you have your flame core and you're getting horribly surrounded or destroyed by

an enemy titan or multiple enemy titans, and you know you're going to get killed; use

your flame core and eject immediately afterwards.

Your Scorch will still use the flame core while you are being ejected.

This can be such a huge help when you know that you worked hard to earn it and you have

to bail but you still want to use it.

I've used this specific method various times and have caught the enemy titans off guard

because they see me ejecting.

I did also want to share one last tidbit of advice that most people don't know about:

when you pick up a battery and give it to your titan (or another titan), it is worth

a half bar of HP.

This means that if your titan doesn't have an overshield, it will regenerate your overshield

and give the remainder of what's left in the battery as health to your titan.

If your titan does have an overshield, it will give you an entire half bar of HP back

to your titan.

This is another image that I have created to illustrate what I've just stated.

As you can see, I have taken three screenshots from my Scorch's HP bar and have added colored

rectangles to help show you the differences with each battery that is given to your titan.

#1 on the graph shows my Scorch's HP bar after taking damage.

#2 shows my HP bar after I had given it one battery.

The yellow box illustrates how much HP I had regained from the battery after it refilled

my overshield first.

#3 shows my HP bar after I had given my Scorch a second battery.

The red box illustrates the amount of HP I had recovered from that second battery.

On the bottom image, I created a blue square to represent the amount of the first battery

that was used to replenish my overshield, while the yellow box was the remainder given

to me as HP.

You can see that it only used around 10% of the battery for my overshield regeneration.

Well, that's going to be all of my tips and tricks I have in this episode to help

you become a more effective pilot when using Scorch and if you don't use him, I hope

that these suggestions will help you give it a chance, and who knows, it might become

your favorite titan to use!

This is specifically what actually happened to me because I always used tone, but saw

that everyone was using him too and not enough people were using Scorch.

Having said that, that is going to be it for this video today.

I worked pretty hard to make this video for everyone so if you could please share this

video with your friends, push that like button and subscribe to my channel, I would really

REALLY appreciate it!

I've also included links to my social media sites below and the images that were included

in this video for you guys as well.

Lastly, please also take a moment to comment below and let me know what you think!

Did this guide help you with your Scorch?

Did it make you a mere curious to try him out?

Share your tactics as well so we could all become better Scorch pilots!

I will leave you with a funny video of a horrible decision that one of my Ronins decided to

take after a good kill-streak.

Thank you once again for taking the time to watch my video and see you next time guys!

very first episode i will be talking

about where cocoa beans come from and

their benefits so stick around so fact

number one about Kobe's it's the largest

number of species

ok so the largest number of species are

found in northwestern South America

where the tree is native the caco tree

grows in lowland tropical forests with

little seasonality

it needs a constant climate temperature

so is so basically what this fact is saying

is that the caco tree that grows

the cocoa beans need a constant

temperature climate temperatures of 21

32 degrees Celsius year around and never

lower the 15 degrees celsius and 100 250

centimeters of rainfall a year so

cocoa beans are the fermentx seeds of the

caco tree these Latin name is feel

Brahma Castillo which means food of the

gods

we cocoa bean through the gods our

favorite chocolate

yep ok so the pulp of the fruit is

edible but it is nothing like chocolate

it is yellow slipper and sweet and a bit

less dense than apple I don't want to

eat the outer casing of the cocoa bean

Coco is rich in minerals such as iron

magnesium calcium box forest offer and

Meganes

ok so the health benefits of cocoa

exclude relief from high blood pressure

cholesterol obesity constipation

diabetes from bronchial asthma

cancer cronic fatgue syndrome and various narrow

degenerative diseases is beneficial for

quickly and healing skincare and it

helps to improve cardiovascular health

and brain health and also helps in

treating copper deficiency it possesses

mood-enhancing properties and exert

protective effect against Nero tocisity

that's actually quite

interesting and then the last point and

fact on cocoa bean is that cocoa offers

an anti-inflammatory anti allergenic

anti-carcinogenic and anti oxidant

quality and has demonstrated positive

effects by imparting numerous health

benefits so i hope you enjoyed this

11 God Awful Things Religious People Have Said! - Duration: 2:47.

Here we have a list of religious customers.

The only thing they all have in common, is that they're all making God look down on us,

going:

"Ugh! Time to flood them again."

Do you have a chemical, or some sort of solution for turning clear water into wine?

It sounds like they've had a few too many bottles already.

But who would commit a crime on a Sunday?

That's blasphemy!

They'll go to Hell!

OH THANK GOD for reminding me!

I was totally gonna go and hold up this store, but now that I know that it's Sunday, I'll

hold off and do it on one of the six days of the week that God says it's acceptable

to do such a thing.

But didn't the Pope die years ago?

Yes, but he has Horcruxes, so he keeps on coming back.

If you did destroy each Horcrux?

One destroys Voldemort.

Okay, so then, what if Jesus himself came into the store, came up to you, and said it

was five bucks?

Yo!

Holy Ghost!

Loan me five bucks!

Don't tell Dad!

Well, I think my computer is possessed and it needs an exorcism.

Do you have any Catholic workers?

ERROR!

666 FOUND!

As a man of the cloth, I know this is a weird order.

But could I get a Hazel Feelgood and a Drunk Blondie?

I don't know who is more the victim here, to be honest.

The priest who has to use such inane names while ordering, or the employees who have

to use the names that Corporate thrust upon them.

Still, could be a lot worse.

The priest could have gone grocery shopping for such delectable delights:

Boobee's

Dick Sticks

Vergina

Swallow Balls

And if that wasn't So Gay already, he could also have some

Golden Gaytime, just make sure he doesn't get

Ayds, but if he does, some 666 Cold medicine might make him feel better!

You're making me waste the Lord's money!

I didn't know you had access to God's bank account!

Transfer to son: Five magic loaves of bread, two magic fish.

Netflix.

Deposit from son: All the sins of mankind.

Insurance protection payment against 'Acts Of Me'

Oh look!

He cancelled his membership to the Republican party.

Let me ask you this: What would Jesus pay for this?

Well, Jesus paid the ultimate price, and died for all your sins.

Yours is still a buck, forty-two.

THOU SHALT NOT HAGGLE!

God honors me!

You don't, and you will burn!

I don't know, I'm not God, but that's what he's saying!

You dishonor me and you will burn!

Alright, that's it!

Dishonor!

Dishonor on your whole family!

Dishonor on you!

Dishonor on your cow!

The power of Jesus can stop it!

The power of Christ should compel you to remove this magazine from your shelves!

This is a grandma, blaming the store, because her sixteen-year-old grandson, wants to look

at scantily-clad women.

Sorry, lady, don't want to knock your God, but no force in the Universe, is going to

stop a teenage boy from looking at naked women.

Splitting the Red Sea, raising people from the dead, stopping the sun from moving.

All a piece of cake, compared to stopping pubescents from tickling their tackle, at

any given opportunity.

You don't need freedom of speech if you let Jesus think for you.

Think about what you just said.

Or, let Jesus think about what you just said.

Dishonor on you!

Dishonor on your cow!

Just use the Mulan clip for that bit.

Don't use me.

Don't use me.

Ever!

North Dakota: Like spilled milk, oil spills are not a big deal. - Duration: 5:48.

>> KAIT: North Dakota passed a bill in there state senate saying that any oil spill of

10 barrels or less which is approximately 420 gallons of oil, to me that is a lot, does

not need to be reported.

Now the actual bill states the commission may not require any person controlling or

operating any well, or a facility that handles fluids used in the production of gas or oil,

to report to the commission any spill or release of fluid confined to the oil well pad, production

facility, or a production-related handling facility if the spill or release of fluid

contains ten or few barrels of fluid.

So other important things are covered in the bill.

If you would like to read the full bill, there is a link in the description below.

Now the vote was almost unanimous.

It came out to be 82 to 11.

Supporters of the bill say reporting small spills that are contained to sites designated

to protect the environment is an administrative burden on the state.

But there was no fiscal note with the bill so it's unclear what cost saving the bill

would provide.

And when brought up again to the people, ok like, what is the actual dollar amount, they

could not specify any actual amount of what would be saving by not having these reported.

Now, it is said that the volume of the spills really are not a concern with this.

It's the technology at these sites to help with clean up and protect the environment.

Now Ron Ness, president of the North Dakota Petroleum Council, compared a small spill

on an oil well site to spilling milk on a coffee tray.

Bakken well sites are designed with impermeable layers and perimeter berms so that small spills

are contained and easily cleared up without affecting the environment.

But, the other issue is that not all site are equipped with this new technology.

There are some older ones that don't have all these possibilities so clean up isn't

as well.

And this is where the land owners are stepping in.

This is where the concern of the land owners come in.

Because it's like, you know, not all these are going to have the clean up that say a

new site that was put in a few years ago.

So the North Dakota Farmers Union, the Northwest Landowners Association and the Dakota Resource

Council all opposed raising the threshold for spill reporting.

I think producers want to know if there are some spills on their land said Kayla Pulvermacher,

member advocacy director for the Farmers Union.

So one testimony was even concerned with the fact that no matter how little the spills

are, you know, if we constantly see these tiny little spill in these production sites,

could we eventually look at this and prevent much larger ones from happening that could

have devastating results.

So this is another concern.

Can we monitor and prevent future.

Now Meg Morely wrote a letter and she is from South Dakota.

She pretty much was saying that we don't need to report on all this.

She grew up with her father on a piece of land and would he have to report every single

spill that they did.

She's like, they were professional, they cleaned up immediately.

It's not what the spill is but how we clean it up.

So yeah, I don't know.

>> CHRIS: Yeah so, my take is that he is actually right that it is like a five year old spilling

milk on the coffee tray and the five year old is the gas company who refuses to pick

it up.

And it's going to site there and get nasty and moldy and start to rot and get all kinds

of weird maggots and all kinds of...no but really.

My problem is that I don't believe for one second when they say they are going to clean

it up.

And a perfect example is what is clean up.

When we had that spill, I believe it was in the gulf.

>> KAIT: Well yeah, we had the big on in the Gulf that happened.

>> CHRIS: Right, when that happened the way they cleaned it up is they actually laid toxic

chemicals on the oil to make it heavy so that it would sink to the bottom.

They didn't actually pick it out.

>> KAIT: Which is devastating because that doesn't help with any

>> CHRIS: It doesn't clean it.

Nothing is clean.

It just, it just makes it more toxic.

>> KAIT: In regards to that, what chemicals are being used to clean it up um, you know

that is more of a concern to the producers because now there is not just oil and chemicals

and all the leaching from the oil but there is going to be additional chemicals to clean

that up as well.

>> CHRIS: And how do we keep track of what oil spills you had no matter how much is being

spilled.

Let's say you have 400 gallon oil spill happen a few days ago and then it happened again

and it keeps happening every three to four days, before you know it, that's actually

a lot of oil that is being spilled that is not being tracked.

>> KAIT: I mean, I guess my concern is that I do kind of agree.

There in a production facility, there supposed to be prepared.

It's not like this trucker dumped 10 barrels on the road in a non-protective area that

has been specifically designed for oil.

My concern is the fact that this is a private company and privately own companies do not,

don't have the best track record of doing things correctly.

And so for me it's like, the government or some source needs to be monitoring this to

make sure they are doing it correctly.

So whether it's all cleaned up and it's not a big deal.

It's like, are you properly doing it.

>> CHRIS: Exactly.

But no need to fear.

It's not like we have crazy people in charge of this country right now.

They are totally for the environment.

Totally for it.

>> KAIT: And I have to say, this is kind of a shocking bill for me especially because

of the pipeline that is happening right now.

>> CHRIS: Yeah.

That does surprise me.

And a part of me wonders how much that actually does have to do with it.

Because they had reports of oil spills in South Dakota and North Dakota that brought

people even closer to saying hey here we are trying with DAPL and we have these oil spills.

You need to stop because look we have 500 gallons that could be easily spilled into

the rivers.

>> KAIT: Probably why they want to hide it.

>> CHRIS: Exactly, a part of it could be a cover up to try and hide how many spills are

actually happening.

>> KAIT: How many mistakes are we actually making.

>> CHRIS: Right.
